Great video! I just subscribed. FL native here, but it's been getting too expensive (& crowded) in recent years, thus I'm prayerfully doing some KY research. Also nice that KY is even more conservative than FL, which I didn't know :)
Howdy. Just found your channel. We went to the danville , liberty , Richmond area june 2021. The market was hot hot. I wasn't going to make a 350-400,000 dollar decision in less than 24 hours. We'll return this year to spend more time. Look at land and houses. Prices seem to be coming down. Looking forward to our time there. Thank you for sharing your experience and wisdom. We ate looking forward to leaving central New Mexico. It is turning into California.
Kentucky's average electricity cost is about $0.11/KWh. California's is about $0.44/KWh. Apparently, coal isn't anywhere near as expensive as solar, wind, and lawsuits from massive wildfires that are caused by greedy energy companies not repairing their equipment.
Yeah idk where he got that data, the last video I watched had KY being below national avg on utilities. I am in CA, it’s ridiculous out here even in the small rural areas. $300/mo easy for just wife and I, we have no AC or heating besides woodstove
@@Weather_Nerd Yup, same. Northern California. $0.44/KWh. $400-$500/month for a family of four. I could certainly deal with spending 25% of my current energy bill.
Kentucky sucks! Why? There’s no services for the disabled, food banks give families a shoe box of trash such as candies, pastas, bad stuff. Kentucky is a very poor and backwards state. They like going after families and remove kids from homes for bonus checks. Your family is a jackpot to C P S. They are down right corrupt. The state might be family oriented and after to live in. But, down right poor. Your lucky to get help with utilities if you are in crisis due to a medical condition. I moved from there to Oregon and Oregon has helped me more than ky has ever done. Food banks are everywhere and they give you a lot. Ky, your given a shoe box for a small family and it’s trash. Jobs there are low pay. Tornadoes are there. They nearly killed us. The healthcare in ky is not very good.
@@suzannetisdall7609 Your situation is not representative of the average person planning an interstate move and doing research on real estate agent channels. Obviously, you require a State that has a robust welfare system. That is fine but it is not the primary motivation for everyone (or even most people).
Frankfort is a great area. I was just at a listing appointment there last week. The truth is, there are many towns I love in Kentucky but I had to narrow it down to just 5! Please email me at tyler@thesequoiagrp.com or text me at 8594214990 so we can connect further.
Just found your channel a few days ago. Thank you for your input. Do you have a video that discusses auto registration and taxes. I keep finfing conflicting info.
This may be a good start as far as registration goes! I am with a local carrier that provides solid coverage for my vehicle and would be happy to connect.
Most vehicle registration is $25/year. There is a vehicle property tax but it is extremely low. No smog checks required, unlike California and the ilk.
Thanks for the information, I want to know for an example how much might cost the electricity for a five bedroom house per month , please let me know if possible.
My folks moved out of Ky before I was born in the 50’s. Ohio really sucked. Later we ended up in a part of Illinois, where the cost of living is lower than the national average in a decent peaceful environment. Our min wage is higher than most states, and state taxes may be higher but the state taxes are a federal tax exemption.
looking to possibly move to Jackson, KY to serve at the Mount Carmel High School. Can you give some more numbers for a smaller town like that? we are a family of 9 but might not get down there for a couple years. We have to wait for adoptions to finalize here and sell our home first.
I’ve lived in Kentucky most of my life. I lived in Ohio for about 1 and a half years. Nothing compares to Kentucky. My favorite! I’m 67

Even when Kentucky is above the national average, it is considerably lower than California!
Good to know. We are planning to move to Kentucky.

Spent several nights in Frankfort a couple of years ago. Liked it lots. How come Frankfort wasn't on list?

I bought my house and 20 acres, 10 years ago for $70K. I was shocked to learn it's valued at $125K now!!!
Congrats!
Whats an average hourly wage for people out there that are able to live in the 1100-1200 rent range and what do they do?
Thank you for the info! I'm wondering about auto insurance and car registration 🤔
