    Great Video! I made two pairs of leggings today, one with a pattern--that turned out to be more like pajama pants, wah! But then I watched this video, tried again, and voila! Great leggings! Thanks for the instructions, and also giving me the nerve to try it!

    Use the widget in the upper right corner. It will put on the screen where you can slow it down.😊

    I think you're very talented, I like your styling, classic yet up-to-date. I love drafting my own patterns. Got a pants sloper, just no bodice sloper - gotta figure that one out yet.

    Great Tutorial. I wonder if the leggings could do without the inner leg seam. Since it's stretch material it might work. But I don't know how to do it. I always have the problem that my legs rub against the seam and my skin becomes sore.

    question: why is the part from hip to waist drawn straight ? Our butt is supposedly curved and the front isn't exactly flat flat.

    Great job! I’m just getting back into sewing my own capsule wardrobe but I’m having to sew all by hand at the moment while in Sicily with no sewing machine! Yeah I’m a bit nuts 😂 I’m learning a lot about using my clothes to draft patterns and I enjoy your unexaggerared voice and simple forthright explanations! Subscribed!

    OK by why guess where the seam is? How far off was it from where the pants were folded?

    This is a great tutorial. Thank you for sharing it with us. I have a question: Do you think I can use this same copying method to make a men's leggings?

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  Рік тому +1

      You're welcome! Thanks for watching! And yes, you can do this technique with so many different garments. I've traced jeans and a blazer with the same method.

    Hi, why did you needed to subtract a 1/4 " of the crotch?

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  2 роки тому +3

      Because the seam was kind of folded over from the edge a little, so I didn't need to add extra seam allowance to that side :)

    It’s a great video, thanks. Tip for watchers: if you find the tinny repetitive background music too distracting just mute the entire sound and click CC for captions. It would be much better with just the sewer’s voice. Idk why craft people put the constant jangly noise on their videos when they are talking. Please please, music only during silent parts of the film not when people are talking.

    My problem is that I don't know where to find the super thin terry cloth for my favorite leggings

    • @PatternScout
      @PatternScout  2 роки тому +1

      Have you tried searching for "baby french terry"...that kinda sounds like what you are describing. That is a really soft and comfy knit that I like to use when I can find it. surgefabricshop.com and iseefabric.com are two that I have purchased from in the past.

    I can't really tell the difference between the copy and the original. The material looks exactly the same at least on camera.
