      What you said. I just did this job a few years ago on my sisters accord, she topped it off at some point with the wrong stuff and it instantly started whining and grinding. Now I get to do it all again tomorrow. Fun times. I think Im gonna super glue the cap on this time.

    For my 05 V6, I'd like to suggest to those that are trying it out for the first time to take the pulley off: NO IMPACT DRILL, NO PROBLEM!
    *BEFORE* TAKING OFF THE BELT, HOLD THE PULLEY STURDY WITH ONE HAND SO IT DOESN'T MOVE
    GRAB A *SIZE 19 WRENCH* TO LOOSEN THAT PULLEY BOLT SO YOU CAN HAND TURN IT LATER WHEN ITS OFF
    WHEN REINSTALLING:
    HAND TIGHTEN BOLT AND PUT THE BELT BACK ON PULLEY WITH BOTH SCREWS IN
    GRAB THE WRENCH AND HOLD BELT AND PULLEY AGAIN BUT TIGHTEN IT TO SAME TIGHTNESS AS BEFORE
    YW

    The pulley comes off of unit easily with an impact. No need to brace. It came right off. After install my steering wheel was tight for a few minutes. Had to work the wheel back and forth until the pump engaged and sucked fluid in. Then I filled to needed level.

    If you don't have an impact gun you can still remove the pulley bolt. Get a piece of long 2×4 lumber , place the old steering pump on it, drill two holes in the wood where 2 holes to mount the steering pump are. Then get two long bolts with wing nuts and secure the pump to the wood. Then drill a hole on the pump directly underneath the pulley, then stick a old drill bit ,or a screwdriver in the hole you just drilled. This will be used to jam the pulley from moving. Then get a 19mm socket with breaker bar and unscrew the pulley bolt. To fasted the pulley to the New pump, you take the same steps above just don't drill a hole in your new pump, you will need to get a screwdriver and jam the pulley from moving.

    By the way, for the 2007 3.0 V6. Possible you guys can do the FULL engine rubberized mount Fr/Rr replace on these sedans??? Because, they are known to go out. Especially the front hydraulic filled engine mount. The rear automatic on these, in my opinion is NOT the best design and they tend to wear out. It is always good to check on these. So with that said, hope you guys can provide a video. Thanks in advance!

    On my 04 Accord EX V6 Sedan 88,700 miles. Im try the TSB again with new o-ring. Good to know as well the Pump can be removed. Without having to remove the side engine mount Bracket its says and shows in Factory service manual. To do that dont understand why.

    I would love if you guys showed the complete process (properly putting it back together again as well). We just want to make sure that the tension of the belt would not be an issue once everything is put back together again. Is there something special that needs to happen in relation to the belt tension.

    • @GarageBoys
      @GarageBoys  4 роки тому

      We tried to make the video as short and straight to the point as possible, you don’t have to do anything special just put everything back the way it was removed

    • @yt-user03561
      @yt-user03561 9 місяців тому

      If your tensioner is working properly then it should spring itself back into place after you put the belt back on the pump and removed your ratchet from the tensioner pulley. No extra work is needed to set the tension as it should already do that once the belt is on. The tensioner is spring loaded so all you have to do to remove and replace belts is move the pulley forward and back with your ratchet. But do so carefully so your tool doesn't go flying off.

      You can check the fluid and if you see it’s really dirty and black and you can flush the system and add new Honda power steering fluid

    Mdx 06 power steering squeaks when I turn it on in the morning hose connect to the container and the pump both sides have fluid on them what advise can you give me ?

    • @GarageBoys
      @GarageBoys  4 роки тому

      Sounds like it was low in fluid and they probably added regular power steering not Acura power steering (yes Acura and Honda have their own power steering fluid) very common mistake and that will mess up your pump. Advice will be flush fluids and add Acura power steering and fix leaks, probably replace hose or bracket. Fun fact - power steering will leak right on your alternator and mess it up! So fix the leak soon before it takes your alternator...

    Did you purchase the power steering pump without the pulley? I cannot find a website selling a PS pump for a 2008 accord 3.5L that comes with the pulley!

    • @GarageBoys
      @GarageBoys  5 років тому

      Some places will sell them with it but most won’t. You can always use your old one, you just have Remove it by holding it steady and turning the nut.

    I got power steering pump from AutoZone then I comes with "pink fluid" inside. but the fluid from Honda is clear like olive oil . Is that normal ??? Should I take the pink fluid out??

    • @GarageBoys
      @GarageBoys  6 років тому

      No don’t take it out but it’s fine if you did already. Just make sure you add “Honda power steering” fluid and you will be fine

    • @TDONLEY91
      @TDONLEY91 6 років тому

      the only place that sells compatible honda power steering fluid is the dealership. for the other honda fluids, some matter and some don't. you can use any brand that is compatible for motor oil (i.e. 5w20 synthetic). any synthetic brake fluid, you can use any japanese spec radiator fluid (honda, nissan, toyota, or zerex brand "asian coolant") however, honda is different from other asian manufacturers for power steering fluid. you must buy the honda brand stuff from the dealership. other brands like subaru or toyota actually used undyed dextron transmission fluid for the power steering, you can use regular transmission fluid that is dyed red from the autoparts store for those vehicles.

    u are totally cheating viewers when u tell them what to do, then u magically pause your video, then somehow/someway, u show the nut/bolt/connection/whatever, just magically disconnected! #lame You also forgot to show anything regarding the MOST IMPORTANT step of the procedure, which would be to siphon out all the old PS fluid, and flushing/filling ONLY with Honda fluid?! PS...are low pressure PS line bolts size 10 or something else? LOL

    • @GarageBoys
      @GarageBoys  5 років тому +4

      If I show you how I turn to remove every single bolt the video will easily be 10 minutes longer, I show the viewer what bolt to remove and what size it is, I assume the viewer know how to remove a bolt. If not then you can search on UA-cam how to turn and remove a bolt and then come back. All my videos are quick and straight to the point because I know my viewers are busy doing the labor and don’t want to spend time watching a long video while their hands are greasy
