Damn Ben, for someone who says he hates doing bodywork, you sure are good at it! Your attention to detail is amazing. I could watch you work all day. (The truth is that I prefer watching *other* people work instead of me doing it.) Anyway, great video - I'm sure that Mustang will turn out as beautiful as all of your projects.

Ben can I suggest that you need to use a shop vac when blocking the bondo and glaze this will keep your shop much cleaner and eventually keep The paintwork cleaner to beep up the great work.

It was one thing to even tackle repairing the lid, it was impressive as to how close you came and even more impressive that you didn't think it good enough and cut your loses; most people having got so far and so close would have settled for it being "close enough".
Great work Ben! Even with all of the time, and effort you spent trying to fix that hood, you knew it wasn't going to be up to your standards. You take a lot of pride in your work, and it shows.

@14:37 that’s why instead of putting straight bondo on first I’ve either used ankle hair fiberglass or duraglass than bondo, it’s sturdier.. but I commend you in showing us that your man enough to call it quits when the repair isn’t working to your expectations…awesome work .

Respect Ben, replacing the hood 👍 would've been so easy to "hide" the cracks. Quality job by a quality guy.

You need a dust/air filtration/extraction system. Both for your health and to keep the workshop clean. There is a reason most body shops aren't painted black, they show dust!
At least you tried to repair that hood excellent effort, I would have completely spazed out and jumped on it.

The color on the parts is called Vapor Blue. Looking good, I've got a 2024 GT in the same color, atlas blue and it's awesome.

Tuned, I've learned so much from watching you work. What happened to the shop kitty, I miss seeing it.
I believe in spraying an epoxy-primer on the bare metal before adding the body filler.
Ben...telling us about future "cracks" in the hood..kitty..licking her "crack"..lol. at least your honest with your repairs unlike some other shops out there...keep up the honesty and the vids!!

You may want to invest in a festool system for sanding.
Have you ever tried getting an area like the roof repair getting it really hot then putting ice cold water on it to shock the dents out
