I really shouldn't watch this! I've been flying into Madeira for 6 years now. The pilots are just amazing. In 2021 we flew in from London Gatwick and they said they weren't even sure if we could land before we even took off. But the wind dropped just enough for a very scary turn in from the West the plane was banking like a bomber! a perfect landing everyone clapped! the pilot came out after we landed and said he beat the weather window by just one minute. Thanks for sharing ;-)

Landed there when I was 12 years old. I’m 49 now. That was before the runway was extended. It was just like a roller coaster when we landed. Never forgot. Terrible introduction to your first flight.👍👍

Aviation ballet .... well the "Nutcracker" if your in seat 17A withe Easyjet from Gatwick - ouch ! TAP and Binter, absolute pro`s, but to be fair, they fly in several times a day. Charter Captains a maybe doing 4 landings a month.
For sure, TAP pilots are very used to Madeira and they land without any stress even in the worst conditions. Charter pilots can randomly go around when they miss the approach, but always safe :)

You can visit the terrace for free as a visitor, no problem :) I just prefer this higher position on the road side.

These landings are made with VOR/DME approach. No ILS available, because there's no ground to place it :)
