im amaze about how patient you are in the layering process-----
ahah thank you :) coloured pencils do require a little bit of patience :)
You remind me of Kirsty Partridge channel. And not because your both English lol. Because you have amazing content and have so many great tips. Good luck on your UA-cam journey. I belong to your patron as well and learning a lot
Thanks so much Mary 💖💖
Really nice tips. I think the brand of the colored pencils you're using matters a lot too. I don't think you need expensive materials to create good art, but I do believe that a cheap brand of colored pencils is handled differently than a good brand. Every brand has its own nuances when it comes to knowing how exactly you use it to your advantage.
Thank you I am a newbie and you just showed me. I was holding my pencil right . You showed the different ways to hold itI subscribed to your channel
Thanks,❣❣ Amie, I have been trying to work on my technique of layering since I know it is a real key to getting good results in coloring in my adult coloring books. I'm still a beginner, but I know I will get better with practice🎨 Great Tutorial 💖💖
keep it up and soon you'll be blending and layering perfectly :)
I hope I do.
Brilliant video- thank you so much for this, and all you share of your knowledge! 👍 Just love your aussi dialect too! ❤ Greetings from the other side of the planet - Sweden. 🇸🇪🕊
Thank you! 😃
Thank you for sharing your gift. Can you share what sharpener you use to get such a sharp point and what pencils do to recommend? Thanks Amie!
Thanks for your tips Amie .
I'm struggling with colored pencils. I've tried color blocking and working left to right. I don't know what I'm not getting but I can't grasp it. I can blend the same tones all day long. I can blend gradients. But when the colors become mixed (like in fur) my brain shuts down. I've got my eye on your patreon channel but I'm struggling so much with the smaller stuff that I don't know that I'll be able to do anything with it 🤦♀️ I might just stick to my graphite and charcoal
This video is fabulous! I’ve learned a lot thank you for sharing!

Thank you 😄😄
Thank you for watching! :)
Love that shark, is there a finished version? Lovin your vids, you are amazing
Not in video form, but the finished article is shown on my instagram and facebook page :)
Love, love it!!
Thanks, Paula! Very kind of you to say :)
I really appreciate the tips but anime drawings like pokemon drawings, many of them have sharp and small turns which is really hard to layer how do I layer at sharp turn/ends
Great video. You wouldn't believe how much your hand position help's with layering.
How do you make sure there is no line visible between the “batches” of colouring you do? In this case you’ve coloured the whole head of the shark with all the colours, then moved to the next section. Where the two sections (the finished one and the one you’re just starting) meet, I end up with a visible darker area. How do you ensure that doesn’t happen, please?
HOW to do good layering.. when you are doing a picture with a LOT of FINE detail??
I don't KNOW..
I find with a super sharp pencil, when I go to rotate pencil after a bit, I always get a sharp line in my first stroke ...any hints how to avoid that?
I would use less pressure initially when you've rotated until the pencil tip wears a little bit, then start to increase the pressure to your normal amount
Hi. What sharpener are you using to get them that sharp?
How to make olive green color out of color pencil?
is it important to only use paper with "tooth" ? i started a colored pencil drawing but on just regular drawing paper...is this ok ?
Tooth is important as you are then able to get more layers. Ordinary plain paper doesn't hold many layers and you may find you can't get the depth you're after
Subscribed :)
You use FC and Luminance together on one spot...? Because? Was that Because of the shining of the shark?
I always use those two brands together, they layer well with one another :)
Why do you burnish now with a pencil and not with a thinner now? Is this for a reason?
I've always used pencil for burnishing, I rarely use a solvent
You sound exactly the same as Kirsty Partridge Art, I'm so confused. Not just the tone of voice but also accent, the way you pronounce words and syllables. Whaaaat.
nalrya well we’re both British 🤷🏻♀️
sooo beautiful panting💖💕💕💕💕kbkjbjm
Thank you :)
Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
