    I felt everything Rogan said. I got out the army to be a civilian because I had a daughter. I haven’t been happy since the day I left . I worked my ass off and did a lot of shit a lot of people wouldn’t do to earn my rank to let it all go. I have bo meaning. “I quit what I’m good at to do something that I suck at to try and make a living”! That shit hits home.

    I'm so glad they had this follow up conversation.
    It created a satisfying closure to the intervention video.
    Seeing Brendan reflect on it now also serves as a lesson for many people like him. It's relatable to anybody who has a pipe dream but maybe has to be realistic up to a certain time to let it go, or transfer your skills to a new art/job. It's easier said than done, because of ego/identity and /or being young.

      I think Joe should have stepped in before he did his 2 specials. Didn't he see his material beforehand? Thats who comics show the material to 1st close friends for feedback. No way was that ready for the stage that shit was horrible. I give him props for doing it but that needed a lot more work and his comedian friends should have told him that

    I ain't ashamed to say this conversation made me tear up. I love it when people can have conversations like this, where one person actually LISTENS to the other and acknowledges they were wrong.       Its mature of him to admit that it was dickish because it was in front of the entire world to watch. Not because he said it, but because it wasnt just said in confidence. Joe didn't "embarrass" him on purpose he was genuinely concerned and had to let it out. I think anyone could argue it turned out for the better in the end.

    I felt this one in my soul, cause I know I’m a shell of what I used to be, and never had someone there to “save me” now I basically live vicariously through people like joe, because I hate the person I am now but I know I can’t put myself back together on my own.       Joe knows funny, he's a smart comic but somehow he is not a funny comic. It's hard to explain.....like his jokes aren't terrible and they're structured well but Joe himself is not a funny person. The only times he makes me laugh is on the podcast. He's much more interesting than he is funny.
