@@lara_bejes7890 I have a theory about that. In recent livestreams and such, he has talked about cosmetic surgery a lot. (which, in my view, makes no sense because he is already beautiful.) Jase, I like how you appreciate them even though they aren't metal. If you ever want to hear Scott sing about "heavy metal thunder", check out their performance of Born to Be Wild. It was on the Sing Off so they were barely adults. Kevin does an excellent job.
I'm so glad you liked it! 😀 Finally a new Original after 5 years! filmed back in September before the virus but the lyrics are actually befitting. They've worn makeup for videos they've done in Japan a couple of times now but here in the US they only really did the makeup thing for Daft Punk and Love Again. they were going for that electronic sound and EDM (they had the steampunk thing going in "Love Again") in those videos, so the makeup didn't look like "a man wearing makeup". It was more of a costume than a fashion choice. I honestly don't care! I loved seeing Mitch throw his arms out in his head back and just sing with joy! And I like Scott's attitude! It was really funny when you said Matt and Kevin were too chill for the makeup thing! It brings back a memory of Scott, Mitch and Kirstie doing a comedic photo shoot type of routine in the pouring rain with bright, colorfully decorated umbrellas. The three of them were posing and carrying on for the camera and then the camera pans right and you see Matt and Kevin. They're wearing plain raincoats looking stoically at the camera.. then they began shaking their heads slowly back and forth like "Nope." 😒😒 😂 It was funny! I have to mention how much I like how they came in with the color when Matt hit that bass note that kind of dropped. It's his first Original number with Pentatonix and I think it's cool that when he was on screen with that note the first color popped!
Mitch is giving off quite the Beetlejuice vibe in the 2nd half. That said I love that you are smiling ear to ear through most of this while they are singing “happy now”. I can’t get over Scott’s “Dance” near the beginning when he goes up the octave. Need to watch their version of Waving Through a Window. Also...when Christmas is coming you gotta have PTX December and go through all their Christmas tunes!
I legit cannot pick a favorite group member. I bounce between all of them, all for different reasons, all because they are masters of their craft. Lol and Mitch is being Mitch, doing his own thing.
All of them are in their sad states in the black and white portion if the video. The director said the veil was to symbolize feeling trapped and when the color his his veil is removed to show being free. He showed a screenshot discussing ideas with Scott and Mitch and said he’s imagining him rising from a shell like shape behind him for the colorful part. Like the birth of Venus.
I just have to say that I love your reactions. And this song/video has quickly become one of my favorites. Another favorite is Can't Hold Us (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis cover). PTX looks like they are having so much fun in that video and they do an awesome cover of it, as usual. Check it out because im sure you will love it.
Yeah, for some reason Sony got really crazy with blocking PTX reactions recently. The transparent screen doesn't bother me and it's a good idea, especially if it helps you put the reaction through. This is the first single for their new original album that should come out this year (hopefully not that they released a single it's really on it's way). It's also Matt's first original song with Pentatonix. A beginning of a new era and I'm so here for it. Also, Mitch and the sheet... Nobody questions him anymore :D. But actually, this music video was directed by the same guy who did the Imaginary Parties video for Superfruit and there's a similar visual with the sheet there, so I wonder if it was Mitch's idea or if the director suggested it. Even if that's the case though, I'm sure Mitch didn't even hesitate :D.
Just back from vacay, and I walk into a new PTX reaction!!! YES!!! God, I love their originals. Like you said, a WALL of sound. So good and another great reaction!!
Mitch was just being Mitch....an amazing person. I am happy now (see what I did there) that you reacted to this. You should also listen to there home album that was recently released as well. You should also watch them on "the sing off" which is where they were first discovered. And if you want a metal like song from them listen to "born to be wild" which they did on the sing off. Sing!, cracked and natural disaster are also a bit more metal like. Lastly you should watch "can't sleep love, waving through a window, problem, can't hold us, misbehavin', see through, lean on, cheerleader, and can you feel the love tonight. Please do these songs.
I am always here for PTX! I love everything they do. I wasn’t a huge fan of the transparency on the video though. But if it helps keep you from getting blocked then it’s worth it.
Thank you for your PTX reactions. They make my day. :) I figured each person was in gray tones, while they are asking, "is it okay to move on, finally?" Every one has seen heartbreak and going forward from there, and when is it okay to go on? A very pop vibe, and then they all break out in colors and happiness. Lively and simply fun. I agree with the cocoon/butterfly analogy. He's been through a lot from being bullied for his voice and being gay, to moving on and being a survivor. Each person in PTX has a story.
I commented on another recent video, but I've been watching your vids since you reacted to pentatonix for the first time and I just realized that you play disc golf. I also play, what a small world!

To me the sheet represents the bad things that hold us down from being happy and the struggle to rid ourselves from them and finally you're able to throw it off and you are able to be happy.
This song is more about the loss of someone and overcoming the sadness, they were all depicting sadness at the beginning, the rain, the sheet. Then you are ready to move on....sometimes it feels wrong to be happy after a loss. I love this song asking if it is ok to be happy now? This song came out just after I lost my dog and yes it hit home. Any loss is personal and takes time, but its ok to be happy now!

what a great song, beautifully done.. I really hope, Mitchy is happy now with the confidence to show who he is, he deserves all the best in the world..😍
The overall vibe is answering the question after a breakup... can i be happy with myself? Yes, lots of personal growth needed to get to where you *are* happy now.
When grief besets us we have a time to mourn, to reset our lives into a discovery of longing for happiness. The time before we bloom again to life, to morph into new life. Leaving the grief, guilt and habit of sorrow in the past and live again! It is okay to be happy, with our self first!
Great reaction Jase! I love seeing how much you appreciate this group and their amazing talent. Is the transparent screen ideal? Obviously not, but it’s not like you guys haven’t seen the video on multiple other reaction channels- You know what it looks like so just enjoy the music and the reaction already 😉 Also, can we just take a minute and appreciate the amazing talent that Kevin is… Especially in this video where he is beatboxing insanely well and nonstop from the minute the video begins until it ends. He had to have been exhausted! I love my Mitch, but Kevin has the hard part in this song.
THANK YOU. From now on I'll skip the transparent part and just deal with it if it gets blocked 😁 what do your favorite reactors do to avoid the banhammer?
Jase N Yo Face I think they mostly just pause the video more frequently, but Sony is being particularly bad lately with blocking. You are in my top 3 favorite reactors so keep up the great work. I appreciate being able to chill out and just listen to the music and reactions after a long day...
Looks like Mitch under the sheet is trying to mimic a mourning shroud. Used to be popular during times of grief in like....Victorian era, certain cultures will shroud their mirrors as a sign of respect for the deceased person.
Mitch under the sheet - I’m stealing this explanation from a viewer on another channel that I think nailed it. When you first move on from a relationship you initially feel like a ghost of yourself. Then there is a point where you let yourself decide it’s ok to be happy and move on. Mitch under the sheet is representing this.
You should listen to their version of Mary, Did You Know. Talk about a song that is powerful, moving and beautiful. I love this group and have been a big fan of them since they were on and won Season 3 of The Sing Off in 2011.
Wow! Thank you for your videos. I'm really enjoying ALL of them, but especially the Pentatonix vids. If I want to send you a link of a video I found of Avi Kaplan that just blew me away, can I post it here? If not, where? Thx

I think the first time I saw the "ghost" treatment was in the Superfruit video Imaginary Parties (also recommended). ua-cam.com/video/x8N5X-2xAbg/v-deo.html Superfruit is a channel featuring Scott and Mitch only. It's content may be more risqué than the G-rated PTX channel.

I said the same thing about Mitch and the sheet, except I phrased it as "why is Mitch playing a Ghost from a Scooby Doo cartoon?"
Hey, Jase. I think I have figured out what Mitch was doing in this video. He's practicing for a gig on "The Masked Singer!"
😂
His voice is so unique though. I feel like any PTX fan would be able to figure it out in like 2 notes. Lol
@@alextuttle7762 probably 😂😂😂
You're becoming a Pentaholic!!! :D :D :D
When are you reacting to “Sing”?
Check out Kirstie front and center with "Be My Eyes."
Hi, read up on the biographies of PTX…such talent !
I’m pretty impressed with your camera and it’s quality it looks very good
Love your reactions to PTX!
(I’m not crazy about the transparent box, makes it tougher for viewers side. )
ABSOLUTE FIRE!!!
Check out the mash up of Queen by voice play.
You should listen to their version of Mary, Did You Know. Talk about a song that is powerful, moving and beautiful. I love this group and have been a big fan of them since they were on and won Season 3 of The Sing Off in 2011.
As for Mitch under a sheet...You've never been ghosted?👻😁😂
This was awesoem
*Awesome
Glad you asked cause I was about to ask... Why the hell is Mitch wearing a sheet? This made me happy!
I've started calling Mitch Casper the Friendly Ghost on this video.
Check out Naturally 7. Saw them live as the warm up act fro Michael Buble and they were amazing.
You need to go to the PTX channel and you'll see/hear all kinds of live raw PTX!!!
I highly recommend their cover of Can You Feel the Love Tonight?
Mitch is a Beetlejuice butterfly coming out of his cocoon.
Great vid!
Check out 'My Favorite Things' cover, Kevin and Matt both wear make up in it! hehe
welp its mitch sooo do not question the 👑 🤣🤣
Wow! Thank you for your videos. I'm really enjoying ALL of them, but especially the Pentatonix vids.
If I want to send you a link of a video I found of Avi Kaplan that just blew me away, can I post it here? If not, where?
Thx
Here is good! read EVERY COMMENT
@@jasenyoface7555 great! Thanks.
Watch this... ua-cam.com/video/MmIJC65VWYk/v-deo.html
At the very beginning he says that he can sings 2/multiple notes simultaneously....
It was at the 1:40 mark and on that my jaw dropped.
Enjoy.
You’ve gotta do Blinding Lights!
Hit that subscribed button and have been watching back your videos! The Hamilton reaction was so much fun to watch. Also saw your reaction to Morrisette. That girl has got some otherwordly pipes. Have you checked out KZ Tandingan? Another Filipina singer worth listening, too. I recommend her version of Rolling in the Deep
“Is it okay to be happy now... now that you’re gone (dead)
He's under the covers because he's being Mitch and does his own thing.... (possibly he was restricted but now has broken free and Happy Now!)
If you want to expand into more a capella stuff, watch "Underneath the Stars" by Voces8. They are classical group that does lots of classical and liturgical music, but also does some great covers and they do amazing music education.
First, how did you know that was mitch under the sheet. Second, I felt the transparent screen detracted from the video. It reminded me of watching home movies projected onto a wall or back of a door. But I am sensitive to those things like that. Just passing along my thoughts
I loved your cheesy ass grin you had during the reaction, lol ;)
I love this song!
As a Avi lover I haven't really listen so much to their new stuff, but this one is amazing!
Anyone know who wrote this?
I heard it was Matt’s song
@@rondileem3111 I see people writing that it is Matt's first original song with PTX, and that's true. But I can't find out who wrote it. If it is Matt, the whole group or somebody else?
Just a bit curious 😂
"Written By: Sean Myer, Scott Hoying, Ross Golan, Raul Cubina, Mark Williams, Kevin Olusola, Kirstin Maldonado, Jon Bellion & Johan Carlsson"
According to: lyrics.naasongs.world/2020/08/happy-now-lyrics-pentatonix.html
@@mmg8823 thank you so much! 😊 Couldn't find the information when I tried to Google it myself.
@@icelektra You're welcome. I saw a Q&A where Scott was asked who wrote it. He mentioned a couple of names that I didn't recognize and said he, Kevin, and Kirstin did some work on it.
Great idea getting past the copyright. Hope it works...👌👍
Have you listened to Walk Off the Earth yet? If not I recommend starting with their cover of "Royals," then "Red Hands," then everything else ("Tai Kwon Do" is very funny).
You need to do Small Town Titans - Devil's Choir. I think you would really enjoy it. Keep doing what you are doing these have been some great reactions
I would like to see Jase react to Making Christmas (The Nightmare Before Christmas). It has a lot of great things to see and hear.
Don't you know by now you just can't worry yourself too much about what Mitch is wearing? It could be your Uncle Eddie's size 48 overalls, it could be ghostwear. So far he hasn't tried nothing at all (that I'm aware of anyway) but tomorrow is another day. He's done the giant fuzzy pink heart outfit so I'm not shocked at anything from here on out. If he sings beautifully, that's what I keep coming back for.
This song is an original
You HAVE to listen to white winter hymnal or god rest ur merry gentlemen! Their Christmas songs are amazing
I believe the all wear some form of makeup. I think Kevin and Matt get just enough to look natural. Nothing wrong with make-up.
