Thank you for listing the ingredients in the description box. I love when people do that. I like goulash. There seem to be quite a few variations. My mom made a very basic one when I was growing up that had macaroni pasta in it. We were quite poor and sometimes we didn't have a lot of food. I make my own variation that I include olives and mushrooms with pasta. For canning though it might be good to leave out the pasta.
I leave out the pasta in mine... when I am ready to eat it I cook up some pasta, and top it with shredded cheese. Olives and mushrooms sounds like a really good variation.
oh my goodness!!! you never to amaze me who would have thought!!!! now I can have goulash without a ton left over...I am truly excited excited to do this one!!! I LOVE GOULASH!!! BLESSINGS 💖
This is one of my comfort foods, and I just cannot make a small batch taste the same as making a big pot of it.... I have tried. I hope you enjoy it!!!
I love having it on hand. I can't make a single serving of anything turn out right, so I this way I can still make a big batch and eat it whenever I want to!
My granny always cooked the noodles in the goulash. I just make everything up to that point then can it. When I open it, I add the noodles... it is really very good!!
What do you think about putting the elbows in the jars (like the Mac and cheese)? I want to do these for hubby’s lunches so they need to be ready to eat.
I tried once and they were mushy, but I have heard other rebel canners say that it worked for them. I would say can a jar or two and see if he is OK with the texture before you do a big batch.
You come up no offend I will make you my grandmother American chop suey which is what we call it up here and it has nothing to do with Italian seasoning or spaghetti sauce or any of that that people make it with! :-)
I just bought that pot on your stove at goodwill for 3.95. What a steal. I love it.
