    I did tuns of body work for my bebe, she had a posterior tongue tie--and although she gained weight- she had cft, cst, and her latch never really was deep. She still tosses and turns--i think a posterior release for my daughter along w myo therapy & body work before & after release will help her feel more compfortable in her body---& sleep better and hopefully help her palette expand with a newly lifted tongue!♡. I'll probably wait until she's at least 3 or 4yo.

    So they stop the way the respond to the stress by sleeping but you said they cant sleep when they are stressed? Also that is the definition of training you are doing soemthing over and over to get a result or learn something. So if a baby stops repsonding with crying and goes to sleep that is exactly what you were traing them for. which indicates they can self regulate. In your logic they wouldnt sleep they would just stop crying and respond in a different way because the stress didnt leave. Kinda talking out both sides. Same people that say kids cant be held responsible for murder because they arent 25 and the brain isnt developed to udneratand their choices yet turn around and let a fiver year old decide their gender for the rest of their life. Maybe your right maybe your wrong but i can tell you from my experience they responded just how i wanted. they slept and each night the slept longer.

      ... and the study she sighted suggested the baby underwent 'stress'... okay, so? We click on this video because we want to understand how to avoid the *harmful* effects 'stress' can have - *not* because we want to avoid *all* 'stress' - stress stimulates biological changes, whether you're talking about the neuronal connections of the brain and nervous system, or a bone remodeling from the pressures applied to it - stress is a necessary component to adaptation. So, while she demonstrated 'hey, you're baby's undergoing 'stress' when you take this approach,' she has utterly failed to demonstrate the negative consequence to that stress, and secondly propose an alternative strategy to avoid that consequence. I hate it when people use 'scary' words, like they know something at a higher level, to get a negative reaction out of people without actually explaining the mechanism. Shallow video.

    • @rhoadesequineveterinaryser1854
      @rhoadesequineveterinaryser1854 9 місяців тому

      ... also... I can't help but feel there is a *tremendous* difference between a 25 year old adult calling a friend for comfort and stress reduction, and when a young child or infant engages in a more instinctive behavior... or when someone with AUD engages in a repetitive behavior to regulate their stresses for that matter. I think she's blending multiple concepts into one. You don't just magically start self-regulating, managing your stress and emotions at the age of 25 years old when the brain is fully developed. The question is by what mechanisms does a 25 year learn to self-regulate over a 25 year period? We're specifically asking about early phases of that process which she didn't even touch on...

    • @heatherwallace3397
      @heatherwallace3397 7 місяців тому

      Exactly. There's three types of stress and sleep training doesnt meet the criteria of toxic stress unless of course we are talking about Russian orphanages where the infants had no attachments nor did they get their needs met. Oh wait sleep training critics DO use babies from Russian orphanages to make their point 🤦‍♀️

    You call that evidence? People like you don’t give babies enough credit. They may be small but they’re highly intelligent beyond what adults (or any study) can comprehend. Contrary to your ‘BELIEFS’, many parents have seen with their own eyes when their babies self-soothe. You of course CANNOT speak for them, are they your babies? No. So stop spewing nonsense, acting like some know it all. Just because you wrote a book and throw around XYZ about this research study and that research study, doesn’t make you an expert. Seriously, you remind me of my old boss who used to throw her education and PhD around at every corner but she was really dumb as a doorknob and a narrow-minded prick. Go raise a dozen babies on your very own first and hands-on, then we can talk. And another thing, are you talking about babies or a 25-year old adult? Make up your mind lady. Like “rubybear7335” pointed out, no approximate age was given with regards to when babies can self-soothe but the only age cited is of a 25-year old adult? Seriously? LOL. 🙄 When my 17-month old nephew is upset, you can give him his favorite blanket and he calms him right up once he reaches for it and starts snuggling and suckling on it. He’s been this way since he was only 6-8 months old, possibly younger. Not all research is without FLAW. And therefore, cannot be taken as ‘evidence’. It’s all speculative/theory and should be taken as such. Trying to pass it off as FACT or EVIDENCE is going too far.

  • @LaurenWilson808
    @LaurenWilson808 11 місяців тому

    Another video that says "your wrong" &/or "that doesn't work" but gives absolutely no solutions. Doesn't even give approximate age a child should be able to fall asleep alone. So 25 years old? Only age I heard. So rock baby asleep until 25??? How about some productive solutions for parents instead of leaving them feel hopeless after watching.

    Yeah but what if they're stressed from having to go to sleep in the first place. Our little girl can fall asleep only under the condition, that she is being held and lullied. Our every attempt at laying her down without her being fully asleep resulted in her crying and concurrently waking herself up even more. We want to teach not to be afraid of sleeping alone but we're afraid we're too deep and it could be stressful enough, to damage her.

      My parents & most ppl in my family that I’ve seen always cared for the baby first when the baby is crying & trying to sleep. Ppl say “oh their gonna depend on u now” n all that other bs but that’s literally the point. How are you suppose to build trust with your baby if you’re not there for them when they need physical touch? as long as you practice confidence with your child when their young & older. There are also diff independent skills you could teach ur children. Your children pay attention to u more than u think. So I’ve noticed confidence & structure & just practicing daily routine might just have ur child telling YOU their ready for their own bedroom at the right age:)

      Also, depending on how old she is (she sounds very young & possibly newborn) they have no idea when “sleep time” is or the concept of time itself 😂. Therefore it must be the energy (taking turns in a relationship helps like passing the baby back n forth if one of y’all is stressed) or they just not ready to gts.

      Mine told me she didn’t see any need to touch the tongue because sometimes it makes no difference. We did get lip ties lasered. My baby also has a prosterior tongue tie. He is still not getting a deep latch.

    Really good tip about not immediately removing baby if they fuss. I’m constantly reminding my clients that babies might need a bit of time to get over the transition :) I’m a huge advocate of baby wearing ❤
