How do you guys like this format for install videos and what other modifications/videos do you want to see on the my RX-8?

I loved my turboXS catback on my RX8 but it was definitely drone-y at low end. Top end was just nuts tho, perhaps better sounding than my straight piped FD.

Nice always glad to see unsponsored install videos with real talk. I know all about the regret of loud exhaust on daily, now I track a Miata with stock exhaust and have Borla on Vette daily. So backwards.

Thats a very nice exhaust you got there. Provides a more sporty sound without getting over the top and be a nuisance mainly in long road trips. In my opinion these exhaust tips are looking very nice for the RX-8, as it has a sexy curvy backside that can host a little bit more width in terms of exhaust tips.. They are ideal without getting over the top and in my opinion they are also visually neatly "aligned" with the Kojins, so thumbs up also in the visual department. I have installed 9cm width exhaust tips on my RX-8, I like them very much and I receive positive comments for them.
You have done a great job in the RX-8 project, with very wise upgrades. Keep up the good work!

Currently I only have the REV8 catback on my R3 and the rest of the exhaust is stock and it made a noticeable difference and sounds much nicer. I have a BHR resonated midpipe and some no name brand header that I’ll be installing hopefully soon, but so far I don’t mind just having the catback alone at all.
Love the video, actually thinking of buying this for my 8 also!!!
So far I am pretty happy with it. It settled into a nice tone after a few heat cycles and doesn't bother me on my commute.

It's time for mazda to release a new rotary I think knowledge is all around better than before and Mazda can make it upwards of 40,000 to 50,000 and include a mandatory maintenance plan so owners dont have a choice but to take care of it

Yeah man racing beat is good stuff. We have the resonator for 88 RX 7 turbo and sounds great! Quiets it down a lot.
Sounds amazing. Racing beat was always one of the top. Quinn I noticed the expansion tank light came on. You can unplug the connector in front of it to get rid off the light :P They all fail ! Changed one on warranty on 2008 and year later it failed again.
Great vid! I was hoping you would post about an exhaust and you did! I was a little hesitant on buying an rx8 but your channel convinced me to pull the trigger and I just got mine! I bought a 2007 RX8 GT in pristine condition with only 27k miles on her 6 speed of course. All original unmolested. I'm using your channel as a guide to all the mods I want to do. I noticed your coolant light is on and mine turns on and disappears when it wants to even though coolant levels are perfect and no leaks are occurring. Where did you get the Sohn kit btw? I've tried to order one but there's only rhd one's available.
I have the same exhaust. Love that its quiet until you get up to about 5500 rpm and then it gets pretty loud
Yeah I wouldn't want any louder than this for a daily honestly. Now that it has had some heat cycles it's a little louder.

Nice video. I was waiting for it. I want to install to my daily drive rx8 series 2 the racing beat exhaust with the twin outlet. The best would be if someone dynamometer before and after the installation of the racing beat exhaust under the same conditions (ambient temperature etc) to have some real numbers. Nice video one more time.

I am going to dyno this car once I am done with engine mods. I don't have a baseline but there are plenty of Dyno's posted for healthy stock RX-8s that will give us a good idea.

Love the video thanks for the info , I seem to have problems with cats the first one was dead when I got my 2009 type E RX-8 at 81 000 km, I'm now at 87 000 and the new one seems to have fallen apart . I don't need to have a cat by law at the moment in New Zealand would a straight through pipe drown ??. Ama at a later date instill a RB cat back

One of the very few channels I subscribed for. I can see the guy is a real racer and a very good driver. Respect. I had black RX7 more than 10 years ago, and thinking of getting RX8 to drive occasionally and as a fun car. What is the MPG with calm driving?

Should've done the exoticspeed R1-T catback. True 3 inch all the way through, lighter, and MUCH prettier to look at. And the sound is sooooo good. I have the racing beat dual resonated midpipe as well. No drone.

Id like to see them do a renesis rebuild and streetport. Show people that the rotary can,be rebuilt at home.

Great video! Install the diff from the Mk 2 RX8, the lower ratio will improve acceleration & be easily reversible if you don't like it.
The 255/35-18s are a 5% reduction in diameter over stock and creates a similar result to if I moved to the 4.77s. I don't really want gearing any shorter because highway cruise becomes annoying for me.

I noticed that about the Greddy I bought and BHR mid i bought. It's not a nice donut match, but it's not too hard to deal with -making a custom gasket and getting some nice oversized stainless bolts that you can use to torque down. The best part is that it doesn't drone so much at neutral and it only gets real loud during high rpm acceleration. Keeping a soft depressed pedal kills all the sound but the acceleration at low RPMs is a bit loud... got that ricer cred. WIthout using the stock huge resonator i don't think there's any way to find a nice medium.
Maybe it's time for the 8 to get a turbo. not a large one, but maybe a small bolt-on like all these new cars are being hit with. I'd like to see the video on that to see how the spacing works out and what you have to move around.
That's one of the reasons I went with the RB midpipe. I don't agree with them necking down right before the flanges but they know how to pack mufflers and resonators to stand up to rotary exhaust and heat. It just provides more muffling and drone deadoning then any other mufflers and resonators I have used.
love that it's not obnoxiously loud. You should be making just over 200 whp on a Mustang dyno. 2.5" is more than enough for this power level. 3" is way oversized, which kills air speed, weighs more, and is louder.
Mines at about 250 with this same racing beat catback and a catless downpipe. Also have the 6 speed model that had a 6 port 237hp engine from the factory so it's not much gains. It's also only been owned as a weekend driver for rotary enthusiasts that always maintained it properly until me. I'm a rotary enthusiast as well that maintains it properly but shes my daily as of now lol.
Exhaust isnt a ricer mod. (Race inspired cosmetic mod) exhaust is for performance as well. Yea for the RX8 it might gain 1 or 2 horsepower but the sound isnt loud it makes it sound like an exotic

Love the sound. Tasteful exhaust. Gotta let people hear the sound of the rotary. Too unique to be kept in the dark. Probably what I'll get as well. Almost went agency power but that was too loud. Did you send away your ECU to racing beat as well?
Thank you! I installed Mazda Edit and tuned all of the full throttle cells. The low and midrange stuff is already pretty good as far as power and driveability.

No Issues with the motor. I bought it with 22k miles and it now has 44k on the clock.
I have never had issues with just using a screwdriver to pop rubber hangers off. Unless really dried out and hard. Then I just cut them off and replace them.

Wow for a daily in New England, the underbody is pretty clean. I know you're big on keeping the underneath clean so what's your secret?
My secret is that I never put it on the roads when they are wet with salts and chemicals in the winter. So I guess it's more of a three season daily. I will drive it if it's cold out and the roads are dry, even if there is salt down. It's only really an issue when the salt is wet and getting flung everywhere by your tires. This car has never seen wet roads in the winter. I bought it with 22k on the clock and now with 43k it still looks almost brand new.

If you can find a Mazdaspeed cat back it's worth it. Think mines weighed maybe 30lbs. Wasn't loud, drony or raspy. Very clean and sporty note.
I looked for them but they are very rare and I couldn't get a definite piping size, but yes it was like one of the lightest offerings on the market that still used a real muffler.
Exhaust sounds nice, Now it is time to deal with that coolant level sensor light....

You know it's funny you ask that as I almost bought the Tanabe over the Racing Beat because it is less money and sounds like it would actually be lighter than stock but here is the problem I have with all of these exhausts that have the larger optimal piping diameter for N/A applications but claim to be quiet. If you look in where the tips attach to the mufflers, most of these companies use built in silencer pipes with like pea shooter IDs. I cut these out of my S2000 exhaust on my AP1 (a highly modified nVidia Q300). The Greddy Spectrum Elite on the AP2 I had was guilty of this crap also. It pisses me off because it is such a bottleneck. So seeing how loud the RB exhaust is, I am glad I didn't go with the Tanabe because even though a little lighter I would have been sacrificing flow or noise for sure.

Coolant reservoir sensor. They crap out over time. I will be addressing this in an upcoming video.
You can pull the ghetto move of unplugging it. But be on top of checking coolant if you do. Or upgrade like quinn did

Great video exhuast sounds great im still contemplating on getting an rx8 but i hear so many bad things with the renesis even with proper maintenance i kinda wanna just get an fc or a usdm fd but the rx8 is sooo sweet though!!

If you can't maintain an rx8 the FD twin turbo will deplete your wallet! Go to rx8club to read up ownership and buying guide. They are awesome. If buy them before scarcity kicks in and price goes up.

The top end definitely felt better seat of the pants. I recently dyno'ed this car and finished the tuning on it. The video is up for it.
