I just prefer hotels nowadays, I love Airbnb but they are getting more expensive than hotels,Airbnb hosts knows that most of the guests are travelers and tourist (foreigns) so they deliberately make rent more expensive ,Airbnb used too be a budget friendly now not any more
@building and flix Hotels are more comfortable now, offer desk services, help with ur stuff , free breakfast ,there is always coffe machine to use , everything any travel can need, mostly importaly they dont force you to clean+pay expensive cleaning fee,I travel alot and notice i save more using hotels
Great breakdown. I do travel to NYC a bit and have noticed that hotels there, especially booked ahead of time, tend to be better deals than AirBnBs because of the ease of check-in/out, concierge services, and roughly equivalent costs.
I used to work at a hotel. Your free breakfast is week old refrigerated eggs with a waffle maker that has never been cleaned. The health inspection for hotels is a literal joke as we had rats and mice for years. I called OSHA when I quit. Everyone had to take their training and the manager was pissed off that they had to do their jobs. 🤣
And you would never want to eat their breakfast unless they had an actual kitchen staff. Don’t trust shit hotels serving you breakfast because those chocolate waffles are just original waffles with rat droppings.
We mostly stay in Airbnb's for stays over 3 nights. Biggest downfall is that when using a home for full time Airbnb it removes it from either the for sale market or long term rental market causing home and rental prices to skyrocket. The other big issue are the fees. The fees should be rolled into the nightly rate. It's kind of like a restaurant adding a "service" fee to your bill. It takes longer to book because you have to read all reviews, check the location to make sure the area is safe, make sure this isn't the first time they have rented out a property, etc... Always rent from a super host.
Hey Scott, your comments are insightful but I would love to dig deeper as a part of my research in short-term rentals. Are you open to a quick discussion?
I just found out that AirBnB does NOT require Hosts to provide what are considered Essential Amenities such as TOILET PAPER, LINENS, etc.! So, what are you paying for?! Especially with all the extra fees! Some of the Hosts require you to take out your own garbage & somehow keep your pets off the furniture. Ha, ya, ok.
@@biruteramanauskiene8731 smh Wow. Ya, I asked for more toilet paper here & thankfully, they gave me 2 more rolls but that's still not enough for my reservation. I'm just going to use up their tissues. ha
@@biruteramanauskiene8731 Ya, the 'Reviews' on AirBnB aren't reliable at all because the Hosts Review the Guests the Guests always put raving Reviews. I could've tore up so many of these AirBnBs but because Hosts can Review me & read my prior Reviews, I don't post Reviews to prevent me from being rejected at future AirBnBs. The Review system isn't trustworthy.
@@antondob9832 it was one in NYC in the Bronx. My friend had booked it and was being stubborn. The pictures made it look nice but it smelled dirty and musty as soon as I entered and in a bad neighborhood. Lot of trash on the block.
I thought Vrbo was new. I had never heard of it until a couple weeks ago in my UA-cam ads. I'm a big fan of AirBnB. I always find cheap places in good locations. I also stay at ones that the owner actually lives at (that's probably what makes them cheaper, and like you said, it's more of an immersive experience). I've probably stayed at an AirBnB 30 times and have only had one bad experience. The rest were amazing!!! I used to be a host too (and lived at the house).
I think you have made a lot of really great points I think for some people it’s avoidance of making a decision about their future I knew many young people when I was a lot younger who would change jobs frequently in order to find something that was more fulfilling or less stressful perhaps while they were going to college at the same time
I was looking at hotels in Rome but saw a REALLY nice air BnB in the Vatican city for only 800 for a week, a saving of 2000. the air BnB was so nice too, but everyone I know keeps telling me not to go for it and go to a hotel and I'm so conflicted
What are the reasons they're giving you to not book it? In my experience, it's all about what makes the most sense. Sometimes Airbnb just makes the most sense, sometimes I find myself flipping through the pictures and reviews and trying to calculate how the owner came to the conclusion that they can/should charge as much as they do. I think just consider what you want to get out of the trip and what accommodations best fit that plan.
Congrats on 10K subs!!!!... but maybe you shouldn't say " What kind of videos you wanna see, truly anything goes!"... 😜sorry for the bad joke, i had to do it... i prefer hotels, i think it as something to do with my childhood when we went on vacation and how i think its more fancy... and how the heck is that shelf staying on that wall!!??
Thank you! I definitely have childhood associations with hotels as well, so I know what you mean. The floating shelf is all a product of my husband's handyman skills, I'm not even sure how to describe how he did it! I think I have footage of it in my UA-cam studio video though 😊
I honestly wish I had found what I’m doing now about 10 years ago. it’s perfect but it’s not for everyone. the economy is also changing and will definitely affect my occupation. I feel like I’m doing some good with what I do but I also understand everybody cannot do what I do. it maybe not a perfect fit for them. I have a degree in public relations in the first job I got was retail. It was high-end retail and I thought a little bit more professional but things have changed even since then. 😊

The breakfast is a dealbreaker for me 😅
Free breakfast at hotel literally cuts the price down by 25%

Some AirBB properties are neglected and not taken care of well. So you get a lower quality!
Just stayed at one that was roach infested and everyone else who stayed there before had given them four stars and up. Never again!

Me too! It seems like they only recently started doing ads regularly, especially on UA-cam. I'm so glad you've had positive Airbnb experiences!

I think Airbnb is hear to stay. Going to the beach here at the Oregon coast, I am more likely to book an Airbnb than a hotel.
I completely agree! There’s nothing like a vacation home on the beach!
I have been given same topic for my presentation. thanks your video helped alot.
Glad it was helpful! Hope your presentation went well ☺️
