I use both hotels and AirBnB... as well as Hostel singles. I’m like Sherrie, in that I don’t want to share my space, however lots of Hostels outside of the US are starting to offer nice, basic single or double rooms with en-suite bathrooms. It’s kinda the best of both worlds because you’re not sharing a dorm with a bunch of strangers, but you’re also not paying for the branding and extra features of a hotel. Most of the rooms I’ve stayed in didn’t have TV’s or coffee makers etc, but were clean and often much more convenient to things I wanted to visit!
I have a beautiful air B and B here in Vermont. A lovely white cape, clean as a whistle with a lovely view and gardens. We live in a different house so it is private and quiet. I stay there sometimes because it is so nice.
I totally am the same way with comforters in hotels. So glad most of phased them out to options they can clean. We did duvets with easy to remove and wash covers for our rental just for that reason :)
I so agree on your pros and cons of Air B and B vs hotels. And the first thing I check in both,... is what does the Mattress look like, one hotel, we had to get another room, the mattress was dirty and gross looking! And we also take off the comforter! That's a must! And we also gave had to call housekeeping ina hotel in Disney World, cause when we turned the heating unit on at night a bazillion flying bugs came out!! Talk about discussing! And it was a Disney property!
Great video! I use a similar strategy with hotels vs AirBnB - depends on where I'm going and what is most convenient/costs less. I generally will ONLY stay at Marriotts because honestly I have found them to be the nicest kept properties and the rewards program is great (have been a member for like 20 years). But, Airbnb has worked out great for me in Seattle - especially when I go there in the summer months - saves me a bunch of money as that is the time when just about any hotel (even the crummy ones around SeaTac LOL) are pretty pricey.
Agree with most of your points about both. We have been screwed with Airbnb during the Oregon eclipse. They cancelled on us a couple of weeks before and we ended up having to spend several hundred more dollars for the few days we were there since everything was booked.
Hello. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! Our family has done the Air B&B thing for a number of years. Always a good experience. We are a family of five and often have a hard time at hotels. We always end up having to get 2 rooms which can be expensive. I would add that buying our own food and only eating out at dinner saves a ton of money too. 😊
We just traveled all across Eastern Europe and stayed in Airbnb’s and loved it!! We too have been fortunate in all the Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in. But I agree it totally depends on where we are going if we stay hotel or Airbnb. Great video!
WE LOVE AIRBNB! But i'm with Sherri, I need the whole space because it would just freak me out being in someones bedroom haha! I also love to cook! So I love having a whole place for ourselves because then I can use the kitchen and cook all the yummy foods :D
Air BNB can also allow you to stay in places with an interesting story. In Joplin MO you can stay in the last place that Bonnie and Clyde stayed before they were killed. The local law found out that they were there and came to take them. A shoot out started as the gang made their get away. You can still see bullet holes in the home’s exterior. The inside is decorated in period furnishings to give you an idea what it was like to be there with Bonnie and Clyde.
We've done Airbnb for one night and used to do regular B&B's. When we stayed at an Airbnb a few years ago the owner switched her personal bedroom for us which I thought was very kind. (She said she always does this for couples if possible.) The only problem with this was her bedroom was full of creepy dolls. She was a sweetheart, but I would have preferred the room we booked! I much prefer motels/hotels for the anonymity!
I'm scared of air bnb because of the big scandal a few years back where minorites we're being turned away the day they arrived I know people who have had no problem using them but it's just a fear of mine so I pick hotels
Jonesha Taylor 100% understand that! Honestly almost all of the Airbnb hosts that we book through we never even meet. We get a code for the door and that’s it.
@@LeggLife I always have anxiety about a reservation screw up until I get in my room at my destination then I'm on pins and needles my Disneyland trip I didn't relax until we were through the gates the next day of the park
I get what you are saying about the comforters and bedding in hotels but Air bnb's have comforters and bedding too. How is it cleaner? I think there is no formal monitoring in Air bnbs so how do you even know they washed the sheets?
I have an AirBnb question that maybe someone can answer. I've never used it before and have been looking through some of their listings. It's super important to me that I have a private room & bathroom. If I have those two things, I might be open to sharing a living room or kitchen. MAYBE. I've seen some listings for private rooms with private bathrooms listed on AirBnB that are part of larger homes where you might be sharing space with either the owners or other AirBnB guests. What I'm basically wondering is what sorts of things should I be aware of with those types of places? Anything I should be looking for or avoid? Help a newbie out! Thanks!
We love Airbnb, I find hotel rooms all the same and a bit blah we love the unique and character in Airbnb’s. That said not a huge fan of the ever increasing service fee
I also think the reviews on hotels tend to be more honest. You really have to be careful with an Airbnb on leaving a bad review as it can affect your ability to book another, since Hosts also check reviews on Guests as well. Whereas Hotels, there are no repercussions for leaving a bad review.....
I'm one of the ones that just doesn't know how to do it. When we travel our friends always ask if we stayed at AirBnB but we've just never booked one. Hotels are easy.
I have horrible luck with staying overnight somewhere other than home. Needing an accessible room and most of the hotel websites don't offer the option of choosing a room for those with disabilities. You have to call the hotels directly. Even then, I've gotten reservations for an accessible room and when I arrived and checked in, they don't have that room available. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but never fails, it's always not happy.
Hotels. I know the gross factor and kringe just thinking about it (bring the Lysol can) but I have a fear of staying at Air BnB knowing that person has a door key and could walk in on me in my sleep. Also the fact that they could have hidden cameras. Maybe watch to much news or shows where they talk about this stuff. I know the hotels have pass keys too but there are other people around to help if you scream, lol. Know it sounds crazy but I just feel more secure in a hotel. Love you guys personalities!
Thank you all I sent a message to her about what I am hoping she makes more of!!!!! You all are the best you all have given me so many tips and guides for our firs3 disney cruise coming up in April!

What? Over 9.000 subscribers?! Congratulations!!! Well done for reaching another milestone.
Thanks so much! Can’t believe we’re already at 9K!
I used VRBO when I stayed in North Pole and it was a great experience.

Great info about Airbnb and Hotels

New Subscriber, came over from Somers in Alaska. Cant wait to get to know you, and see your adventures! ☺
Devoted to the Lord Jesus thanks so much for coming over and checking us out!
I booked my first Air BNB for later this month. It’s a tiny house❤️ I have used home away once and loved it.
Love your vlogs I've never felt comfortable about booking Airbnb as a solo traveler
Yvette Picky Eating Traveler same here. I feel safer in a hotel.

Ugh! That’s so frustrating! Thankfully we’ve never had that experience.
I use air b and b all the time. I also agree about getting the whole space, not just a room.

Thanks for the great information. I have been going back and forth trying to decide if I would like an Air B&B.
This really helped!

TheWebbFamily Traveling across Eastern Europe sounds like a dream!
We don’t travel that often but if we did I’d be nervous to use Air but would definitely give it a shot for sure!
I’ve always wondered about AirBnB. Thanks for the great information!
Carol Draper Adventures We really love using AirBnb. We definitely recommend checking it out.
WE LOVE AIRBNB! But i'm with Sherri, I need the whole space because it would just freak me out being in someones bedroom haha!

Yes, having the kitchen available so that you can cook at home and not have to eat out at restaurants for each meal is AWESOME!

Stuckinmo Pro Oh my gosh, what an amazing place to stay! The uniqueness of some of the locations is definitely a pro for Airbnb!

Paulette B Ha! The creepy dolls sound like a very “unique” experience.
Me personally I'm in a wheelchair so I need accessible rooms/bathrooms so I usually book hotels for that reason
Becca KellyThat totally makes sense!

Hey guys what is the link to get some Mickey ears from you all?

Musketeer & Me Franks Ahh, I’m sorry to hear that. So disappointing!
Why don’t hotels wash the comforter!! 😩 Do you think Disney does?
adam.... ooooo yuck! I will think about this in my next hotel
Singer Family Adventures Yes, I think about it in every single hotel room I stay in. Gross!

V. Alvis doesn’t sound crazy at all! Those are totally legit concerns!
I had not actually stayed at an AirBnB!
Really?! Would you try it, or are you more a fan of hotels? Or do you just prefer to stay with awesome people like Sherri and I? 😂
LeggLife shhh don’t give away my secret! lol
Adam I do same thing with a comforter when I get in a hotel. My family makes fun of me! No way nasty! lol
Stephanie DeCamp SO nasty! Glad that others do the same thing.
I travel with a packable down quilt to use instead! (Former hotel employee here 😂)
Do you all use credit card points to travel?
We do use them some. We primarily use the Alaska Airlines Credit Card because of the miles you earn and the companion ticket each year.
Just got a new phone and lost your etsy link
Austin Prather Hi! It’s www.etsy.com/shop/sherrileggcreations
She hopes to have new ears posted over there this week!
Thank you all I sent a message to her about what I am hoping she makes more of!!!!! You all are the best you all have given me so many tips and guides for our firs3 disney cruise coming up in April!
I can't get my wife to try an Airbnb :(
Nick Sayer it did take Sherri a while to warm up to the idea as well.
