You can get an external USB SSD up to 4TB (or higher if you want) for pretty cheap for the Xbox series X. I have been using it for a year now. Transfer speeds wont be as fast as an m.2 but they are fast enough for storing and reading games, and you will save a lot of money.
I prefer XBox over PS, but the options to upgrade internal SSD are not available at all on XBox without crazy involved modding/hacking. Upping your r/w speeds on your SSD not just getting more storage helps the game run a ton smoother.
Both things you mentioned have nothing to do with internal ssd memory. What you are explaining for both consoles is expanded external ssd memory. Yes you have to remove a plastic and metal cover for the PS5 but its still external memory. Its impossible remove the internal ssd in the PS5. Its soldered memory chips on the motherboard and not a memory card. Whether you are adding an external oem memory card into the Series X/S or adding an adapter and non-oem card into the slot its also still external. The Xbox Series X internal memory card can be removed and replaced but its not a simple process and the console has to be completely disassembled along with drive cloning. Its likely the same for the Series S. I've considered replacing it with a 2tb card but haven't decided whether its worth the headache.
I feel bad for Xbox users you have to buy a 400$ “internal “ ssd which is not even inside the console and is slower speed vs a 120$ actually internal ssd that is much faster
I got the 4 TB Seagate Firecuda SSD. I think it's actually faster than WD. Works perfectly ❤

The title is basically a LIE because you're not installing an INTERNAL SSD on the Xbox Series X.

So can you not add an internal ssd like the one you put in the PlayStation to the Xbox?

Does Xbox have a deal with sea gate so they prioritize their product rather than customers and basically scam them all
Western digital expansion 2tb for Xbox is $150 and senate is $200. The $400 price tag is not accurate.
