- The capital of the Salta province, Salta, was a great way to start my trip through the north of Argentina. It was cold, but I ate very well!
Salta, the capital city of the northern Argentine province of the same name, is a vibrant and charming destination that offers a mix of history, culture, and natural beauty. The city is known for its well-preserved colonial architecture, including the beautiful San Francisco Church and the Cabildo, the city's former government building. Visitors can also explore the region's rich history at the High Mountain Archaeological Museum, showcasing the mummified remains of the Inca civilization. The city is also a great base for exploring the surrounding natural beauty, including the nearby Salinas Grandes and the Quebrada de Cafayate canyon. Salta is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for an authentic Argentine experience.

I just ran across your video and subscribed. I lived in Salta, the Tres Cerritos area, when I was a 7-11 years old. We lived in Venezuela, and Colombia as well but I have always considered Salta my home country along with the US. I have wanted to return but just never had the opportunity…until now, over 50 years later!! I have been watching UA-cam videos preparing for my November 2024 family trip. Thanks for the info.

We love Argentinian empanadas! We actually just had some here in Mexico the other day! Tamales are also on the top of the list. Looks like great food options. Nice concert to end the day!

Everything was super tasty! Fun to try all the new foods here, plus the unique ways of eating them! The cold was definitely not appreciated though, but at least I had one sunny day on my first day!
