I just got the amika mastopia set during the sephora sale because I wanted the full size of the dream routine overnight treatment. It also came with a 3.3 oz of these masks, which I've never tried before. Being that I wanted more info, I immediately came to your channel, and I just wanna say how much I appreciate it. Your channel is literally a library for me on all things hair, and I trust and value your opinion. Just wanted to say thanks. 💜
thanks abbey for this review! i was looking for this exact video over the summer when i was trying to decide which one to get haha. i ended up getting the soulfood one instead, which i love but seems like you can't go wrong either! personally i love the amika hair mask significantly more than the briogeo ones.
I bought both masks in the 16oz size during their recent 14th Anniversary sale. So far I've only used The Kure once. I loved it along with The Cure shampoo, conditioner, and repair treatment samples that I received.
I have wavy, coarse, color treated hair.. I've tried the soulfood mask and it did nothing for me! The green briogeo conditioner is a lifesaver for my hair. Leaves it soft but not weighed down. The soulfood mask feels like wax
Abbey can you please make a video about your favourite protein masks ?? It’s so hard to find videos about high end protein makes 🥺🙏 and I trust your opinion!
You didn’t ask me but the MoroccanOil mask with the brown rim is one of the few masks I keep buying over and over for many years. My favorite. I buy it on fragrance net for a bit of a discount.
Heard the Kure was discontinued, but I just saw it back in stock on Sephora. So I picked one up as it is probably just the last they have in stock and wanted to get my hands on it. It was $38. Get it while ya can, dolls!
I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S THE LIGHTING IS ON ONE SIDE , BUT FOR SOME REASON I FEEL THE SOULFOOD SIDE LOOKED A BIT "LIVELY". U KNOW WHAT I MEAN? LIKE IT'S A BIT MORE SHINE AND HEALTHY LOOKING THAN THE OTHER SIDE. IT JUST MIGHT BE MY MIND PLAYING TRICKS SINCE IT'S LESS PENNY LOL
I’ve been using soul food ever since I got it in a Sephora play box, I was just recently able to get the big tub of it finally after using points and samples and mini sizes to keep it in stock for years. I use this as a conditioner when I wash my hair about every ten days or so and the difference it makes is incredible. If I run out I can’t stand it! Just make sure you leave it on your hair for the recommended time, don’t apply it to the scalp, and rinse thoroughly. I keep a wide toothed comb in the shower to comb it through my hair
Do you still apply conditioner after using the hair mask? Bc I notice (specifically with the soul food) my hair is actually dryer and more brittle after using it. I feel it’s benefits too but I think it isn’t as “conditioning” it’s more nurturing …
I bought both amika hair masks because u said how great they are. When u did your video on Your 6 Favorite Masks, u didn't mention Amika at all. So, I also bought Olaplex 8 and Oiau Hair Mask for thick hair. Do u think I could mix them together?
If you are here for the actual vs review, skip to 8:15 like I did for a basic they are the same conclusion. There was sooooo much talking I wish you would have voiced over the actual application process… and popped the ingredients list on the screen cause geeeez
Hi! 😊 Just discover your chanel, love it! I just bought the 8 seconds wonder water from l'oreal, and i would like your opinion on it. Dont really understand how this product works, and why hair feels hot when I use it, but it works very great! Thank you 🌸
Hi Abbey Hope you've had a great weekend 💖! I've never used a hair mask before to be honest. Just because when it comes to rinsing it out, I would find it hard to make sure that I have gotten it rinsed out and that my hair doesn't feel like that there is product still in there when I come to dry it. Thank you for this video 😘!
i watched one of your other videos where you reviewed the kure, and that sold me on the product! i put in my order yesterday + their reset exfoliating jelly shampoo. have you tried their shampoos/conditioners before?
The smell of both these masks are not great yet EXTREMELY strong and overwhelming. Total over kill and ruin the product. I couldn’t use ether after 1 time just based on that :(
@@woollymammoth3998 To me it smells fresh and lightly scented with hints of sandalwood and vanilla. Their website says: "This hair mask uses Amika’s signature scent of orange and grapefruit blossoms blended with sandalwood spice, geranium, and rose, as well as notes of amber, tonka bean, and vanilla."
Abbey: Have you tried any Alastin Skincare products? They are amazing! Some can be a touch pricey, but the best line I have ever used. I would love to see you do a review on them and see if you can find a match for the Restorative lotion. It's my fave but at $180 would love to find something similar for less.
Hi Abbey! I am torn between the kure nourishing mask and the bumble & bumble bond treatment - which would you recommend? And could you do a comparison? I am also a bit confused of the difference between the kure treatment and mask. thank you!
They both have silicone which means you can't use them if you follow the Curly Girl Method. If you use silicone in your conditioner you must use sulfates in your shampoo to remove them. Sulfates are harsh and drying, especially for color treated, damaged, or curly hair.

Of course! I don’t think you can go wrong either. Amika makes amazing masks 😍
Love your hair!!
Have you ever tried any of the purology hair masks??
Marshals has the really big soul food mask for $15 the 16.9 oz
You are literally my favorite UA-camr, you and Kathleen Lights. Such joyful, genuine souls.
omg I LOVE Kathleen.. so that is a true compliment thank you :)
I also loveee that guy called the Blow out professional he’s my top favorite
Thank you for this review because I was torn between the two! I really love the amika line.
So glad to help!
I’ve got super thick bleached hair and soul food is my fave

Abbey...what are your thoughts on macadamia hair mask?
Personally I have thick straight hair and that brand really weighed my hair down. Maybe it will work for your hair type though.
I love the Soulfood Mask!
Can you describe the smell? I’ve been wanting to try it too!
Definitely wanna try the soulfood mask for hydration!! I see it on sale at my tj max all the time
Ohhh interesting! Didnt know they carried it there
I have frizzy jewwy hair and Amika works best for me so if you have frizz curl that breaks easily I'd recommend that
Which one you bought? Please
@@MissYesBell It's called Amika it's a whole product line. For a cheap helper, argan oil as it's drying is great too
SoulFood is my fav!!!
So good!!
Hair goals!! What do you think of the Moroccan oil line?
I want to review this in the future!

It's still available they just reformulated their entire hairline.
Lol nope still available in like every Sephora they just reformulated so you most likely have the old one
Thoughts on morrocanoil weightless mask?

I see it too! Maybe its the lighting?
My layers are definitely different on each side which I think plays into it. They look messier when not styled (which they weren’t here 😊)
Nope I saw it too in her ends!
The ascorbic acid might be in the formula as a pH adjuster, even though it also contains citric acid.
Definitely!
I just bought Soulfood. I'm excited to try it now. Thanks for the review!
Hope you love it!

Good morning 🌞 What would you shampoo with, when using either one of those masks?
Good question!
coming in clutch with the review yet again 😭 my hair loves to see it
Amika, tratamiento Kure es lo máximo, buenísimo, mi cabello de ser grueso, rizado y seco se me ve lindo, suelto, brillante y muuuy suave, excelente!!!
Do you still feel this way with the new formulation of the kure bond repair mask?
Do you still apply conditioner after using the hair mask? Bc I notice (specifically with the soul food) my hair is actually dryer and more brittle after using it. I feel it’s benefits too but I think it isn’t as “conditioning” it’s more nurturing …
Team silicones 👍🏽. I think ascorbic acid might be for pH and it can strip hair dye if there is enough of it.
Have you ever tried Amika’s Triple RX mask?
I believe that it’s now the kure mask she’s talking about! It got discontinued
I use All the olaplex products. Is amika also a good brand? Or better stay With olaplex?
The Kure contains proteins but soul food does not I believe?
Abbey, is this still your favorite mask?
We do not have Amika in south africa, what other masks will you recommend?
I got the kurr from boxycharm for like $19 the huge size so it was a steal and I LOVE it!
Vitamin c enhances anything that it comes in contact with so that’s a great added. But this was an amazing review.
I use them and love them!
Did you apply the mask after showering with just shampoo ?
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF CRISSAN OIL??
So informative!!! Thank you
Thanks for this !! So helpful
Can you recommend some fragrance free hair products for curly hair?
I haven’t found any yet that I can recommend!
Hello
I love both of them!!!
I bought both amika hair masks because u said how great they are. When u did your video on Your 6 Favorite Masks, u didn't mention Amika at all. So, I also bought Olaplex 8 and Oiau Hair Mask for thick hair. Do u think I could mix them together?
How do the hair masks compare? Which is more moisturising? I can decide between the two amika or ouai!
On a different note, can you suggest a good heat protectant brand/product? Thank you!
In my hair styling favorites video!

I have a video on this!

The Kure dosen't have protein?
Amika is the best hairline I have ever used
