Mercedes SL Heater Blower Control Fix with iCarsoft

  • I had an issue with my heater blower switch being temperamental, I suspected 3 main issue that it could be and discussed them in order of probable culprits. I then used my iCarsoft to confirm the issues, which also flagged up a hidden fault that I was not aware of!

    I have a similar setup in my 2010 Jaguar; the little motor device is called an "aspirator" in Jaguarspeak. It's purpose is to draw in ambient air across a thermistor which will sense that ambient temperature. Problem is, it also draws in dust, which will settle across that thermistor , acting as a sort of insulation, which leads to false readings reported to the controller. Simple solution is to use a "Q-Tip" to clean the accumulation from the face of the thermistor. Some Contact ReNu might help if needed.

    13:00 I have the exact same issue. Blower started working as soon as i removed the panel and didnt stop until i unplugged it. I’m not very mechanically inclined, could you help me with how u found out which connections were bad?

      I just looked at the plug and saw that a connection was chared so I cleaned up. make sure all pins are good and connected
