StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is an expansion pack released in March 2013 to the military science fiction real-time strategy game StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty by Blizzard Entertainment. Heart of the Swarm is the second part of a planned StarCraft II trilogy, with part three titled Legacy of the Void.
The expansion includes additional units and multiplayer changes from Wings of Liberty, as well as a continuing campaign focusing on the Zerg race, following Sarah Kerrigan in her effort to regain control of the swarm and enact her revenge on the Terran Dominion's emperor, Arcturus Mengsk. At this past Awesome Games Done Quick, $1,025,000 was raised for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. It only took a week of continuous streaming, 18,000 donors, and many many runners to achieve. A big thanks to everyone responsible for these amazing numbers, what a humbling achievement. For comparison, last year's event raised just under $500,000.

People complaining about the commentators might've missed one of the best donation comments ever: "We have a $100 donation from Abathur, 'Donate money. Defeat cancer. Cancer limits terran specimens for zerg evolutions. Makes job difficult in advancing swarm." That was pure win.

Guys, please dont hate on the video because someone was disruptive... I'm sure she didn't mean to be that loud maybe it was just the mic being too close and the way she was sitting. This is still an excellent run by Raelcun and it doesn't deserve hate because of a 3rd party being loud.
The only problem I have with StarCraft, is it seems to bring out the worst in most gamers, me included. I am using this run to train my resistance to innate nerd-rage.
love the run and the game.. but her mic or her is just wayy to loud.. I'm using a volume booster so I can actually hear whats going on, on my laptop.. but she is just waaaayyy to loud compared to the guy that's doing the run
honestly, I'm just more interested in her (Anna?) relationship to Raelcun. I spent the whole three hours debating with myself and when they said they were not together...I was shocked.
I must say, I had to pause the video and minimize it to write in the comment section about perhaps not giving here a mic(?) next AGDC, but as its already been mentioned alot of times, id rather just give my input towards it instead.
I think its more than disrptive, I think its disrespectful talking so much trash, not laughing at jokes written in the comments when people donate. If I watched this stream in real-time, her comments would actually prevent me from wanting to watch this stream. And following thoughts too that is; if Im thinking about not wanting to watch streams with her involved in the future, surely other people think the same. That would surely result in less money raised?
I would, and Im sorry for saying this, I mean no disrespect: HIGHLY recommend that she be put in the back, not given a mic or simply just stop being such an elitist bitch on stream.. Ive watched 1hour 20minutes now, and I actually have to mute the vid so I can finish it.. thats TERRIBLE, dont you think?

I don't know why people felt this run was so bad, I really enjoyed the humor, the interplay between Hannah and Raelcun and those on the couch, and the fact that Raelcun, unlike some of the other speedrunners at this event, actually went to the effort to listen to every donation and even ask for repeats if he didn't hear them correctly or fully. The respect there was very nice.

I'm not going to stick up for her. She was overly negative, rude, sarcastic, and disruptive. If your goal is to raise money for charity, people like this should not be allowed on camera. Not to mention laying down on the floor..... That just oozes an "I don't want to to be here" attitude. I guarantee if I see her on stream behaving that way, I'm going to leave the stream. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I get that this is for fun, but a little professionalism goes a long way towards your ultimate fundraising goal....
You, along with pretty much every other person that complains, fails to understand the dynamic of the people involved in the professional starcraft scene, and the way they sarcastically (and entirely jokingly) semi mock criticise each other. Everything that happened on stream was so close to home, and I loved every minute of it. As for being on the floor, why not? Only so much room on the couch.
Napalm Flame none of these people are in the professional sc2 scene. (are u completely talking out of ur ass???). speed running sc2 is fun and all, and awesome that its rasing money for charity but their is prob just a handful,of people speed running this game.
people that are professional sc2 players are like polt, hero, puckk, immvp, mma, and other huge names like that in the sc2 esports, and overall the atmosphere around the players and and scene is a highly respectable one. where manners are thought to be extremely important. has it is a mostly Korean sport and honor and tradition is key to their culture.
also to be frank, their are not overly that many foreigner professional sc2 players (compared to other games, eg. dota), definitely none that could afford to waste time on the single player

Well of course they aren't professional, none of them know build orders or how to macro for a start, they wouldn't even fare at regionals/nationals. The whole proscene attitude isn't all sunshine, roses and zero BM like you think it is, especially in the western scene. There's plenty of BM and plenty of in-jokes, and they're glorious. The stuff that happens on the couch (and the beanbag) is a pretty good mirror for everything.
Napalm Flame well i was talking about the none foreigner scene as really thats the only one that matters in regard to sc2 and overall effects the community within sc2. with all the gl hf's at the start of the game. and how being bm is very much looked down upon within the community. and except for idra and naniwa, you have no idea what your talking about. and you also make it sound like regionals/nationals are very easy to get into. and i never said it was all roses and sunshine, you just reading far to much into what i said. in korea and where the sc2 scene largely is, its in their culture to respect and honor each other when in competition. and tbh i didn't really want to make my already long comment even bigger going more indepth into it.
and what are u in sc2 anyway? prob some shitty bronze player that knows everything about it. have u ever played a pro player. or entered into competitions for money?
Yep, I played nationals back in WoL. They weren't all that hard to get into, just a few months of solid practice to prepare. Country's fairly dead as far as esports goes though.

I loved the third party chatter- i laughed so many times, loved the run
to everyone saying these comments are "haters" towards this woman, they are not. She really does ruin a lot of very good commentary moments and her complete disinterest in the actual run was pretty rude to everyone involved. Excellent run though, I enjoyed the parts where she didn't say anything, the few moments those were.
I'm 2.5 hours in, still waiting to observe this awful disruption I'm supposed to be freaking out about. So far she's shown far more interest in the game than anybody else in the video except Raelcun himself. I think she even reminded him of some important little action he'd forgotten, at some point. Meanwhile the dudes on the couch are busy cracking jokes about how the prize box has a microphone on it. (Which is fine--but anyway they've very clearly contributed less game-related commentary than she has, as of hour 2.5.) And I haven't even heard anybody get badly interrupted, except for the donation reader. Which is as it should be.
Maybe a wizard switched in a better video after you watched, though. I don't know. But the one I'm watching is nice enough.

Yeah, I'm saying get something with better sound. My laptop doesn't experience this problem. This tab I got for free from renewing my cell contract doesn't suffer from these videos being too quiet. I also got a lil usb charged speaker for it for 5 bucks from walmart that more than doubles the volume capability, which I only use for music, but sounds like that would fix your problem.
and now, 3 years later... same shit with the audio throughout entire week of the event... wtf are they doing...
So SDA.... you really need to make a behind the scenes documentary for SGDQ to really show what goes into pull something like this together

I usually don't hate on people...but damn Hannah acts like she is the most interesting Woman in the world, constantly acting lie she's above everything/everyone. Who cares how much salad you have eaten, who cares why you are not knitting...etc...Next time don't give her a microphone!
To be honest here, we're watching a 3+ hour gameplay and sometimes, people bring up small talk to at divert the mood from constantly having gameplay for such a long amount of time. I agree that she's annoying from time to time, but I'd rather have her be an annoyance than just complete silence with the lack of interaction between the player and the audience.
Last year people loved the fact that she knitted, I think she knitted some stuff they gave away, so that's a reason.
Also if I am not mistaken about the people, she could even have cancer and knitted last year and told everyone on the stream in a show of feelings.
Which she also got hatred for, how dare she talk about cancer at a cancer marathon where all the comments are about cancer.
That would probably be the reasons why knitting was mentioned.
@@MakooWallinen I think she got hate because she asked the runner too stop his gameplay midrun. She was very emotional though and talked about cancer like you said, but I don't really think she chose the best time for it. It's clearly awful what has happened to her and her family, but still.
I actually did wonder why she wasn't knitting at first until she explained! And in this specific run, I didn't find her annoying or whatever, nor did I find her to be entertaining. She was there and that was fine xD

I think most people AREN'T complaining about her... the video has 297 thumbs-ups and 36 thumbs-downs right now. People seem to have liked it. I think maybe it's just a few silly kids who got offended (over nothing but their own complete misunderstanding of Hannah's attitude) and made a lot of noise about it, plus a few more silly kids who got mad because the sound quality seemed extremely bad (even though it was really only slightly bad) and felt compelled to make a lot of noise about THAT.

Kerrigan used Mengsk, then she let him go and was thankful that he left her on Tarsonis. Brood War ends. Then she wanted to revenge on Mengsk cause of Tarsonis, then she killed him. Yeah, Blizzard, thats logic. I am quite worried about lotv storyline.
kitej18 The Queen of Blades is not Kerrigan, and Kerrigan is not the Queen of Blades. She clearly has memory loss of her time as the QoB and her personality shifts accordingly. She clearly becomes more human following the events of SC1, and then the primal zerg transformation puts her halfway between: ruthless enough to do what's necessary but not sadistic enough relish going beyond that.
Hell, she wasn't even that mad at Mengsk post WoL until he attacked the station she was chilling in with Raynor and tried to take her out. Then when Raynor was kidnapped it was doubly personal. It reaffirmed to her that Mengsk was a spiteful coward who wouldn't stop until she was dead, and reopened past wounds about the betrayal.
People who bitch at SC2 storyline just don't pay attention.

The primal zerg story rapes the lore from StarCraft and StarCraft: Broodwar so hard... I can't imagine what went through Blizzard's programming team when they decided that this crap was a good idea. It's so damn wrong... they could have almost just decided to say that the Overmind never existed and that it was all just a dream and it would have sucked less then this...
