Not only was Shae in Tywin's bed, she was calling him "my lion" (the term of endearment she had for Tyrion that she threw in his face during the trial) and she was wearing the necklace of the Hand of the King - something that also used to belong to Tyrion. Gross. Poor Tyrion.
nah in the books, Tyrion is a monster and a villain (GRRM said so himself). Shae did all of those things because she was forced to. You really think she has any agency???? Also in the book Shae doesn't even fight back or reach for the knife, he just kills her in cold blood.
With the show version of Shae, her biggest failing was her complete inability to comprehend life at court and the politics involved. She didn't understand why Tyrion had to marry some other woman, thus she was very jealous of Sansa and assumed that Tyrion *wanted* to marry her. When Tyrion told her she was a whore and needed to leave, she wasn't savvy enough to realize that he was trying to protect her, so in her mind he never loved her and everything was a lie. Her decision to betray him and sleep with his father makes more sense in that context,. From her perspective, he led her on and then discarded her when she became inconvenient.
@@jessicaslater4243honestly she is one of my least favourite characters. @@cmxpiipl But she allowed love to blind her. We cannot forget that we see both sides, in every conversation. The characters only know what they see or ear... Do i approved Shae behave? No! Because her jealousy push her to do bad things. Be a prostitutes means that Shae probably had face harsh, bad, mean guys. When a lord like Tyrion did treat her right and did show her love, its easy to allow love to blind. I feel that people sees "oh its tyrion that she betrayed, so i need to go against her, not understand her, because i love so much tyrion". But again the court and streets are two different places. Even Cersei that was somehow educated to be in a court, do such terrible mistakes by not understanding her surroundings, luckily she had Tyrion or Tywin to fix them.
Tyrion killing Tywin would have made more sense if they had stuck to the books. In the books, Jamie admits to Tyrion as they are escaping, that his first wife, Tysha (the one that Tywin paid all of his soldier to defile in front of Tyrion.), was actually in love with Tyrion. But Tywin convinced Jamie to lie to Tyrion and say that it was all set up. That was the driving force behind Tyrion killing both Shae and Tywin.
I feel like they still managed to make it work here by reworking Shae's motivations. Remember that Shae in the books didn't care as much about Tyrion as she does in the show, as she was only really in it for the money and prestige, whereas in the show she loved Tyrion and her decision to betray him was rooted in her belief that he'd gotten tired of her and was discarding her. It's another example of them combining multiple characters from the book into a composite character, which was necessary given the show *already* had a lot of named characters for a TV series.

I only just realized something. The man from Braavos has an immense amount of respect for the Faceless Men, but seems confused that a young girl like Arya would have that coin. I think he believes that Arya actually is one of the Faceless. Of course her age might make him wonder about the possibility of her being a new recruit, but he's got to assume she already could be one and he should treat her that way.
it's a very understood custom in braavos and also to a lesser extent in the other free cities depending how much someone has learned about them is that if you somehow recognise or encounter one of the faceless gods servants you have ether interfered with something you should leave alone or they have been sent to kill you they are treated in braavos as part of the city's foundation and should be left alone.
Faceless Men can be anyone, the reason the captain is so friendly and why everyone mentions "remember my name" is because faceless men are not allowed to kill people they know and they want to make sure she knows who they are to protect themselves.

One of my top 3 favorite finales. Tywin played his last game of thrones. You win or you die. Fun fact: the finale aired on Father’s Day in 2014. Another Emmy Award worthy performance for Peter Dinklage! The reason he didn’t leave immediately was Tyrion wanted to confront Tywin on why he sentenced him to die knowing he was innocent. Tyrion was willing to risk his chance of escape to gain closure on the issue. Some months later after Father’s Day, they showed the last two episodes of Season 4 in select IMAX theaters! Most stories set-up the story by telling you "This is who you root for...this is who you boo." Game of Thrones likes to play in grey area. When Brienne and Tyrian, you really aren't sure who to root for. The audience relationship with Jamies is probably the most extreme example of this phenomenon.
This whole show has been putting legendary warriors in situations where they face the handicap - Jamie, half starved and handcuffed; Sandor, exhausted from infection; the Viper, overcome by his own hubris; Arthur Dayne, two on one. I think the point GRRM is trying to make is that seldom will the conditions be right for anyone to win hands down. I still think Bobby B at his peak would have defeated all of them except maybe for Arthur Dayne. Just my thoughts.
To me in the final scene, Arya was at the stern of the boat, looking at the life she was leaving behind. She ran to the bow looking forward to her new life.
Wow! I forgot how good this episode was from beginning to end. I only remembered Tyrion's end. Great video, Hannah. See you at Stranger Things. A great, great show!
The three people working for Tyrion are Bronn, Shae, and Pod. Pod works for duty. Shae and Bronn work for gold. Tyrion introduced Bronn to Tywin as an unscrupulous mercenary. Tyrion forgets Tywin is richer than him. Then Bronn shows up with Shae and no explanation for her. Tywin co-opted Bronn from the start and he planted Shae on Tyrion. Tywin used both of them to spy on Tyrion. In the second book, Bronn says Tommen would be a more tractable king than Joffrey and Tyrion is aghast. Tywin planned on removing Joffrey in favor of Tommen, but someone beat him to it. Pod and Varys never encourage Tyrion to stand up to Tywin, but Bronn and Shae do all the time. How did Tyrion get a beautiful young woman in the middle of Tywin’s army (everyone knows his father doesn’t respect him) so quickly? She was Tywin’s already. If you don’t like that idea, then, my next favorite theory for Shae is that she is one of Oberyn Martell’s bastard daughters helping in his long con to destroy the Lannister’s with poison. In the books Tywin has been poisoned and is already dying whe killed by Tyrion. This theory dovetails nicely with my theory that he intended to poison Tyrion at Joffrey’s wedding. Joffrey was actually poisoned from the cream sauce on Tyrion’s pie. He was actually killed slightly before the Tyrell’s could poison his wine.
Loving your reactions Hannah! Would enjoy seeing you react to the Histories and Lore videos too, there's one for each season, and it really does help to fill in a lot of gaps that there's just not enough time to explain. Can't wait for Stranger Things too ❤

damn it, i told myself, i wouldnt rewatch GoT after ten years, but i really enjoy her reaction, god i hate what will happens
Wow! I forgot how good this episode was from beginning to end. I only remembered Tyrion's end. Great video, Hannah.
See you at Stranger Things. A great, great show!
Hanna saying, ‘I am speechless’…..yeah right…😂
Those earrings look soooo good with that shirt 😍
More Hannah means more LIFE
Sunday treat - go on then!
Don't worry Hannah, Jon and Ygritte are happily married in real life!
Lol "This is a nice scenario." Then Breann and The Hound.
I think this is the best episode, so much comes together
Season 4 of Game of Thrones is peak TV, especially when Arya leaves Westeros and the music kicks in 🤯
"Hhhmmmmmg but they don't have any tea" solid gold
Yay!!! Game of thrones and Stranger things are my 2 favorite shows. Cannot wait to see your reactions ❤
The simple answer is that they are magic and therefore are stronger. Magic covers a lot.
that was one of the longest waits between series 4 & 5
got you on Stranger Things - and came here for this afterwards - Stranger Things and GOT are two of the best shows EVER
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
20:25 "I don't have a cup of tea tho"
😭😭
Earl Grey, with a dash of sugar and a splash of milk is the best tea.. I'm also a dumb American.
There’s a black tea, PG Tips. It’s completely ruined me for Lipton! 🤣🤣🤣
I will always favor chai tea. Sugar or not, with a little bit of cream or milk it is sooooo good.
@@TheBlackLakeSiren I need to drink Chai tea more. I really do enjoy it.
@@rickrunge4962 Make it homemade. So good. Iced or hot. I like mine strong. Great breakfast tea.
@@TheBlackLakeSiren I'll do that tomorrow actually. We have major winter storm hitting tonight. So it's gonna be a perfect day for it.
one of the best episodes in my opinion
“They haven’t got any tea, though” LMAO
Thanks Hannah🎉
Loving your reactions Hannah! Would enjoy seeing you react to the Histories and Lore videos too, there's one for each season, and it really does help to fill in a lot of gaps that there's just not enough time to explain. Can't wait for Stranger Things too ❤
