The 24mm f2.8 anamorphic looks really enticing. It will have about a 45mm focal length equivalent with extra room on the sides. As I prefer the look of 50mm but also would appreciate the extra side real estate, it would be very useful for general purpose shooting.
It does. The 2.8 kind of holds me back. For the time being I'll be happy with my Meike 25mm t2.2 and the Anamorphic adapter, which kind of gets me there 👍🏻👍🏻 Make sure you check that video also!
Hello Roger. I really like what you have done here. Could you please tell me your video settings on the G9 i.e. aspect ratio, recording format and also your settings on the Atomos Ninja V. Thanks a million.
Thanks!! Panasonic G9: 16:9, MOV, 4k, 25p, 422, 10 bit and HLG profile. Atomos Ninja V DNxHQ SQ (which is 4k, 422, 10bit), and I do the desqueezing in post in Davinci Resolve. I hope this answers your questions 😊
I have a PANASONIC LUMIX G9 and I have bought SIRUI 35mm OPTICS. My question is: when I open the lumix , it asks me: Current focal length setting: 35mm Change the setting?
How the IBIS (In Body Image Stabilization) works depends on the focal length, most native lenses have some electronics that "tell" the camera what focal length they are. Since the Sirui doesn't have any electronics, the camera doesn't know what to do and it asks you, so just confirm that 35mm is what you mounted.
Nice video. Not sure if I understand one thing : 50mm anamorphic for micro 4/3 is equivalent to a full frame 100mm ? I thought it would be equivalent to a 75mm because of the anamorphic.
I don't have a 50 for MFT to compare, but this gives you the equivalent in field of view of a 50mm vertically and 35mm horizontally (50*1/1.33). Nothing special in the G9, I shoot 16:9 and when desqueezing in post by 1.33 I get the 2.40ish aspect ratio.
@@RogerinFinland My Lumix G9 doesn't have anamorphic setting but my Lumix S1 does. I will wait for Sirui future lens for full frame mount L then :-) Thanks !!!
Well, for framing purposes the 1.33 squeeze is not too bad, and you can just desqueeze in post. For 2x lenses the Anamorphic modes of the S1 and GH5 in 4:3 are useful, but I don't think they're necessary in 1.33. And the Sirui lenses cover S35, but not full frame so I doubt they'll release them for L-mount unless they release a new set of full frame anamorphics, but I'm pretty sure they'd be priced quite differently as well!

Nicely done, the G9 works very well with this sirui anamorphic lens. Excited to try the sirui 35mm with my G9 👍
Have you seen the announcement!? I'm gonna skip the 35mm, save some more and wait for the 24mm 😁

@@RogerinFinland ooooh, muchas gracias...good
De nada!
thank you for the video! have you had any luck using the 6k video option on the g9 with the anamorphic lens? would be amazing to know the results.
That I haven't tried, but it sounds like a fun challenge 😊 I'll see if I get to it soon. Thanks for the tip!

I tried to explain it along the video, but maybe not well enough 😅 100mm equivalent vertically, and 75mm equivalent horizontally 👍🏻
@@RogerinFinland ooooh ok, I was a bit confused but now I get it ! Thanks :)
6:27 this taken with sirui 50mm?
Yep 😊 everything in this video, except parts showing the lens itself were recorded with the Sirui 50mm anamorphic
Where is the setting for anamorphic in the G9? I can't find it.
There isn't one. I just shoot "squeezed" and desqueeze in post. With 1.33x anamorphic is still doable.

good video
Thanks! Glad you likes it! 😊👍🏻
Shame. I wanted to see comparisons with normal 50mm and this lens angle vision to compare them. I also wonder how you setup your G9 for anamorphic.

I love your video, however x1.33 anamorphic is just hugly as hell
Thanks for the comment on the video. What is that you don't like about 1.33x? You just get a fairly common 2.35:1 aspect ratio, right?
lol cool bug shots
Thanks!! 😊
