- South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem on Meet the Press said that former President Donald Trump should pick a vice presidential nominee that "will help him win," and indicated that she has not been formally vetted for the position.

Republican South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has been banned from entering 3 out of the 9 tribal reservations within the state. This amounts to approximately 33.33% of the state’s tribes or 10.58% of the land in South Dakota. This action is a result of conflicts between Governor Noem and the tribal governments, particularly over issues related to the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and other jurisdictional disputes.
