I have nothing against the design of the Kelvin Timeline Enterprise. However, it is 295m long as originally intended, not 725m long. When one decides whether to pay any heed to JJ Abrams on this subject at all, one must consider the fact that he also decided he needed an “even biggerer” Death Star, that you can beam someone from Earth to Quo’nos, that Delta Vega, a planet near the Galactic Barrier, is only about a million km from Vulcan, and that he is an utter imbecile.
It was done to make it more successful. The point of the movie was to reboot the franchise, and they needed to make it as impressive and grand as possible.
I'm not a fan of the Enterprise design overall, but the visuals for the other ships here look very nice. It just a shame the stories & characterizations in the Kelvin timeline weren't all that good for the most part.
I do not like the Kelvin NCC-1701, never have. I don't like the look and it the Warp Nacelles being nearly the size of the secondary hull makes them a large primary target. We had 2 MOVIES proving that fact. The NCC 1700 could be better but overall it was way better in looks by comparison and I don't mind the other designs either and think they fit just fine and appreciate them.

Who cares. JJ and company sent Trek into a tailspin it will never recover from. Hopefully one day Trek and all its properties get sold to a better studio who actually wants to make true Trek and not this garbage we have been getting since 2009!!!
these newer ish movies were more meant for the newer generations. Without them, people like me that are born -00 would have never known what star trek is. And no one would watch star trek if it was made the same way as the original series in cinemas.
Shut up dude, the reboot movies are great and they introduced me into ST world, now I admit everything that came out after the movies (discovery, SNW, Picard) are pure garbage, except for lower decks, that is entertaining

I love the Kelvin Timeline. Gorgeous ships and a really fun universe when you get into the game and the comics and novels.

USS Kelvin was a stunner in the Star Trek 2009 intro but a lot of that is just great cinematography.

To be honest star trek ships were much more feasible than any other sci-fi ships I know
