I did tuns of body work for my bebe, she had a posterior tongue tie--and although she gained weight- she had cft, cst, and her latch never really was deep. She still tosses and turns--i think a posterior release for my daughter along w myo therapy & body work before & after release will help her feel more compfortable in her body---& sleep better and hopefully help her palette expand with a newly lifted tongue!♡. I'll probably wait until she's at least 3 or 4yo.
We got laser for lip ties & pedriatric dentist said she didn’t see any need to laser prosterior tongue tie. He is struggling with a deep latch & opening wide. Idk if i should’ve done the tongue too
Thanks for sharing your insights. What exactly would you recommend for “breastfeeding management?” Also, would a chiropractor be able to accomplish the body work or should it be an osteopath?
Dozens of breastfeeding management strategies may be used to support babies struggling with tongue-ties. Each breastfeeding management plan has to be tailored to the needs of each individual mum and baby by someone with expertise in infant feeding, preferably an IBCLC. Chiropractors, osteopaths or cranial sacral therapists can be used to provide bodywork for babies. They all have slightly different approaches; some babies may respond better to one discipline than another. We tend to end up using whichever practitioners we have locally who have experience, training and expertise in treating babies. In my area, we have predominantly osteopaths but some of the babies I see go to chiropractors if they are easier to access. - Sarah Oakley
Mine told me she didn’t see any need to touch the tongue because sometimes it makes no difference. We did get lip ties lasered. My baby also has a prosterior tongue tie. He is still not getting a deep latch.
