  • In this video I show the SONOS ZP100, all of the connectors and cover as many scenarios I can think of in which it still shines. I also show the SONOS S1 iOS App to demonstrate some of the features and options for selecting and listening to Music, Radio, Podcasts & Audio books.
    Although it is a discontinued model, it has been replaced by units which offer fewer connection options, making the ZP100 unique in its features whilst remaining awesome sounding and exceptionally well built. For those who would like to add Bluetooth there are several low cost 3rd party options available which easily connect to the Audio input ports.
    I made this as a Sales document, and it should be useful for anyone exploring the SONOS ecosystem and specifically the ZP100.

    Q: Am I able to play the music from my Chromecast device to the (in-ceiling) speakers connected through the ZP100? For ex, I have a Chromecast device (Chromecast with Google TV) that is currently connected to my TV from where I stream Netflix, etc.

    • @philbinks
      @philbinks  8 місяців тому +1

      only if the Chromecast device is wired connected to your ZP100 inputs.

      All Sonos devices can be linked wirelessly, however there is no audio wired 'Input' on a Sonos 1. I'd recommend connecting 'normal' loudspeakers to a ZP100, also you can add your external music source such as a TV or record player (There is only one audio inputs so you would need to have an output from a preamplifier for instance to enable you to add multiple devices) and beam the sound wirelessly to your other Sonos speakers.

    We have a Denon Receiver that drives our 5.1 speakers, has a NAS server as the source of our music library. Should we plug from the Denon to the ZP100 inputs, making our receiver act as a pre-amp? We cannot currently get the Sonos to go to our 5.1 speakers or recognize our music library.

      It is possible that the Denon would be better with it's more modern options of 5.1 etc. I suggest using the Sonos a source into your Denon. You should be able to get the Sonos to recognize a NAS Music library.

    se pueden conectar unas sonos play1 a el ZP100?

    • @HelpfulPhil
      @HelpfulPhil 5 місяців тому

      Sí, puede conectar todos los dispositivos Sonos a la misma red Sonos, sin embargo, el Z P100 requiere la antigua aplicación Sonos S1 si la está utilizando en un dispositivo móvil.

    Just want to clarify before I pull the trigger. I will be able to connect book shelf speakers to the app, as well as running the TV audio through the app to the speakers (I’m happy to do this over Wi-Fi on my Apple TV or through some cable to my TV). Is that doable in your opinion?

    • @HelpfulPhil
      @HelpfulPhil 2 роки тому +1

      You can only connect and control Sonos hardware products with the Sonos S1 or S2 Controller App's. Sonos harware may allow devices, such as Speakers, to be connected, but the app only controls the Sonos hardware. Refer to the official Sonos website for the current hardware product line up and features.

      @@HelpfulPhil thanks so much this is super helpful. I couldn’t find a clear answer as to whether the Sonos amp was the solution to playing audio from the TV through my old speakers. Guess this is a miss for me 😭

    • @philbinks
      @philbinks  2 роки тому

      @@number2nd make sure you read my response clearly ! Did you mean to write 'Amp' when you wrote 'app' ? ...of course you can connect a TV audio out to a Sonos Amplifier. Just make sure your audio out options from the TV connect to your chosen Sonos Amplifier. The Sonos App controls the Sonos hardware Amplifier, not the TV or the speakers, but by proxy provides volume control (and other aspects) of the speaker sound.

    • @philbinks
      @philbinks  Рік тому

      you'd have to add an Airplay compatible device (e.g. Apple TV) to the Phono Input.

    is this working a vinyl player connected via RCA ? and is it possible to diffuse the music to a sonos beam and one speakers from this ZP100 ? thank you
    and by the way thank you for the great video

    • @philbinks
      @philbinks  2 роки тому

      Yes it can have a vinyl record player (Preamp out) connected via the RCA input jacks, or any other 'audio device'. Yes you can share music to any other Sonos device on your system.
