I recommend getting the DBX286s, second hand is like 100 bucks, but it's 1 per mic, but if you do alot of podcast, you can get EQ-ed audio straight into your camera.
Perspective: There is too much compression in the audio department. Bring in the room more w/ some reverb or something. Kinda threw me off trying to place his voice in the same room. Great content though!
Thank you ❤️ I haven't started yet. I've been trying not to talk myself out of doing it. I've written down some ideas for my podcast, I just need to do it. I appreciate your kind words.
My friend and I just started a podcast. We’re out of Las Vegas as well. Just wanna say thank you so much for your guys content. It’s helped tremendously. Can’t wait to have a studio like this!
Just remember guys, rule of thumb in video is that audio is more important than your video, especially in podcasts. Use cheap cameras, and invest it in your audio gear.
Always great seeing what’s cooking behind the scenes. My big dream is to have a studio and rent space for podcasts / video shoots, so I really love this one.
HELLO TO ALL MY VEGAS LOCALS!! This video was really helpful, I been trying to start my own podcast/ creative space but starting from ground zero lol thank you! if you ever open your podcast to guest let me know!
Great info! Do I need multiple cameras for recording two people beside each other? Wondering if you can take the single video and zoom in and out on each person.
I would love to see a video on how to get viral videos on UA-cam in the music industry. It's different from other niches and the videos are in different styles. For example drumming videos: no talking and no hook, just drumming for the whole video. How would you manage to get viral or popular from those kind of videos? Just a thought.
Love your videos you have taught me a lot. I do have to disagree about the Samsung mic, it sounds nowhere near the SM7b. For $100 it probably sounds good, but I think the SM7b is worth the price. I am seeing them for $400 yes I know 4x the Samsung but you do get what you pay for. However, I should have said this video was awesome I saw some ideas for things I wasn't aware of thank you so much for going into detail!
Part of the reason people pay for the SM7B is because they’re super cardioid. don’t have to treat the room as much. If you keep your mouth close to the kid, the extra $400 per SM7B could save you the $3600 on acoustic panels
What is the best SD card to buy for the Sony ZV-E10 camera for vlogging and occasionally for pictures? (It can be any brand and then for the SanDisk brand)
I love these type of videos and I somehow feel youtube does not have enough of them. Thanks for this...btw, am in the process of building my own yt studio.
Im about to set up my podcast area. I have the Rodecaster with 4 zoom mics for my audio but will probably only use 1-2 mics getting started. The question is if you connected your mics to your main Sony camera how does that translate to your other cameras for second and third angles in final edit? I hope this is a good question lol!! I’m very new!!
thank you! this everything that I needed! started my own podcast soon added everything to my cart! do you know any computer programs I should use on my Mac for editing?
Great video. The Sony FX30 is pricey for an "Entry Level" camera for podcasters at $1,798 before you add any lenses. A Logitech 4K webcam is the real entry level.
I would LOVE to suggest some alternatives with the Video/Audio set Omar is running right now (As I currently am running a SIMILAR setup).. 1. ABSOLUTELY spend the money on 1 FX30, it is an awesome workhorse APSC camera that can be multifunctional (not only for podcast use) in your arsenal, but instead of buying the XLR version, I'd purchase the camera body alone, and with the extra $400 purchase either a Zoom H6 or H3 (h3 has less inputs BUT 32 bit float) and run that audio straight into the camera body. 2. As for the the other two camera bodies, grab 2 Sony ZV-E10's!!! I cant stress enough how WELL these cameras work as in studio b cams, the picture quality is Super nice for talking heads on a tripods and when paired with the FX30 in post they are SUPER easy to match video colors in post! and the beauty is! you can buy TWO ZV-E10's for the price of ONE FX30.. 3. The lenses that Omar chose for the wide and solo shots are pretty much exactly what id grab as well (1 sigma 16mm, 2 sigma 56mm) those will treat you well. 4. *extra* If you go the route of not buying the FX30 w/ top handle, you could also save some. money and buy the camera second hand (ebay, craigslist, facebook market place) save some cash on the tax side of the purchase, and with that little extra saved money, but a Rodecaster Duo! I have the Rodecaster pro 2 and LOVE it!!! but if the Rodecaster DUO was available when I first purchased my Pro 2, I would have gone with the Duo for its smaller more portable size! Its the exact same internals and sound quality, just with Two XLR ports and not 4. Awesome setup Omar! Studio looks awesome! Beautifully done walkthrough as well!
What's up man! I've watched a few of your videos with podcast set up and audio/video syncing. I get having the XLRs hooked into your middle camera, but 1. how do you adjust the audio from the R/L you talked about. 2. How do you incorporate the additional angles in post production to sync with the audio? Thanks!
Great video as always Omar. Your studio tour videos are always so comprehensive and informative. I do want to say this because I don't know if it is intentional to get engagement in the form of commenting on it, but "infamous" means famous for bad quality or negative reasons. I've heard you say this on a few videos now when you are complimenting a piece of gear you like, but you referred to it as infamous. I don't mean to be critical in a negative way or grammar policing, but I just wated to let you know it might be having the opposite effect of what you are intending. Keep up the great work and keep these style videos coming because they are immensely helpful for beginners.
Thank you for your great videos! The Sony FX30 looks great. Can a Sony ZV-E10 handle a 90+ minute live streaming interview without overheating? or do you recommend the Sony FX30 over it? Thank you!
What would be a cheaper alternative for a Camera for someone who’s just starting a pod for the first time? Someone who doesn’t want to spend as much as $2k on a camera? I wish I had the means for that but getting multiple angles with 3 cameras would make it super challenging to budget that as a low/middle class person lol
Okey, very nice 👌🏾 let’s say I buy the same setup and I have 1 client/4 people. How much would I charge per session? And is it better to have Mic 🎤 arms or is it ok with dji or rode go ?
Hello, I only have a shotgun mic, can I use that to start a podcast, would that be okay or will people think am crazy? Thanks and I really love your setup

Which floor stands do you use for the rode boom arms? I have no chance to clamp them anywhere. Looks nice.
You can also bolt into the wall
What do you do with the other mics when you have 4 people on your show? Do you have a mic floor stand?
This is so valuable content. I like the fake fireplace 😅 I was so convinced that you were shooting the podcast in your living room 😂

@ThinkMediaTV - Curious what was the total cost of building out your LA studio? Construction, property lease, hardware, software, etc. thx!
SWEET! What material did you use for your sound panels?
Hi Omar where you get the white and black wall divder?
Nice
Great video! Amazing studio!! Definitely goals! How did you mount the Rode PSA to the mic that Nolan was using in the shot with the three of you guys.
The Samson q2u is not / no longer available. Which budget mic do you then advice?
are you using any filters on your lens or is there any effect you're adding in post...The quality looks great!
Do you use switchers? And do switchers produce 4K outputs?
Do these mics you talked about connect to an iPhone? Or which do you recommend that do ? Please and Thankyou
How did you know where to place the sound panels?
Can a Interface work
I have a quick question!
What can I replace the Sony xlr handle unit with? I just can’t afford the price & need to find a budget friendly one!
Okey, very nice 👌🏾 let’s say I buy the same setup and I have 1 client/4 people. How much would I charge per session?
And is it better to have Mic 🎤 arms or is it ok with dji or rode go ?
Please make a video about how you would set this up much more cheaply with 3 iPhones and 2 quality mics. Thanks.
I just bought a rode caster pro 2 and have a couple mics. Would I need to have the xlr's into the camera or does the rode caster do that?
Great video. I have a sports podcast that Im trying to develop on a budget and need all the help I can get.
Curious to know how far the 56mm lens is from the person you are filming?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What kind of settings do you use for the cameras?
Where is the mic from clipped on your t shirt
What is the name of the microphone stand that the guy in the middle is using?
(Sitting on the couch 0:45)
Do you use an Intervalometer to break 30 min recording limit? If not, what do you use?
What’s the best budget alternative to the Rode boom arm?
Hello, I only have a shotgun mic, can I use that to start a podcast, would that be okay or will people think am crazy? Thanks and I really love your setup
Hey Omar what's up. I have a question about mics. How good is the lavalier mic far as clarity when doing a video podcast.
Great description of everything in the studio, but where can I get that hat? Cool. It's not in your store.
What if I use 2 iPhone 14 pros for my cameras? Can I use that for now?
I used a foldable eating table from Walmart 😊
Jordan 1’s?
Im late but in a small room, can I get away with just using 1 light to light them both
