Species is not a social construct. There is no mental/spiritual equivalent to species. For sex, there is, as gender and sex *are not the same.* Sex is what's between your legs. Gender is how you view yourself. It's why you would freak out if you were in the body of the opposite sex tomorrow and everyone was calling you crazy for insisting you are not that gender. You would develop gender dysphoria.
Additionally, I'm sure there is no evidence to suggest that people with that so-called condition improve mentally upon transition. Transgender people do. "Cow" is not a gender. Male and female are genders. Both male and female is gender, neither male and female is gender. Every gender out there is a combination of male, female, and neither. This should be the norm, live and let live you know, even if you don't understand someone, as long as they're not hurting anyone, you should let them be and do what they want to. The most it could do, is to let you see from a different point of view, therefore, making you a smarter and more open minded person overall, maybe even make you realize things about yourself that you never thought of. A year back, I would have been totally against this, so I would have been like all those other transphobes in the comments. As of lately however, a few months back (May 2020), I started to research into this because I was kind of curious and wanted to learn more about it. I started to realize that I was very foolish in thinking those things because I was having the same experiences as some of these people; ie not feeling comfortable when referred to as she/her, development of my body and so forth....I began to realize that I was a boy, which honestly was very shocking to me, I honestly hated myself so much for even thinking of that idea I got very upset at myself for a short while. Today it is November 18, 2020 and I have accepted the fact that I am a boy. I have recently told some of my close friends and they were so accepting of me that I got very happy and emotional over it. At the same time, I felt like something filled the void inside of me, which honestly made me very pleasant like I was waiting to do it for a long time. I was scared of total nonsense and being rejected by those who were around me. I was a very phobic idiot for some time, but I guess what I am trying to say is that people can change for the better....even if it doesn't seem like it. I don't know why I chose to rant here about my story but I just want to say that you are all valid, amazing human beings. Whatever things you are going through right now, I wish you the best~ ❤️

I know this is a long time ago Samantha but I want to say this is very affirming. Making me cry with happiness. My journey is happening now. It’s been a year. 6 months on hormones. I wish did it years ago but couldn’t. I’m late 40’s and it makes me cry that I am doing it now and wish I could turn back time. I would love to have someone to help me go through this and to give me tips/tricks. I would love to learn how to do makeup like you. You are an inspiration. As a Canadian sapphic trans woman, it helps to see people like Mardi and others and their journey as well.

To all the comments that are stating that Samantha is a male ,you are welcome to just read the science behind being transgender and how the brain and your genitalia are developed in different lapses of time and how a hormonal imbalance during prenatal development can cause a disruption were the brain that is in charge of your conscience can develop with the same physiological structure than most cis female brain whereas you're genitalia can develop as the opposite sex of your brain , resulting in massive productions of the contrary hormone that your brain is requesting, resulting in neurological disorders such as depression and gender dysphoria (depersonalisation, derealization, body dimorphya , etc ), if she was ever a guy, why even questioning your own gender identity ? If she was a guy, then why the estrogen hormonal treatment aliviated most of her neurological impairments instead of creating more? , it just has no sense what you're saying .

And the answer to this hormone imbalance is surgery to become the other gender? Maybe they should be given hormones for the gender they are instead then.
