My grandmothers uncle fought against the Germans in France at Mousetrap Farm in 1915, he was gassed himself and killed at 17/18 years of age. A lot of the men spent the weeks before digging trenches and graves for their friends in the frozen ground, getting shelled. A zeppelin air raid by the Germans as well, which must have been something else to see. As an Irishman fighting on England’s side my family didn’t find this out until about 60 years later as they were IRA men in that family and he was more or less disowned. Out of 600 odd men in the Dublin regiment sent to mousetrap farm only 20 something survived. What they must have been thinking seeing the gas roll towards them and they didn’t retreat, with only a soaked white cloth over their nose and mouth.
All war is terrible but I do believe that world war 1 was the worst war in the current history of humanity.
It's only by the grace of God that anybody walked out of that with their sanity intact

The Bolschewiki seized power in 1917. In 1915 there was no Soviet Union.
So it's the Russian Empire.
It's Osowiec (Ossowitz in German), not "Soviet", fortress in Poland, Russian Empire's territory back then.

The best soldiers in russian empire army were minority nations. Average russian soldier had poor discipline and was quick to give up.
Really don't see/hear much about the First World War. The tenacity of those Russian soldiers, incredible.
I did hear that he called them Soviets at one point in the video. At this point in the war, these were the troops of Imperial Russia, not the red army. (Just for anyone curious)

If chlorine gas becomes a potent acid when it comes in contact with water, I'm surprised the Russian soldiers' attempts to cover up with water/piss-doused cloth didn’t actively make it worse rather than making no difference at all.

WW1 was the greatest mistake in human history. Mankind's greed led to consequences that are still felt to this day. It's sad that it's not talked about as much as WW2.
The utter damage WW1 did to the psyche and spirit of the European peoples cannot be understated. The ensuing shift towards liberalism, cynical deconstructive modernity and moral decadence of the west made us all easy prey for predatory globalist banking practices and mass media brainwashing.
If i was as powerful like Darkseid or Shao Kahn, i probably would start invading as well 👀✌🏻

This battle was definitely one of the greatest last stands of WW1, but I would have to give the crown of best last stand of WW1 to the battle of Fort Vaux during the Verdun campaign... Great job. The only suggestion I will offer is to remove the use of "Soviet" from the mention of Russian forces in WW1. There is a difference between the Russians of WW1 and the Soviets that came to power years later.

You keep using the term "Soviet" however the soviet union didn't officially exist until 1922 and the Russian revolution happened in 1917. These soldier were part of the Russian Empire not Soviet
