Sir David attended the Centre Court at Wimbledon yesterday, to enjoy the first day of the Wimbledon Fortnight. He was afforded a standing ovation as soon as the crowd saw him, passing David Beckham in the Royal Box. At 98, he remains amazingly sprightly.

I would take the words and advice of David Attenborough over anyone on the face of the Earth. Hes probably been to more places than anyone in the world and has seen it change for nearly a 100 years! He seen with his own eyes the effects of things like climate change, deforestation and poaching etc

I salute you for correcting yourself immediately to say "Attenborough is an INTERnational treasure". You clearly "get it". 👏
The reason why meeting Obama was important was because Obama was actually interested in the conversation, recognised and deferred to Attenborough's expertise, and asked some genuinely insightful questions, not just the photo op.
He also went on to shape some of his policy on the advice of such an expert.
Can you imagine Dubbya or Trump doing the same?

David Attenborough was born about two weeks after (or before?) our late Queen Elizabeth II, I don't remember his birthdate but the Queen's birthday/date was 21st April 1926...so he must've been _98_ this year. If he doesn't receive something like a "state funeral" there's no justice in this world... Can _any_ of us imagine a world without that man? 😮🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿♥️🇬🇧🖖

Hi Connor, that Elk call was surprising, such a high-pitched sound for such a large animal. Although Sir David began his stellar career back in 1954, his brother Richard, Lord Attenborough had already been a film actor for more than ten years. You'd know him best as the owner of Jurassic Park, he was also a director, Gandi, A Bridge Too Far, and others.

I think the reason the Obarma clip was included is to highlight just how well repected Sir David is. There are probably plenty of scientists the president could go to for advice but by talking to Sir David someone not only an expert but widely loved. It would emphasis that the President was taking this seriously and that it would maybe get the message across to the audience as Sir David is so well known. It made for good TV rather than someone the public didnt know.

2:37 You have a valid point regarding what is known as 'sexual selection'. The main investment is usually carried out by females, developing and raising the young for the most part over the males. As such, many sexual species have evolved strategies wherein the females select males on the basis of certain traits usually, but not always, contributing to fitness (meaning the amount of offspring produced, as well as quality therein)..
Anyway, I only commented to point out your use of 'female species' and 'male species'. Perhaps that was just cutting your words down instead of saying 'female/male *members of a species'.*

I like wombles. Theyre my favourite animal. Tidy little sods. This shows the man has to make all of the effort.🤣

A man pushed in front of my wife a few years ago at an art exhibition in London; she turned round to me and said "did you see that rude man?". I said "yes, did you see who it was?"..she looked round: it was David Attenborough.

I know it's just a game but Ark Survival is pretty much the same, where males tend to have the more extravagant colours and patterns, not all the time you can find females that are awesome too, but it's mostly males that do. I guess showing off is nature's way of natural selection and I'd love Connor to do a reaction to *ALL ARK TRAILERS*
Go on, I'm pretty sure you'd love it, go on and yes I'm playing The Center on my channel rn so go check that out if you want to 🙂

The UK produces great naturalists on a conveyor belt - Charles Darwin, Johnny Morris, Jane Goodall, Terry Nutkins, Chris Packham, Gerald Durrell (though he was born in India). It is said that if Britain is ever without a great naturalist, Tower Bridge will collapse into the Thames 😉

It was significant that Obama and Attenborough were both concerned with climate change and it should be in the top ten.

Your dumb, the amount of screen time that Mr Attenborough has had, that political stunt bullshit episode, shouldn't be in the top one hundred

You are completely right, that Obama clip is possibly the most impactful of them all, and still the climate change deniers (which I don't really think McJibbin is, though I may be wrong) are out in force in the comments. In any case, almost all the animals featured are in danger because of human activity, not necessarily connected to climate.

But possibly not as impactful over the long term. Watching cuddly gorillas might be memorable and make you feel good, but does little to help the gorillas having their habitats reduced due to human activity
