Thanks Carl for the video, but actually there is an easier way than that to remove/ delete tags: Click on the tag you want to delete/ remove, then Cmnd A or select all reminders in that tag, then right click and find "add tag" in the menu, and uncheck the tag you want to delete. the same applies to Notes app on both iOS and MacOS
Hello and thank you for the video, it was very helpful. Can I ask a question here? Not sure if this is possible with iPhone but I wanted to see if you might know. I want to create a calendar event that occurs monthly (the Monday after Saturday seminar). But the Saturday seminar is not always on the second Saturday of the month because on occasion it's on the first Saturday of the month. Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you in advance.
Hi Ricci, with something like that you can create a recurring event for the second Saturday and when it is the first Saturday, you can just reschedule the event. That would be the simplest way to do it.
I want to use hashtags and have it not tag stuff in notes, how do I do that? It makes my instagram a nightmare because I have all my hostages stored in notes
Hi Robert, I think you may have come across something Apple (or other app developers) haven’t thought of. As far as I know, there isn’t a way to turn it off.
Hi Carl. in Reminders, I have a phoantom tag that will not delete even with the new delete function in ios 15.2 or Macos 12.1. It is not assigned to any reminder even a completed one. If I click on the tag it shows not reminders. If I right-click and select DELETE it looks like it s going to work but the tag never goes away.
Hi Lysander, I fear this is going to be one of those Apple bugs that stays around for a very long time before they fix it. I’m watching the usual Apple experts for work around but aside from the create a note with the tag and delete the note nothing else has popped up.
@@Carl_Pullein I was able to remove it yesterday, and I think I have some sort of solution, add the 'ghost tag' to a new note then remove it from that note and it goes away, thank you for you're content and reply.
unfortunately I pre-prepare tags for my Instagram Accounts therefore I cannot delete hashtags as you propose... Isn't there a way to tell the system NOT TO SAVE any of the words like #streetphotography as hashtags but just as normal words. Same applies to words with an @ upfront. Thanks
Hi Carl, thanks for adding the video for deleting tags. I still cannot delete a tag on my reminders. I believe the tag cannot be deleted because I selected "Convert to Smart List" at the bottom of List Info section of the Reminders App on iPhone. Do you know if I can delete a tag that is automatically created when you convert to smart list?
@@Carl_Pullein long pressing does not activate a delete menu. I even tried to uninstall and reinstall the app and it is still there. There are no active or completed lists attached the tag.
@@emendoza6363 It sounds like the tag you are struggling to remove is a ghost tag that was a known bug in the beta testing phase. It seems Apple have not fixed that bug yet, so I’m afraid until they do, it’s likely you are not going to be able to remove it.
