Lobsters were considered the bugs of the sea due to them being everywhere when Europeans arrived, they were eaten so much that they became rarer and therefore more expensive. This happened with caviar too.

I'm actually really happy to see these sorts of ingredients featured here! My mom always managed to take fast-food leftovers and make seriously wonderful dishes we called Leftover Soup and french fries tended to be a frequent basis. Frozen or leftover fries tend to be so overlooked to me.
So she doesn't like drinking alcohol but she loves cooking with it
I don't drink it, but I like cooking with it. It just gives a richness and depth of flavor to any food that you wouldn't get without it, but in many recipes the alcohol cooks out. Chicken marsala, for example.
Me too. Not a fan of drinking. In fact I avoid it. But I love baking rum fruit cakes and liquor chocolates and pasta with white wine. That flavour is just so good.
Cooking with alcohol leaves all of the flavor with almost no of the alcoholic content (as you can never garuntee burning the alcohol breaks up all the ethanol in the alcohol which is what makes it alcoholicbut its will break up at least 99% of the ethanol) so cooking with alcohol and drinking alcohol are very different
