Audio quality is very important to me too, being totally blind I rely on sound. I have several different podcast studio mixers and I don’t need a soundproof room because they have noise gate on them and I also have a mic preamp and processor called DBX 200 86S. All my Studio mixers have tactile buttons, but the Rodecaster pro has a Touch screen I can’t use and I wish it would talk like the iOS devices do but it has some buttons so I use what I am able to use on it. I used to think that recording studios had to be soundproof and that’s what I wanted until I got this stuff and all this equipment that has noise cancellation and the mic preamp so now I don’t have to worry about that because when I use these things nobody can tell that I am doing this from home, people who don’t know will think that I am in a big professional studio and Innoway I am but I am not in a professional studio building away from home, I’m doing this all from my house and lots of people do that these days when it comes to recording or broadcasting or anything like that, basically you don’t need one of those big professional studios away from home anymore. You can get the same quality that you get in one of those big studios so nobody can tell any difference, I was always interested in this kind of stuff and I want to be in show business and do some sort of entertainment so I am on social media now I’m on UA-cam and Facebook live and I sometimes perform, or do Little radio shows just for fun. I even have A couple of vocoders to, and the are also tactile with buttons.
Such a great walkthrough. Really appreciate the detail. Obviously cost does come into the subject. But now you've got me hunting for that Apollo unit. Spotted one at half the cost price but it's 800 mile round trip to collect it. Keep it up. Great job and well deserved success to you.
Your new microphone is not overkill. That is one spot that should never be fulfilled by fluff. Just like in audio playback, where the speakers are where one needs to pay the most attention to. Well in this case that microphone makes you sound natural. By the way, what did you do with your old mic? Miss seeing you at the tank.

One other topic rarely covered is power. All of this gear needs a decent power supply. Most home studios are running off multiboards and outlets can get maxed out very quickly. Any thoughts?
