  • As I wrap up my assessment of Protestantism in contrast with Orthodoxy, I look at the topics of liturgical worship, the priesthood, and iconography in this episode. And lastly, I draw my final conclusions about Protestantism.

It’s amazing isn’t it? You could walk most of your life and never know about the Orthodox Church. As an American, I have been completely blind from its existence, and it’s just amazing to me. Everything I feel the Protestant church is getting wrong is being made clear to me as I learn more about the early church.

Like the guys comment above mine, Paul calls Timothy his spiritual son. And tells him that yes we may have many instructors in Christ, yet we have NOT MANY FATHERS. He's literally calling himself Timothy's spiritual father. Also, if we obey Christ, are we not spiritual children of Abraham, and therefore he's our spiritual father? The scripture many Protestants refer to about us not calling anyone father? It's hyperbole. Just like when Jesus tells us to hate our father and mother to be worthy of Him, it's hyperbolic. We aren't actually supposed to hate our parents haha. I spent most my life as a Protestant and made these same mistakes

While you’re correct that it’s not within the scope of this particular series to “prove” that God exists, I mention that explicitly in the first video. This is the sixth. But thank you for the suggestion! I’d be happy to cover it in the future. For now though, why should the burden be on me to “prove” God exists to you? Isn’t it equally valid for me to ask you to “prove” that God doesn’t exist? I could apply the exact same line of argumentation you just employed to your own worldview. But I do plan to address this further in another series of videos, so thank you for the idea!

*For now though, why should the burden be on me to “prove” God exists to you?
Because the burden of proof lays with the one who is making the positive statement...in this case, you saying 'god exists'. I don't believe that claim, therefore, YOU have the burden of proof. I never said 'god doesn't exist' as I cannot be 100% positive of that, just like I cannot be 100% positive that leprechauns don't exist, but I lead my life as though they do not, since there has never been sufficient demonstration/evidence to warrant my belief, in leprechauns or gods. How did you disprove the THOUSANDS of other gods? Following your logic, you must have disproved all the others before you settled on this one, no? I am sorry my friend, but your logic is flawed.

@@brodmitkase I have and it is NOT convincing...and not only that... how many of your fellow believers even have an idea of TAG? Is this what makes them believers? hahahaha.... or is it possibly their indoctrination from the cradle that makes them believers? You believers use arguments like this in defence of your beliefs, but they are NOT the basis of your beliefs...at least if you are honest. These arguments were developed as counters to those who do not believe or believe differently. Even if I granted you TAG was convincing... which 'god'?? It does not specify... so how do you get from 'there is a god' to 'this god'? It only gets you as far as a creator god... but not a particular one and there are many of them in our species' history.
