That day I said I’m done!!! I called my dad and he said come home! I moved to FL with him bc he told my dad he would marry me, (he was my college bf) he flew out to get me, we packed up all my things and my dog and drove all the way back to TX and I never looked back! Now I have a wonderful husband and a sweet baby boy!!!! When I left he followed me all the way back to TX from FL and tried everything to get me back. I said no no no get the hell on. I got pregnant a year after dating my husband and he did marry me after our child was born but I think the difference was that he didn't marry me because I had his child. He would have married me regardless. He was talking about marriage within the first two months of us dating and told everyone I was his fiance before he even proposed. My brother has been refusing to marry his partner since 1994. It’s been 30 years. I told my husband when we were dating that don’t even bring up moving in together till we were engaged. It was not an ultimatum….i was not desperate for marriage., just simply did not want to cohabitate till we were ready for marriage. I saw not point to move in. I had my own apartment (no roommates) and was doing just fine. He proposed as a total surprise 6 months later. 😊
I have a very different view on this. I wouldn't promise to marry someone, if I don't even know I can tolerate living with them. Will he also do household chores like cleaning? On his own, without being asked? Or will you turn into his mommy, if you live together? I need to be sure that won't happen, before agreeing to marry him.
The issue is human pride. It comes down to a woman not accepting that she is not the one for the man she wants. In her mind, she has to be the one for that man, and cannot fathom anything else. Ultimately, he will leave. It is best to accept ones’ losses and move on to someone who loves you, whether you have had kids with him or not. You cannot force someone to love you. If you guilt him into a ring and get married, he will eventually leave. Do yourself a favor, accept his rejection, move onward, and much more awaits you in your life. Pray on it. I moved to FL with him bc he told my dad he would marry me, (he was my college bf) he flew out to get me, we packed up all my things and my dog and drove all the way back to TX and I never looked back! Now I have a wonderful husband and a sweet baby boy!!!!
When I left he followed me all the way back to TX from FL and tried everything to get me back. I said no no no get the hell on. That was the last time he was going to lie to me and treat me like I’m some sort of fool. Respect yourself ladies! It took me a while to love myself. My dad had to remind me who I was, and I will never let anyone especially someone who claims to love me to treat me less than what I’m worth ever again.

I got pregnant a year after dating my husband and he did marry me after our child was born but I think the difference was that he didn't marry me because I had his child. He would have married me regardless. He was talking about marriage within the first two months of us dating and told everyone I was his fiance before he even proposed. I was more so the one who decided to say yes because I had his child.

My brother has been refusing to marry his partner since 1994. It’s been 30 years. They have 3 children and a house together but he “doesn’t believe in marriage” even though it’s important to her because of her Greek and aboriginal background. I’m thoroughly disappointed in him. I also think it’s a bad message to send to their sons about how to treat women.
I have a brother whose in his 40s he's been with his gf for almost 20 yrs shes also in her 40s they don't have any kids at all . And for the life of me I can't understand why he hasn't proposed to her either bcuz shes shown time after time how much she loves him shes been there with him battling illness ,amputation etc..Yet shes never walked away even when they called it quits for two yrs she was still there and now they're buying a house in another state and I'm like when is this marriage ever going to happen I asked him once and he gave me a sigh as a reply 😂😂 so I guess it's never going to happen

I told my husband when we were dating that don’t even bring up moving in together till we were engaged. It was not an ultimatum….i was not desperate for marriage., just simply did not want to cohabitate till we were ready for marriage. I saw not point to move in. I had my own apartment (no roommates) and was doing just fine. He proposed as a total surprise 6 months later. 😊
I have a very different view on this. I wouldn't promise to marry someone, if I don't even know I can tolerate living with them. Will he also do household chores like cleaning? On his own, without being asked? Or will you turn into his mommy, if you live together? I need to be sure that won't happen, before agreeing to marry him.
Moving in is fine, can be practical. But don't have kids. Don't be his houseservant. Don't pause your life. Keep working on your own things.

The issue is human pride. It comes down to a woman not accepting that she is not the one for the man she wants. In her mind, she has to be the one for that man, and cannot fathom anything else. Ultimately, he will leave. It is best to accept ones’ losses and move on to someone who loves you, whether you have had kids with him or not. You cannot force someone to love you. If you guilt him into a ring and get married, he will eventually leave. Do yourself a favor, accept his rejection, move onward, and much more awaits you in your life. Pray on it.
