I visited thee museum and it was indeed really impressive. The mummies are so well preserved that they look like they're sleeping, not dead since centuries ago.

Northern Argentina has the same desert landscape as regions such as Arizona and New Mexico in the US,

Watching your trip and noticing how much you enjoy the surroundings, I would suggest one of your future trips in the "Wild West" of the US with all the the reserves of all the Native Americans in Colorado, Utah, Ohio and Nevada with parks like Zion, Rockies, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone, Arches, Sequoia, Joshua Tree, Mesa Verde, Canyon Lands, Death Valley and specially Bryce Canyon, among many others in between but totally ignoring American consumption society, eating at truck stops and small local restaurants.
In my 20's, I did several fly and drive's and just cruise around from motel to motel which actually turned out to be the cheapest kind of holidays in the end. Each trip took about 5-6 weeks though and it took 2 of them to cover it all, although, I must admit, the first trip included Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas as well just to watch the indulgences and the first and third one also included New York.
Just look up "List of national parks of the United States" on Wikipedia.

Ohh ! i would LOVE to do such a trip, in my head i’ve just always imagined that it’s quite expensive, but I guess it could be done affordably too 😃 thanks for the suggestion, hopefully one day I can do that 😍🤞🏻

@@JanicasJourneys I used to book with a German travel agent that also operates in The Netherlands (Exit-reizen and still exists) where you can choose standard trips or you can fully customize the trip to your likings, They will find the hotels/motels for you. Sometimes Motel-8 or others, sometimes a very expensive hotel at the airport that is usually out of direction (but close to the car rental when u land) or big hotels in cities like Las Vegas.
The trips are very basic. So you get "leftover" flights with usually an American airline that ie. lands in NY (which also gives u also the right to a free stopover btw when you switch from an international flight to a national one) and then you might have to take 1-2 local flights to your final destination. There is a reason of course why it is so cheap.
Since they all work together with car rental companies, you get a very good deal that you otherwise won't be able to get as a European or individually. I had stop-overs in NY, Atlanta, Washington, Las Vegas and Chicago as well and your connection flight you can book a day or a night ahead so you have some time to just (briefly) visit the city or plan a longer stop.
The car you rent is the smallest of the smallest version but with a little extra money you can upgrade to a 4-door family car. Most hotels/motels are booked in or very near a park and therefor (more) expensive. But since you have to drive from location to location anyway, you can ask them to book between the parks which is really a lot cheaper. Most come with breakfast which is pretty standard in the US. So instead of driving the 200-250km in 1 shot, you end up driving half the distance in the morning and the other half in the evening which I found more convenient anyway. Dutch are frugal.... I am no exception.
I remember my trip the first time in 1996 (but a standard trip with minor adjustments), I believe, and for 5½ weeks we moved for under 2000 guilders (that is now € 900) per person, inclusive of flight, car and motels. The last time in 2002, it was just below € 2000 but that was a fully customized trip for 6 weeks in the old wild west (from Vegas up to the Rocky Mountains, Denver) and everything became more expensive because of 9/11.
The food is no difference because back in The Netherlands, we would have to eat as well and restaurants in the US are much more affordable to begin with. Most lunches we just looked for the big M to waste no time or any truckstop that we passed on the way.
So you go for 1 month+, your salary came in already. Everybody thought I was crazy or hit the jackpot. It was way cheaper than going by bus to Spain and lay your naked butt on the beach for 3 weeks, what most people did at that time.

I was soooo looking forward to you going to the west-northern part of my country! It's one of my favourite parts of Argentina. Everything is cheaper than Buenos Aires, the food is excellent, people are great and nice, and the landscapes are amazing, so many colours. It seems you enjoyed it :)
Just for you to know, the city is called Cafayate.
You said you prefer sweeter wines, so let me tell that you went to the perfect place in my opinion. I actually prefer wines of Mendoza/Cuyo region, but I think the best sweet white wines are from Salta. It was probably a Torrontés Dulce haha
    Thanks for the video!
