You guys always do it. Great Content and HONESTY! The world is a different place. Yes, everyone traveling MUST do their research. I have been traveling through Mexico and staying away from ALL Mexican States around the U.S. Boarder. That is where the most crime and drought is. Thank God I do my due diligence! I am a 65 year old, disabled, single female traveling by myself so I have to do my homework or I could end up in a very serious and dangerous situation. What I find annoying about some of the YT videos like great places to live or retire is that as you mentioned, only the good parts are shown. They seldom mention geographical issues like how higher elevation may affect people adversely (I could not adapt to it in Mexico City or the Lake Chapala area), as well as high pollution in some cities, or lack of nature, green spaces, where they might exist nearby but are not close enough where you can actually walk in the forest or a large park. Plus, little details like poor plumbing (you can’t throw toilet paper into the toilet) or a lot of other little things that can become annoying when considered together.

I lived in Queretaro for a year and half and by the time I left I honestly thought there was something wrong with my heart and/or lungs. I was winded and lightheaded for any little thing, grossly out of shape?? Once I left and have been in lower elevations, I'm totally fine. I just never acclimated. That is aside from the dry air and dust. Bad combo for me.

65 female here also and I have been slow traveling off and on for over 45 years. All across the USA x6, Mexico and the past 5 yrs in Europe. Just myself and a dog. Aside from the horrific war currently on the most dangerous place to me is the USA. The US just doesn't understand how much their status has dropped over the years. Racism, gun violence, political unrest, extreme cost of living. It is not an attractive destination to many. The inability to deal with the constant mass shootings is destroying their tourism and international student attractions. Europe and MX are benefitting those gains now. No matter what country or community you go to you have to do your due diligence. Forums, newspapers, media outlets, previous travelers there are so many resources. Have a plan B no matter where you're going.

Exactly. And great advice. The US has definitely dropped in desirability which is why so many are looking abroad for a better life. The risk you might experience in a different country can outweigh the risk of staying in the US. Wishing you the best as you continue your travels.

Great video, and very true. I am currently in Ecuador, and I was here when the whole terrorism issue was happening. They've kind of gotten that under control, and now they are experiencing issues with generating electricity due to a drought that they are experiencing. The country generates their electricity with water (hydropower), so when there isn't enough water, they are forced to ration electricity. We just experienced 2 days of planned blackouts that were 8 hours in length each day🤦. I called myself looking into things before I came, but unfortunately for me, this all developed after I had already arrived.

I wonder if Paris is no worse than other large cities, they are just head-on attacking the bedbug problem very loudly (since it clearly wouldn't work to ignore it). Probably Paris after the Olympics will be the least buggy city around, I just hope the chemicals used don't hurt people.

@@TheYarbros lol right! Love you guys. Your videos are really useful and helpful. I was living in South America before and I plan to go back and I don't plan to ever go back to the US so watching your videos is helping me figure out the best place. One question, with everything that I'm hearing on UA-cam now is it all hype or is it actually too dangerous to visit Columbia at this point?

    "POW-POWED"!!! 😮😮😮

Just wanted to comment on bed bugs, I went in Oct, (and I had friends visit at separate times in fall) not only did I not experience it, it was never brought up once while I was there. Personally I feel it was overblown, but that is just my opinion.

The bed bug infestation was media hype everyone fell for. "The New Scientist reported that "There is no scientific evidence of any increase in infestation rates this year, despite all the media attention". They also added that Dr. Arzeki Izri from Sorbonne Paris North University thinks that "rates in 2023 are probably about the same - and are roughly equivalent to rates in other major cities in Europe, Asia, North America and Australia."

It wasn't the media that exposed hospitals, theaters and public transportation. Those were multiple Parisians voicing their concerns. It wasn't the media that instructed the city to formulate and execute a plan to cope with them either.
With the Olympics coming to town I believe ppl, Dr. & reporters have been hired to sweep the situation away. Meanwhile the city has a huge effort going on to eradicate media hype? Where there is smoke there is fire

About 20% of US homes and hotels have an annual bed bug problem. Bed bugs are most prevalent in the Southeast region of the US, making up 29% of the country's total infestations. Bed bugs are least prevalent in the Northeast region of the US, with just 5% of the infestations coming from here.Apr 19, 2023 .. .so don't do what ya did to Paris.. I was just in the beautiful city of Paris for the first time in November and didn't have a worry in the world. I would have put Paris on the list fie 2024 only because of the exorbitant prices with the upcoming Olympics this summer.

Love the stats but the US doesn't an infestation. Paris had them reported...and recorded in hospitals, movie theaters, hotels, public transport....ppl can believe and do what they like but what "we did" to Paris was speak the verified truth....We don't care for the neat lie some travelers try to play out...like their experience is the only one and everyone else is lying. Paris city officials are taking action because there is a problem regardless of how anyone feels about it. No lies told here!

While I appreciate your comments. While we were there talking to to store owners and ppl who were robbed and watching cities have coordinated attacks in them there was still a large collective if ppl saying this will blow over. That's not true. He doesn't have a handle on the situation. He called a state of emergency like they always do. When he recaptures the escapees, brings order to the streets, lifts the curfew and gets control of his prisons I will believe he has control of the situation until then I will believe the statistics and what is in my face Ecuador is now a narco state and the most dangerous country in LATAM and that is saying a lot.
