Further to the popularity of my other iCarsoft videos, I decided to show an 'un-scripted' demonstration of iCarsoft on my Mercedes SL R230 year 2004.
I discover on the day that I had some faults which a few I manged to clear and show how this is done.
When using iCarsoft ensure that the ignition is on or engine on.

Quick Tip : use "Right" direction button to skip pages than going through each line.
I have a 1999 SLK170 230compresor iCarsoft advised me the MBv3 unit can I add my sisters 2011 Suzuki SX4 to it or must I buy the higher end unit. In the description of the higher end unit, it states cars from 2001, so it wont work on my 1999 SLK
So be carefull saying you can buy the more expensive unit, it might not work on your specifieke car. Also units do not get a life long updates, like your Smartphone the have a expiry date, no more upates, this I was told by a Rep of iCarsoft
Also be careful playing around with scanners in your Mercedes, guy here on UA-cam put his Mercedes into Limp Mode and cannot get it out. Mercedes's are computers on wheels, and you are actually looking for trouble if you buy one, unless you have unlimited money
Most modern cars won't clear the code if the problem still exists. The code clearing is only available once you replace the faulty part.
sometimes though such as when I cleared the Red Battery warning this will not go on its own, I had to use iCarSoft to clear it.
Does this tool customise? e.g. Fold in mirrors/switch off stop/start etc blah blah
no it is mono directional

Great !! fault codes don't get removed. Also why does it not tell you the faults rather than hunting for them? Not able to amend any of the cars options, lights, door locking etc ?? 😥
You can use the overview on I OBD2 option to see codes, but they won't show the detail which is why you have to go into each one unfortunately. For lights there are settings on your cars dash menu

pull the codes is the best place to start. Diesels typically are prone to DPF blockages / EGR's sticking too.
can you check the fluid levels with the icar soft, that would be amazing for my 09 E350

Hello, I have a question about the update you made to the CR2.0. How did you manage to keep the old versions and be able to select them afterwards? I'm asking because I had an MBV1.0 and it only showed me the current version. I have now received 2 versions for testing: CRV2.0 EU and CRV2.0 1+4. Thank you for your help.

im getting a check engine light (09 E350) and the carsoft says catalytic system right bank, i clear fault but it comes back, i hope its just an O2 sensor and not a cat converter, Anyone have this issue ??
I would take out 02 sensor and try cleaning with brake cleaner,

Does this give info on real time data? ESP keeps flashing on and off at high speed. I am suspecting a faulty wheel sensor.

Hello, can you help me troubleshoot my 1997 sl320. It won't change gears and a UA-cam video said it'd in the limp mode and the only way to fix it is to clear the code and other diagnostic scanners won't clear the codes so I purchased the icarsoft MB II V2.0 and the 38 pin red adapter now I don't know how to clear the code to make my car start changing gears again. Can you help walk me through using the scanner to clear the codes
Hi there, If your car has gone into limp mode it usually signifies a physical fault and clearing the code may just mean it will come back again. With that said make sure your 38pin adaptor is pushed all the way home, I had one that used to stop short. Once your icarsoft successfuly connects. Go into diagnostic and Search for your car and model. Now search the items for transmission, there may be more than one, read codes, then clear codes . Now go back into reading code and see if it goes. Good luck

hi. I have icarsoft i980. I'm trying to remove my "service B due" message but it doesnt allow me. can u tell exactly what option do I have to choose for erase this message. I already did the servicr but not in a mercedes. this place can't remove it with their universal reader. I hope I'll can help me. Thanks

Hi just a quick question. I have an Icarsoft Pro and it will recognise the vehicle (SLK R170 year 2000) but only after manually inputting the VIN but all other functions are not available. I have been using a generic OBD 38 pin adapter. Will the original one with the chip make any difference or do I need a specific MB scanner for it to work? Obviously having already paid over £250 for the scanner I am trying to find out if I need another scanner or could just get the Icarsoft adapter?

I recommend the iCarsoft adapter, as a modulator is installed. From what I have read, the standard 38 PIN adapters cannot be used for this. Then it also depends on which version you have installed. I was faced with exactly the same problem. Unfortunately, it turned out that the current versions of iCarsoft were not compatible with my 1998 SLK. I therefore received two test devices from iCarsoft with older versions. And behold, it worked. I hope I was able to help

Does anyone know if an icarsoft can pin point which component failed in a heating system? My car won't blow hot air and from what i know it could be a few things. Would icarsoft be able to detect which component failed?

Does it work for a 2009 C300 4 matic sport? Does it have live feed for transmission temperature?
I believe it should, as I can read this information on my Mercedes as well as range rover, however I would need to check with your car to be 100%. I will do a quick video next week

good question, but to answer I have used my device on Mercedes, BMW, Ford, VW, Range Rover and they all so far are just as in depth as each other

Hi, when you refer to quick turn signal, do you mean it flashes faster on one side? Is then this is usually a blown bulb or incorrect LED. Try that first. Your dash should highlight the fault

Good question on the Rodeo test, I was going to get the ABC suspension version of the SL but decided not to take the risk as the cars are getting old! Let me look at the menus and see if the option comes up !

I don't have the air suspension unfortunately, but I do know on my range rover which does have air suspension shows information such as height levels
I think you can do actuation/bi directonal test on the pro, lift front rear check leakage between tank and solenoid etc

@@Stallion492 make sure you correctly select your car model, then find the relative section for the o2 sensors, try ECM engine control module. Then once you enter the page go into module information and see what is shows you

Hi there, are you taking about the convenience message on dash you get from low battery power? do you have an SL Mercedes?. If so then good news is you don't need the icarsoft for erasing, the reason you get the message is with low battery from the large rear battery. Message usually goes after about 10 mins or so? I would really recommend a genuine Mercedes battery, they are not that dear, since I have bought one, I've never had the day message again!

@@Miklagard71 Great car, I have a 350 (3.7L) 2004 with the AMG speed shift box. Looks like your battery in the back could do with a change. Batteries are really important, and despite what others think, they do differ between brands even if they are the same Cold cranking amps and capacity etc. I bought a Halfords (UK Store) like for like replacement battery. After a couple of weeks I kept getting the Convenience error. From working in Battery engineering within the train sector, I decided to approach Mercedes and obtained their battery which was only about £40 more. That was 4 years ago, I have another car that I use, so the SL can sit for over a month, even in the middle of winter, I never get any issues starting or see the convenience warning.

Be very careful. Make sure you buy a genuine unit. There are a lot of China fake/copies out there. Always check iCarsoft for the serial numbers to make sure they are not copied or have already been clarified. I have one, great unit, However the 1st one DID turn out to be a fake/copy from the London area.
