"Why is it called Hydra, The Revenge?" I'm glad you asked. 😊 Dorney used to have a massive wooden coaster called Hercules which beat you up pretty good. It was always problematic and didn't last long. When they got rid of it, they replaced it with Hydra. Per mythology, Hercules killed the Hydra, but here Hydra "killed" Hercules, hence"The Revenge."
Thanks for sharing!
Hercules was way better then Hydra wish they gave it love.
Enjoyed this video so much that I just got a season pass to Dorney Park. Thanks for inspiring me to get out there and keep on riding!
@@patrickc950Hercules first drop was ok but the rest of the ride was very boring
Wow I never knew that
Shawn's rocking it with the editing and upload speed!
He’s in the ZONE ❤
Always amazed how quick he gets these out and the quality is always great.
I think the way he presents his videos means that there isn’t too much editing involved, just putting the clips in order.
@@auhsoj3adieyeah exactly, hardly any editing whatsoever.
@@auhsoj3adie Even a small amount of editing is a lot, if you're putting out this many videos, while staying in hotels. I don't know how they do it. Definitely appreciate the work they put into it though, these videos are great. They spoil us with the amount of them that they upload.
Shawn and Charlotte's enthusiasm for Dorney Park was absolutely contagious! Their genuine excitement and passion for the park brought a smile to my face. It's clear that Dorney Park offers an amazing experience, and Shawn and Charlotte's energy only amplified that. Watching their joyous reactions made me even more eager to visit and create my own unforgettable memories. Kudos to Shawn and Charlotte for sharing their enthusiasm, and to Themepark Worldwide for showcasing the magic of Dorney Park! 🎢
Thank you very much. We had a great day!
They do good job talk about the amusement park and the rides. That u feel like u are actually there
The vibe on this American road trip is starting off SO GREAT! Love it, I have never really considered Dorney Park but after watching this, it is now on my list. Thank you so much guys for bringing such a great feel to this first of many vlogs from your huge trip!
Thank you!
THANK YOU FOR STOPPING BY!
What an underappreciated invert Talon is! This park doesn't seem to get talked about enough, can't go wrong with 2 B&Ms!
Reason being it's a pretty mediocre park. No new investment for a decade really
Yea so Talon is very underrated and Hydra is a decent ride. Steel Force is also a good classic hyper with a ton of air time. The reason is these rides are not talked about more. It's Dorney, one of the red headed step children of Cedar Fair. But. They are supposed to get a new ride in 2024 so we will see.
@Brybry Guy "red-headed child of Cedar Fair!" 🤣
@@CatsnCoasters its true!
@@jonny-b4954 I wouldn’t say mediocre. Just doesn’t have that stand out attraction or marketing to drive people towards it like Hersheypark.
it's crazy funny when Charlotte gets log flume splashed cuz she "just knew it". I think one of the other reasons I love this channel is getting to hear the merry olde England accent and the use of idiomatic expressions. Thank You, both of you two, this is how happy life can be.
Thank you!
I love Dorney because you’ll never have to wait more than 10 minutes for a ride. Pretty quiet park all the time.
It’s a great park!
Its because the rides are old or hand me downs and the water park gets all the attention
Is that still true? Haven’t been there in ages and we were considering going tomorrow (Wednesday) in hopes because it’s a weekday that the lines won’t be horrible. Hershey is always our go to but the lines are just nuts no matter what day to go. I check the app every day trying to find a pattern and it’s always an hour plus for all the coasters.
Never clicked on a video quicker! Cant wait for more vlogs coming up!❤
Talon was my #1 at Dorney with Steel Force as the best surprise! Iron Menace is a great fit!
Hi Shawn and Charlotte, I just wanted too say a big thank you , because I understand the huge amount of camera work and editing you must have put into these vlogs must take up a huge amount of your time in the parks , and it really is wonderful too enjoy your holiday with you both , here’s too many more Blue Sky’s and Happy holiday memories 😊
Thank you so much!
The best parts of these vlogs is easily going to be Charlotte's reactions to water rides!! 😂😂 Love her!!❤❤
The octopus ride was once at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, named the Monster it stood where Ice Blast now stands. How I wish the Monster remained, Cedar Point had one too when I visited 2019. Great vlog as per usual🎢
What a bright and colourful park. Some of the most colourful trains / ride vehicles I’ve ever seen, especially on the B&Ms and the purple Zephyr train!
Great vlog so far just a thought was the person who painted the zephyr train and the hydra the revenge b and m trains a 90s kid if so their inspiration was evidently Barney the purple dinosaur....lol
Hey, Shawn and Charlotte! What's up? Awesome video footage at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom.
Thanks!
Love seeing Shawn visiting new parks for the first time!
Love a first ever visit!
Yes! Can’t wait for the 24 vlogs to come!! Have fun on your trip!
So much on the way!
The Whip, brought back memories of riding it at Blackpool with my dear late mum ❤️ She loved the classic ride. Thanks Sean & Charlotte for a great first vlog!
Possessed opened in 2000 at Six Flags Ohio / Worlds of Adventure / Geauga Lake as “Superman: The Ultimate Escape”. It moved to Dorney in 2008 after Cedar Fair closed Geauga Lake in 2007. Glad to see it still running ❤
I knew they’d love talon. Intense elements good pacing and landscaping even airtime on an invert! It’s so underrated and I’m glad they love it!
Edit: overall I’m so glad they love dorney I see few praises about the park yes it’s small but hearing them say how it’s a wonderful park makes me so happy
It Is great. I only rode it twice in like... 2008. Been a while. I'm planning a Penn trip though
I'm hollering. I live in Delaware about 1hr and 10minutes from Dorney Park and I've never been there.ive never even considered going. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
I love coasters and consider myself an enthusiastic. I live in the USA but you've been to more parks here than I have. I am second guessing all of my life choices now.
It’s a great park!
Always an immediate "like" when I click on one of your videos. Always exuding so much positivity :)
Excited for you to experience (reexperience) some of my fav US parks!
Thank you!
The way the train went over the first hill on steel force looked exactly like the big one with the straight track 😂. So excited for these 25 vlogs can’t wait for the next
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought that 😂
This is amazing! Im so excited to see this whole series and follow you both on your USA Road Trip.
Demon Drop was at Magic Mountain in California as Freefall, and also at Great America near Chicago as The Edge. (among other parks). Brings back memories of the 80’s!!
The one at Dorney had only been at Cedar Point previously
Charlotte + dedicated water ride review channel = instant subscription (hint, hint) 😉
Have fun and thanks for sharing your adventures!
Enveloped in beauty, Dorney Park is real high class; subtle and kempt.
It’s a great park
WOW. What an amazing day and dorney park seems to be a secret gem. The coasters look amazing (especially steel force and talon) and the park seems so well put together. Such a fun vlog and that rapids 😂. Can’t wait to see the rest of this amazing trip on both channels
What a great start to your trip adventure. I love your joy and enthusiasm and thank you for sharing it all with us!! Great vlog!
Dorney Park a great start to your great American theme park adventure. Those water rides are incredible absolute soakers. Definitely belong in a water park rather than a theme park. Amazing coasters too. Enjoy your adventure guys.
We had a great time!
Those Rapids were RIDICULOUS!!! 💧 💦 🌊
My favorite seat on Possessed; back row, try to get a loose restraint, on the vertical spike just let go and let the coaster take you. Every pass is 3-4 second of pure weightlessness.
old coaster look the best fantastic 😄
It was great!
And so the big USA trip really begins 😊. Watching this brought back tons of memories of when I used to go to this park often from the late 90s to mid 2000s. Was great to see steel force and thunder hawk again. It really made my night, and I'm looking forward to seeing Knoebels when that one is uploaded. Keep up the great work, and enjoy this epic trip!
It’s great to get this huge trip underway!
Where Thunderhawk comes out of the station and goes into a sort of concrete tunnel - that used to go right under a tunnel of love/chute the chutes dark ride.
Thank you for taking us all along on your adventures, it really livens up our mundane day to day lives
Dorney Park looks a really nice park to visit with some amazing rides to have a go at. Enjoy the historic points of the park.
We had a great day
Been so excited about this road trip! Things are already SOOOO much more positive than the last American road trip where you guys weren't feeling well. Loved watching this and can't wait for the next!
Thank you! It’s a fantastic start!
27:33 Thats an Eyerly Monster and those dont flatten all the way down like the Octopus rides your use to thats why it loads like a ferris wheel
Ooh here we go with the USA trip.. Let's rock
Such a chill little park.
Great footage by you guys!
I hope to visit Dorney one of these days.
Thank you!
Bro I just know this series is gonna be lit 🔥
Bring it on!
Absolutely fantastic guys many thanks really enjoyed it x
Great video! I'd never heard of this park and I'm going to Pennsylvania next year so I might visit. I can't believe Shawn was being a right Charlotte about those rapids!
Thanks so much for the beautiful video! Demon drop is such a great ride! Not sure if you know, but demon drop originally opened at cedar point in 1983. It was moved to Dorney park when cedar point built the Gatekeeper coaster!! Demon drop is so very fun!!!
The fact that you've edited this already is super exciting, can't wait to see what you guys get up to!
So much on the way!
What a fantastic park! It’s devastating that we couldn’t get on ride footage because there’s genuinely nothing funnier than watching Charlotte on a water ride 😂
We had a great time!
Park looks amazing! What a way to start the trip!
It was great to see all the little details and the whole experience of this park, which you wouldn't usually see in shorter vlogs ! Can't wait for Knoebels !
Thank you!
We just visited here the first time last week! What a beautiful little park!
Great first Official Vlog of your month long USA 🇺🇸 road trip Shawn and Charlotte
Excellent Vlog
Can’t wait to see your Adventures round all the theme parks.
Love you and your Daughter doing all these adventures.
Keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Thanks for watching. Charlotte is my partner though!
I like watching these vids as a Brit I like seeing all the other parks everywhere. Keep up the good work!
And so it begins 💪🏻🫶🏻
Talon looks like Batman on steroids, lol. I'm actually most excited about that ride, riding another inverted impulse coaster, & facing my fear on the older-than-me drop tower Demon Drop. I remember a similar ride at the defunct Rocky Point that I was terrified watching as a 6 year old. That whip ride looks like fun too! Your trip has inspired me to go on amusement park tours going forward.
I am soo excited for this trip, cant wait to live vicariously through you for the next month 😊
Love the seat colouring on those first 2 coasters . Demon Drop looks the same as used to be at Cedar Point in the 80's when I used to go there in high school . Loved it ! Thanks for the tour of this historic park :)
Glad you both enjoyed my home park Dorney
Those rapids are nuts I’m with Shawn I couldn’t walk round squelching in my shoes soaked through oh no .this place looks awesome I’m loving you vlogs like I always do the first coaster reminds me of nemesis a lot I’m so glad your enjoying yourselfs my fav two people ❤️
They looked crazy!
This is the vlog I have been waiting for today
oh my gosh, that's the same Demon Drop I used to ride in high school at Cedar Point! I used to love that ride...so different. I may have to go visit him.
what a library of videos you are going to create 👍👍👍👍
More than any other vlog, this one was special to me. You’re in the land of my birth, at my first real amusement park. I have 8mm film of my family and me when I was very young at this park. Of course it looks quite different after 50 years, but some things remain. I’m glad you got a shot of the old juggling clown sign. Thank you for starting your trip here. And your hair’s looking good.
Thank you for joining us!
Brilliant the start of many to come
Hopefully you guys go to Hershey Park in Pennsylvania they have some of the best roller coasters
I love that wild mouse. Flamingo land were crazy to replace their version with hero!
Cedar point has the same waterfalls on their rapids - the first time I went on I got absolutely soaked lol I’ll have to send you a picture from 2018 lol I wasn’t impressed but my husband found it hilarious lol
Cedar Point is my home park and i miss demon drop so much! It brings back so many good memories of my childhood. I remeber as a part of some weird school feild trip homework we had to put a penny on our leg as we went up and it would float on the way down...well my dad tried it with a quarter...it did not float it shot up way above us and the ride was closed for the day after that 😬
Great start to the trip. Looks like a nice park. I wish BPB didn’t get rid of the Whip, I’d love a go on that
GREAT 1st VIDEO🤩 I love going to the new parks with you and Charlotte; seeing your reactions like at Thundering Canyons🤣 GREAT START😃
Next week I am driving from New York City back to Cincinnati. This video inspired me to stop at Dorney Park on the way home! I can't wait to ride Demon Drop, which I haven't ridden in ages from when it was at Cedar Point.
Have a great time!
Have an awesome trip together ... and keep on riding !
Will be looking forward to all the epic vlogs, giving us all a treat !
Talon was my first real coaster the year it opened. As soon as the coaster took that first swooping drop I was hooked. Thanks for the reminder I need to go back because it's now 20+ years old....and I'm 20+ years older lol.
Hi shawn and Charlotte Wow what a great start to the trip . Beautiful park really picturesque. That rapid ride wow that looks insane. Seeing you both at these parks makes me wish I was back in florida. I've been back 2 weeks and I want to go back already. Great vlog looking forward to seeing the next vlog. Thanks for sharing with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
Thank you!
Great vlog guys, looks like a fantastic park! What a way to start of the trip! Those kids with the pig in the queue of the woodie 😂.!
Have this on while doing some work and keep hearing about this Ahsoka ride. Magic Mountain used to have a ride like Demon Drop - loved that as a kid.
I grew up in Pa. Hope you enjoy all the Pa parks. Its always funny to see Charlotte's water ride reactions. Lol
Thank you!
I had to look at a Thunder Canyon POV! I love it! I always wondered if there was a water ride, where the waterfalls, STAY ON!!! I’m always disappointed to see them turn off.
O wow! The rapids ride looks crazy. I totally missed that when I went. Definitely gonna try that next time I go.
Excellent video Shawn and Charlotte from Dorney Park located in Pennsylvania! Whoa, 'Possessed' got Charlotte shook !
I loved the travel day which I watched last night, I nearly had a heart attack when day 1 was uploaded too! Loving this series, cannot wait for the rest of the series, I love seeing the old American amusement parks, I love the history, as well as the rides!! Keep up the amazing work guys! 😊
Thank you!
Brilliant vlog
While Dorney isn't my home park, me and my parents have been going there since I was a kid! Talon was actually my first ever INVERTED coaster back when they had a POV On-Ride footage (I have the video of me absolutely crying on it; you can see where it goes from absolute terror to enjoying it to no end, gave me my love for coasters!)
The one thing with Thunder Canyon: You can go on there dry, but you're not coming off dry. You get absolutely s o a k e d on that thing, it's insane! Fun fact, while Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom are technically one park because you pay one price for both, you can't go through the entire park in just your bathing suit. Thunder Canyon is the only exception with it being right next to the gate for Wildwater Kingdom, you can venture out on your bathing suit on that one but you can't go any further into the main amusement park without proper clothes and shoes!
Keep up the great work, I can't want to see your review on Knoebels next! While that one also isn't my home park, I've been going to that one since I was a baby! Twister was my first actual big person roller coaster so these parks will always hold a special place in my heart.
Looked like a great day, this park looks awesome. The spike on the Intamin Impulse at Valleyfair has a brake on it that holds you for a moment at the top of the straight spike. Really weird weightlessness sensation. Air time on a vertical spike is crazy!
Awesome Video Guys
absolutely love Dorney park! such great rides, and brings back so many childhood summer memories! fun fact about Dorney: hydra the revenge replaced a Woodie called Hercules which operated from May 6, 1989 to September 1, 2003 and manufactured by the dinn corporation. it got a bit rough over the years but it was fun none the less and the layout was pretty cool too. it was my first every Woodie I road. you can still see the footers over in the water I believe on the left side of hydras I cant fully remember. its been ages since I've been. love the theme park content, keep up the great work!
thanks for posting. we love amusement parks but my kids are starting to outgrow sesame place. we've never been to dorney but we want to check it out, and after watching this i really want to check it out.
This park looks amazing
looking forward to these, hopefully some pov are allowed in other parks. Have fun guys and stay safe
Lot’s of POV’s on the way!
The screaming on the first coaster was hilarious! 😅
And so the vlogs begin, So excited for more. Good work guys! 👍
Love all your vlogs u do really great job on the history of the park and the rides. Do a nice follow-up on the park what u like and didnt like
I have started my list to retrace you pairs’ steps in America . This park is on my list now
Love the Zephyr and the 3 🐥 ducklings
That park looks awsome and that coater looks fun
The wooden Roller Coaster has been there as long as I remember. I remember crawling out of my father's Buick in 1958 (I was 2) and walking under the roller coaster My mother fell off the Carousel in the sixties. I miss the dark rides in the seventies which I loved. The train is traditional too We prefer Knoebels Grove which has a greater variety of rides and is more suitable for small children. There was a deer park and a fish pond. Where the water park is was an unpaved grassy parking lot. Past the carousel was the Pirate Dark ride and Wacky Shack walk through dark ride. Knoebels is what Dorney used to be before it was taken over by the corporate
Been a sub for a long time now, we really feel like we are the trip with as the vlogs out so quick. Brilliant channel 🙂
Great first vlog from the trip! Can't wait to see the rest of the vlogs and see yours and Charlottes reactions. Im most looking forward to the Ceder Point Vlog!
Thank you!
Brilliant start, looking forward to the next one 👏👏👏👏👍
Nice, long vlog! Looks like you're having fun!!
