Thank you so much for sharing. Your closeup footage demonstrated slowly and clearly makes it really easy to see how the stitch is formed and that - for me - makes it so much easier to remember.

Think I should give this a go. Might take some practice. Thanks Norman

I have learned so much from you! I never even thought about the cast on, but seeing the difference in how it looks, I will try the purl-wise "knitted" cast-on!
With your help, I knitted my 1st pair of socks 2 yrs ago (after having knitted many singletons over the years!). Love your very clear instructions!

Great tutorial Norman. You explain the techniques so thoroughly. With regard to the knitted cast on, can you go under and up through the stitch instead of going down into it? Have a wonderful week! Thanks for another great video!🤗🤗

Out of necessity, I began using a Norwegian purl cast-on for top-down sweaters. When it came time to divide for the sleeves and cast on a few stitches, I noticed that I was facing the wrong side, so a purl type of cast-on was called for in my mind. It doesn't have to be a Norwegian purl, but it keeps me in practice.

Thanks so much, Norman! Would a rib cast on work? I can't see a reason why out wouldn't, at least with the knitted cast on 🤷 Thank you for even putting the idea in my head 💕

i am not sure I udnerstand this question entirely? yes, you can use this for ribbing (alternating normal and purlwise according to your rib repeat).
