Great video again. These are indeed the DAVO albums. They are made in many countries around the world. I use them for my collections, although I typically buy the binders only to fill with my own pages. And you are absolutely right about the looks of a book shelf full of them (talking from experience). Since they are a Dutch company, the Netherlands albums are easy to come by here.
Great IOM collection John. I use Dave albums for for my GB collection. I know they don’t accommodate variations but great for basic collection. My first 3 albums all had Stanley Gibbons but fourth just Davo.
I am an Isle of Man collector and I wish I had an album like that😍. Thank you for sharing, John. You’re right that the horse tram is still running today, I took a ride last summer.
Thanks for watching Richard. I watched your video about your trip to the Isle of Man, that must have been what made me think the horse drawn trams were still running, I need to go back and rewatch it now!
Thanks for all these videos, I'm just starting to look into collecting stamps. Kinda like you, always had a heart to collect things. Mostly comic book and sports cards. But stamps have started to gain interest to me as I get older.
I really enjoyed this look at your new album. It's a cracking album and you've practically filled it. You might get lucky with someone selling batches of those miniature sheets. You've got so many different collections going, it's fantastic.
Thanks Michael. I'm trying to expand my collecting, but keep it manageable. How people collect worldwide stamps, I don't know! The Isle of Man album is about 3/5 full, so still got a way to go, but all part of the fun to hunt down the missing pieces.
Lovely album and collection John. I use to be spread out with my collections but have now limited myself to Great Britain 1840 to 1995 and George VI Commonwealth, which are still a lot of stamps to collect.
Just back from a visit to Isle of Man, have a collection up to 2000 and thought to get a few from the post office there. Bought a stack of postcards to send to family and friends around the world... found out that the post offices on the island only sell booklets for local delivery... meaning that all those different rates stamps they sell are not available for general postal use from the post office. One can buy the new issues from the philatelic online service that is based in an industrial business park near the airport... not a place for collectors to go. The IOM Post Office just puts meter labels on all outgoing mail. So, two things, first, if you get legitimately postally used stamps - expecially the overseas rates - they will be scarce! Secondly, IOM "postage" stamps are really now just government labels with prices affixed... they do stretch the definition of what a "postage" stamp is.... Otherwise, recommend to one and all a trip there to enjoy the towns and villages, the historic sites and maybe some motorcycle racing.. it it a great place with great people!
Hey John. Nice Davi album. A real bargain. Looks absolutely fabulous. And John, we (I think I can say ‘we’) are not looking for experts. Just genuine honest collectors we are looking for, and you are one of them. I am a ‘solo’ collector alao. I do not know anyone else collecting or remotely interesting in this hobby. I tried joining a club, but unfortunately they were too elitist for me. When I said I collected Malta they said it will not hold value, Germany will they said. But I was just there to share my live for the hobby and learn about it. I am not collecting stamps as an investment. Anyway, thanks once again John!
Another great video John. I like the look of the Davo albums but not the price! All my albums are S.G. Windsor albums (10 off) for G.B. Stamps, these are expensive, but not as pricey as the Davo's. Looking foreward to the next one.
Great video and a great deal on the album. Interesting that your album is "Stanley Gibbons", mine do not. I have more items to send as well. Someone may as well get some use out of them :)
by the way in JULY 1973-2023 marks 50th Anniversary of the ISLE OF MAN stamps. I wonder if they will issue a 50th anniversary set. I myself don't like the Davo albums they are too plain. I'm doing my own pages for IOM.
I just received my 2023 "Collect British Stamps." It is superb!
Beautiful album! It will be nice to see how you complete it. Thanks for the episode. Enjoyed it!
Thanks so much!
Thank you for showing your collection. It was great learning about the Isle of Man which I knew nothing about. Beautiful stamps and album!

Thanks for the info on the DAVO binders

Thanks for watching and commenting. What are you looking at collecting?

Yo
Thank you for living my dreams and showing them off!
Congrats on 600 subs! I truly can remember your first video! Keep stampin'!

The Davos are stunning, but yes, the price is scary! I've seen the Windsor Albums, do you have the Higeless mount pages?
I.O.M. SG 1710. all the best rob.
Great video and a great deal on the album. Interesting that your album is "Stanley Gibbons", mine do not. I have more items to send as well. Someone may as well get some use out of them :)
Thanks Jeff, can I just ask, does your Volume 1 go up to the end of 1999 as this one does?
@@johncollectsstamps yes, to 1999.
Thanks Jeff
Слава Україні!
Чудовий альбом, гарні марки, дякуємо за відео

Of course, IOM stamps will turn 50, thanks for the mental prod. I get that some people don't like the Davo pages, but I like the simplicity of them.
You're killing me, man. 9 minutes before we see a single stamp, let's get moving!
