Fantastic method!!! Is there any chance you could do a video on how you build your rig? And perhaps the materials you use? I'd love to try this method. Save tons of money and time!!! Thanks again.

As others have said, I would be interested in how you put together your setup. Particularly the stirrup portion. It's not obvious to me how you the webbing is attached to your rope.
Looking forward to your next video.

Great video but I sure would appreciate details like how it's made and how to get on and of a platform. Thanks for sharing

You make this look easy! It took me 20min to climb a tree with 8mm rope. I flipped upside down once when I lost my balance. Be careful people. I would recommend 12mm rope. I climbed it as 2 foot straps rather than the leg strap.(leg strap is probably more stable)

When you're experimenting, it don't hurt to use a safety harness and an upper third tether. Be careful. Thanks for watching

Scott Adkins I ended up putting my lineman’s belt on after I flipped upside down, which definitely slowed me down.

I'm really surprised that more of the younger "run n gun" types aren't using this over sticks, for instance . Purty cool. Hunt safely , my Friends!

Just curious as to what exactly the vinyl tubing is and where you get it. I'm thinking of trying something similar but with 1 in. tubular webbing instead of the rope.

    • @scottadkins3771
      @scottadkins3771  4 роки тому

The vinyl tubing is just garden hose that I slid over the rope to make it stiffer. But right now I'm working with some half inch arborist work and tree climbing rope that I think works better without the vinyl. Be careful climbing but if you use a webbing, let me know how it works out. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

It looks a very good system , but it needs some practice. What is the total length of the rope used for the legstep and the footstep?
I'm gone make one and practice. Thanks Scott for posting !

My tethers from eye to eye are 6 and a half feet. For safety reasons I cannot encourage you to make and use this system. I strongly recommend the use of a safety harness with a third tether. Thanks for the comment

Do you have to use the leg strap? I think it would be easier to use two foot straps

    • @scottadkins3771

I personally have tried the two foot straps, for me it seems awkward but everyone's different. You may try it and it might work out great for you. Thanks for watching.

I found this very interesting , is this method easy or hard on the knee's it doesn't; look it would be hard on them

@@brandonthompson5795 I've made some changes to the system. And this week I would like to release a video showing how I use it with a rigid type saddle. I am also going to try to shoot a video and show how it can be used with a strap on tree stand. Then I am going to go into details of how I actually assemble the two tether climbing system. Thanks and thanks for watching.

Could you just use a saddle instead of the leg strap on the right hip? In other words put your saddle on and hook the top rope to your bridge and then use the left leg strap just like you did in the video. That way your connected with no way to fall even if your right foot slipped and you went upside down.

When I come out with my next video, I think it will answer most of your questions.

couldnt you just have a second foot loop to use? then you would get to the height you want twice as fast?
