khaled haroun religion ban alcohol so that people don’t intoxicate themselves. Using alcohol in cooking is way different than direct ingesting. In marinating, it reduce gaminess of meat and the fishy odour from seafood. Under high heat, most alcohol will vaporise and what is left is the aroma of it. Can you intoxicate yourself when using alcohol in cooking? I doubt so.
