The opening track from my collection of old goa trance tracks made in Impulse Tracker between September 1998 and May 1999 (and this one made in December 2000).
I consider this a bonus track, even if it's the first one on the compilation. It was finished on December 11, 2000 (over a year and a half later than the track I consider my actual last one) and it replicates a style of several very similar tracks I made around spring 1998, so it's both the absolute last track I ever made in Impulse Tracker, and also a throwback to a style earlier than the tracks that ended up on the final collection.
It runs at a quite moderate tempo of 130 BPM, which as I see it works as a quite laidback intro for the collection.
Technical details on building the video, for those interested in some geeky details:
Video was made by running Impulse Tracker in DOSBox using its video capture feature, then run through an AviSynth script utilising some creative frame dropping to get the very nonstandard video capture framerate of 70.087 FPS to a standard 60, and to get the audio to sync with almost frame-perfect accuracy. I also used an intentionally crude point resizer to get the video to 1080p, keeping the original look of the video as far as possible. This was encoded to a lossless (CRF=0) x264 video.
Audio was rendered from XMPlay, one lossless file per Impulse Tracker channel, then imported into REAPER for the final "mixdown" (which in fact was just keeping all the channel faders at unity) and some very minor edits to remove occasional clicks, and to separate the surround parts. The "surround" feature that Impulse Tracker uses had to be replaced with stereo widening plugins (Voxengo Stereo Touch or Outobugi Bimono, depending on the situation) because the surround mode is simply a polarity flip of the right channel, which in addition to actually sounding quite terrible, isn't mono compatible at all. No audio "mastering" was done, apart from having the ReaLimit limiter on the master, just to keep the track from clipping, and to bring it up to a sensibly moderate level (-14dB LUFS for the video version).
The final video was rendered from REAPER via ffmpeg, video again at a lossless CRF=0, and audio also to lossless 16-bit PCM.

Just wow! Wonderful song. This process you are doing to record it, is it for lack of windows support? For FastTracker 2 there is a windows clone, that is why I am asking.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the process to record this. There's a technical rundown on building the video in the video description, but if you meant something else, do let me know :)

@@pauleye.official I mean if that is the only way to video capture it? Just curious of the process 😄 I just screen record FT2 clone with OBS studio.

There's probably several ways to do the video capture, but this is what I came up with. It's probably somewhat convoluted, and definitely a geeky approach that suits me :D
