I think this is a key comment for the majority of the people watching this video that just fell in love with this camera. If you’re someone shooting for social media for almost all of your work, really think about whether or not you would ever get the maximum use out of a piece of equipment like this at such a serious price point.
I always watch your content not only to learn how to shoot with complete creativity and style but also to re-encourage myself. You’re a special breed and UA-cam wouldn’t be the same without you.
Absolutely smashing video once again! I'm really glad Sony trusted you with this one⚡ Also really enjoyed your own breakdown of the camera towards the end!!! Keep it up ❤
From your previous videos, you’ve shown that you don’t need an expensive gear accumulation to create your desired project. Now a more budget intensive camera is here for you, I trust you to harness all it given features and boost your productivity. Thank you Jacques. I’ve been blessed with knowledge since I encounter your channel. You’re a great teacher.
I have been a massive follower of your content and thank you so much for making us believe that cinematic videos are not dead in UA-cam, the review of the camera and the BTS are all shown so beautifully... every shot and cuts are seamless and I really admire your creativity and willing to take risks in adding a different prospective to the production...
Another bomb dropped by Jacques. I watch your videos multiple times because there is so much to unpack. You are teaching when talking and not talking so I am locked in. Thx for sharing the new camera details, I'm a novice with a fx3 but draw inspiration from you. Thanks again mate, great work.
@@jacques_crafford I wish I could do more, but watching your videos fires up so much creativity in my novice brain it would be shame not to let you know. I tried my first attempt at a spec ad and used some of your gimbal moves, the orbit for example. I did so many things wrong but at least shot from the correct angle and proper rotation but I failed on the focal length. You gave us the blue print and thanks to you, I have the confidence to try it again.
"Very well made. Beautifully captured on screen. Alister Chapman is super clear in his explanation. Amazing man. This time, no blouse. You have really created something beautiful. Thanks. Sony should be happy with this."
You are the perfect guy to introduce this camera in-action to the community. I don't think I'd be as pumped to hear about this camera if I saw this from someone else.
This is insane! Awesome Video! Now I'm reconsidering my next camera upgrade! At first I was thinking RED Komodo but now I'm not sure! I mean internal ND and IBIS 🤯
Great review man. Especially from someone who is really working in the field directing/do the shoots and trying the equipment in many different scenarios. Love that!
Amazing video and incredible work putting all of this together dude! Wow. I cannot wait until we have the Burano on hand again. What an absolute beast!😍
man just outed himself with how well off he is "I might just get one for my bigger productions", meanwhile im dipping into my house deposit savings every month to pay for rent even with a full time job and very little outgoings..
Sorry to hear that bro. I've been saving a long time to make an investment like this. Buying this camera would be an investment because I will also rent it out as I do some of my other equipment so over time it will pay for itself!
Can this camera be used without the default monitor? Or does it always have to be used? Example, use it on a gimbal with an external Shinobi monitor attached to the handle.
Hi Jacques . This a fantastic video . Thank you so much . Please share the link for the HERO film which you mentioned here . Also advise on the rigs . Especially what matte box for the SP3 .
Thanks! I agree, cameras are just a tool but still possess the ability to make the visuals "look" better, not "feel" better. Feeling is still the most important though!
imagine if you were the cinematographer and Reilin Joey the editor , mind blowing , believe me that could be 10 times better than this version. (i know there were more than 10 person in the bts trying their best to make this cinematic video for BURANO but i'm just saying) 👌🏽🔥
What do you feel is missing from the Burano? You said multiple times the usual cliche "there's no such thing as a perfect camera," but if that's the case, then what would you change about it?
Yes that's true! The Burano is in no way perfect but in areas that I personally don't need that much for my workflow but I still wish it was better. For starters the Burano doesn't provide power to external accessories like the Venice 2 & other high end cinema cameras. The Viewfinder Loupe is not great & someone will probably make a better third party one but I expected more. The frame rates are limited in certain resolutions and modes, something I would have loved to see from the Burano was high frame rates like 240 FPS in at least 4K. That being said, I rarely shoot that slow but for the price point it would have been great to have the option. That being said, I love this camera and I really really want one!
@@jacques_crafford Cool, thanks for taking the time to reply. That's the kind of thing I look for in these videos... the specs are easy to find. I agree with a lot of that, and obviously everyone has different needs, but I'm of the opinion that a perfect camera can exist for me. :D I think, actually, we're getting darn close. As an FX6 owner, now that there is touch tracking and robust LUT control, they've fixed essentially everything except for the onboard XLRs. Not sure that's worth $25K, but I'm missing less and less these days compared to when I started. Digital has certainly come a long way, and even the more basic tools are powerful options in 2023.
@@jacques_crafford what are the odds you’d be willing to share a couple seconds of raw footage with some stranger on the internet to play around with? 🙏
Thank you! It's not about being more "stable" but about being less erratic. A mirrorless camera with IBIS can sometimes feel too "stable" and is pretty usless without it. A heavy camera gives more controlled shake because of the extra resistance but still requires good operation and extra support.
@@DJBFilmz It will depend on what kind of production you run; You approach a video clip differently than a documentary. And the way you hold the camera will also affect the stability, but for me it is very certain that after 30 years of working as a cameraman on mainly handheld documentary style programs I became more and more stable as the cameras became lighter.
This camera is rumoured to be $25,000 and the final images are marginally better than the FX6 and FX9 for most situations, even when watched offline.. I think I'd rather use that 25k for 75% of my house deposit, thank you anyway (no hate to jacques I know he's just doing a job by making these vids)
Nathan I hear you! I think it's a valid comment but taking into context who this camera is aimed at it's a pretty fair price. Yes you can produce similar looking images with an FX6 or even an FX3 but the people who will end up using this will use it for those extras that the lower end cams don't have.
Cinema camera, 16bit internal recording, autofocus, internal VND, IBIS.... Next step: do all this with OPEN GATE, Global Shutter, and RAW recording. Done, that would be it.
