@@Carl_Pullein Thanks Carl! I just did that and it worked. I actually called apple 2 weeks ago about this and no one knew the answer. I cannot express how happy this makes me to see them gone.
Great video, thanks! I've finally upgraded my MBP so I can do the new reminders features. I click on UPGRADE in the reminders application and it spins for a while and then the UPGRADE returns. Doesn't seem to want to upgrade. Anyone had this happen?
Love your videos, they have really helped me to use the Apple apps to keep organised while keeping things simple which I think is the key, your system needs to be low maintenance for it to work. Keep up the good work Carl! :-)
This is great, but I don't get the option to add people to assign reminders to. Apple wasn't able to figure it out either. Has anyone encountered this as well?
I have an organizational question, if you are on a shared list that is owned by someone else, can you put that in a folder. I can’t seem to find a way. Love the videos. Trying to simplify my tasks. And using Notion for more complicated stuff.
Hi Ryan, as far as I remember, you can set that as a sub-project inside a parent one. Just move the shared project underneath the project/folder you want it placed and then drag it to the right.
@@Carl_Pullein Hey Carl, so i think my issue is the shared list is not hosted by me. And apparently if you aren’t the owner you can’t put it in a folder.. Just wanted to make you aware of this weird behavior. Unless you know of a solution. So if I owned the list i can add to folder, but if owned by someone else it can’t go in a folder. Take Care.
Hi Shyam, here's a video I did on setting up a journal in Evernote which shows you the template I use in DayOne. ua-cam.com/video/9mpFvpDvBQA/v-deo.html And here's a video I did on DayOne specifically. ua-cam.com/video/pJtQb3jH9cE/v-deo.html
You’re right and I noticed that operating between iOS and Mac have vastly different methods. Creating subtasks on Mac? simply drag task on top of another… creating a subtask in iOS? Still trying to figure out a quick way to do it
Are tags shared if a list is shared. I would love to use this with my team as we all use Apple Products. Bought your Apple Course. Thanks so much Carl.
I had two tags created on iOS beta just to try it out, but has never been able to delete the tags agen. And I was hoping to remove them in Monterey yesterday, but NO!
This may sound like a small thing to some (pun intended) but, unless this is different in Monterey, there seems no way to zoom in or increase font size on MacOs. Everything seems a bit small to me. In Todoist it’s quick and easy to zoom in and out using the keyboard. While I doubt Reminders will every be as full-featured as Todoist it is getting there in terms of helpful features. I use it for a few things even though i can’t quite leave Todoist as my main task tracking workhorse.
not very practical, i was trying for an hour to set up a daily reminder, I couldnt, in my phone it took me 1 minute, Not good apple, medriocre UX design right there
Reminders is really aesthetically pleasing to be honest
It is. It's even better on iOS
How do you delete tags? I can’t figure it out. I have tried almost everything. Including deleting all my tasks and completed tasks….
That is a great question that I have not been able to find the answer to
@@drdentrepair5530 hmm…
Hi Aleksander, if you clear all the tasks associated with the tag (including the completed ones) the tag will disappear.
@@Carl_Pullein Thanks Carl! I just did that and it worked. I actually called apple 2 weeks ago about this and no one knew the answer. I cannot express how happy this makes me to see them gone.
@@Carl_Pullein no, that’s what I’m trying to say. I have tried all that. So I think there is something wrong regarding these two tags.

Hi Rocco, you cannot "upgrade" Reminders. It's part of the system software. To get the latest version make sure you are using MacOS Monterey.
How did you get those extra colours? I only have a few ...
You can change the colours of your lists by clicking on the "I" button at the side. There you have quite a few options.
Love your videos, they have really helped me to use the Apple apps to keep organised while keeping things simple which I think is the key, your system needs to be low maintenance for it to work. Keep up the good work Carl! :-)
Thank you, Alan. Glad you like them.
Fantastic video. Believe it or not your shopping list reminded me that I need to set one up myself in reminders. I will subscribe
Hahahaha, works well for that, Jav.
This is great, but I don't get the option to add people to assign reminders to. Apple wasn't able to figure it out either. Has anyone encountered this as well?
That's a strange one. Never come across that before.

@@RyanTurner Ah, yeah, that makes sense. At the moment there's no known workaround, sadly.
Thanks, Carl. You’re great at explaining things.
Can you do a video on how to & what to journal in Day One?
I’m starting my journaling practice today!

How would I set a reminder that , reminds me every 2 hours?
Click the “I” button and the right of the task and turn on time. From there you can set it to repeat every 2 hours.

Ooh, you're right, I haven't figured that out yet either. Will be doing some research over the next week or two to figure it out.

Not that I am aware of, Derek. I though it might be possible if you set up a smart list, but you can't share a smart list.
Great video! Thank you, Carl!
Thank you!

Hi Aleksander, have you tried deleting all the tasks associated with that tag? Not just uncompleted ones, but completed ones as well?
@@Carl_Pullein yes, at this very moment I have 0 (zero) tasks in Reminders, including completed tasks.
@@ditchcomfort hmm that’s very strange. I’m recording a video on this tomorrow so will look into it further.
@@Carl_Pullein thanx. I’ve also tried to delete and install the app on my phone, but can’t get rid of them 😜

Yep, I'd have to agree with you there. Reminders on the desk top is not very good :-(
