So you disconnect your servo wire from receiver, connect to servo channel on gyro, then you have two channels left on gyro ,the receiver channel which you take your esc wire out of receiver and connect it to receiver channel on gyro , then the other wire obviously goes in last channel on the gyro , but where does it go in the receiver
The gyro has 3 plugs: servo-in (connects to the receiver servo output), servo out (connects to car servo) and gyro adjust which should be connected to a spare receiver channel (if it's available). The gyro can be either adjusted manually from the gain switch on it or remotely from another extra R/C channel. I'm using it by manual adjustment.
Thanks for the video! Definitely picking one up for my bison now. Do you have any ideas or tips to keep the front wheels down? (does the gyro help with that too?) ..i put the wheelie bar to the lowest position but it still wheelies a lot. I was thinking of adding some weight to the front end.
Did you also seen the video with it in action ? Here's my video take on slippery snow: ua-cam.com/video/ZFzhOpDSsPI/v-deo.html To keep front wheels down you can upgrade the oil in the differentials (stock they use almost none). Using higher viscosity such as 10.000WT or 15.000WT or even 20.000WT in the center and front differentials makes it less prone of wheelies and ballooning front tyres. On the rear diff I have only used 5.000WT to keep good traction and still have decent control. You can see more about the oils and upgrade on my videos here: ua-cam.com/video/iHhcV2FTwr8/v-deo.html and here: ua-cam.com/video/75eMFStwm4g/v-deo.html
Wow this is what I'm looking for...4 months since I got my rc and can't run on straight line..this is what I need! But bro do i need to change my linkages and hubs bit loose now..thanks for the info..
Mine works ok in reverse also, I've seen some people having problems when reversing, it may be that the gyro is not perfect installed at a 90° angle or that the front wheels have to much play or wrong trimms.
Thank you, you will love the Bison, it's a real beast on 4S, take it easy at the beginning and check all screws, use thread lock on differentials and also fill them with silicone oil.
So I have a traxxas slash 4x4 , I just bought the Gc301 sky gyro for speed runs to keep the car straight , on my transmitter, I only have a steering trim knob and a multifunction knob , so can I still use the gyro, and if so how do you hook it up ?
Yes you can still use it. The GC301 can be manually set or remotely controlled with aux channels. You just need to put your steering servo to work through the gyro, you need to disconnect the servo, connect it to the gyro and then the other wire from the gyro will go to the receiver (instead of the servo).
You should also check the steering rods / wheel tracking (toe-in/out), the Gyro improves the handling a lot as it always corrects the steering and tries to keep the car straight.
had nooo idea this is you paul lol i watched all the vkar videos i could find and remember seeing this vid ... you should make more videos about this car or live stream a q and a about it
Sadly I didn't have a lot of free time to keep on modding the Bison, I did had some special "secret" plans for it but wasn't able to start them. If I have more free time I will continue the series.
hey bro I just got my gc301 and I installed it and the gyro works but for some reason I don't have throttle anymore. can you please help me figure out what I did wrong or how to fix the problem. thankyou
Thanks for the advice man I got it figured out I ended up bringing it to HobbyTown Temecula in Temecula California and what it was was my receiver It got blown out somehow from the gyro I might have plugged in wrong at first or something but something happened to my Redcat receiver so I ended up getting a Spektrum receiver and controller combo and it fixed it thank you so much man for trying to help. Now that I got the spektrum setup I dont have to deal with that laggy situation that happens when you go really slow and barely press the throttle. Now it drives smooth no matter how slow im going.
I was impatient to test it so i have just covered it with tape and added the bison protective mesh over it, took it outside on snow an ice, had a real blast with it, the gyro works incredible well, i'll upload a video soon with it in action.
Thank you, I use Turnigy 5000mAh 4S LiHv (Lithium-High voltage) which safle charges to 4.35V / cell (you need a special charger), it has 35C constant discharge and 70C burst discharge.
I haven't tried to adjust it yet as on first test it was doing a good job, now my bison is half apart and waiting front differential oil and greasing along with wheel bearings check and motor cooling upgrade :)
You can't use it directly, although the receiver supports it, until now I haven't found a compatible transmitter sold separately or just the spare receiver. It's funny as the JLB and the Bison cars often get sold with various TX and RX which are compatible between them. My advice is to upgrade to a nice FlySky TX and have a lot of setting that you can tweak and control.
I spent hours trying to rig this thing up and after ur video i got it instant thank you!
Thanks for watching!

Thanks a lot for the tips! I'm waiting for the gyro and a new servo for mine :) Oil will be next!
Glad to be of help, please consider subscribing on my channel for more tech stuff.

I'm glad that you have found my video so useful, thanks for watching!
@@TechTronic9000 yes it helps...bro do i.need to change my linkages and hubs coz they are bit loose now? And turn to metals?
Are you sure it's the linkage and not the servo saver?
@@TechTronic9000 the hubs are loose after many runs, the wheels are shaky now. You upgrades all metal right? How is it now?
Mine is still stock, but also didn't run it for some time now.
Question: does it detect correctly when car goes into reverse? I've heard stories about the car turning wrongly when backing off with a gyro.
Mine works ok in reverse also, I've seen some people having problems when reversing, it may be that the gyro is not perfect installed at a 90° angle or that the front wheels have to much play or wrong trimms.
nice video and information 👌 still can't wait for my bison to arrive

TechTronic9000 thanks, I'll make sure I go over it as I had to do that on another one I bought from GearBest
My SkyRC GC301 doesn't have the +/- Gain setting , there is no screw to turn! I would like to have had that feature!
Maybe it's a newer model? Maybe it supports remote gain setting?!
@@TechTronic9000 im an idiot, and you are correct! I have the 401. 😫
No you are not, I'm glad we sorted it out. ;)
I'd like to know where you finally mount the gyro on this car, this is very interesting and I want to try it out. Thank you!
I have used double sided tape and put it on top of the radio receiver, it works perfectly there.
Hi, I have a problem. The gyroscope makes the same movement in normal as in reverse ... what can be the reason? and it's not counter steering
It has a reverse switch, you may need to use it.
@@TechTronic9000 thanks!

TechTronic9000 no problem man

Maybe it was indeed a reversed plug....
Can i use a digital servo with this Gyro?
Yes as long as the servo input is still regular 3 wires.
Very informative video...i`m going to buy one at onse. Hope you follow up with vid on waterproofing..

Hi, nice video mate. May i know what battery r u using?

Can you clearly show where the wires go exactly couldn't see to well on the video
I have uploaded some pics here: facebook.com/TechTronic9000/posts/582700241921326
Also are you using stock servo if not what would you recommend a upgrade servo
I'm using the stock one, no problems until now.
TechTronic9000 which upgrade servo would you use now
I think you can use the one from the Helion Four 10TR.
Thanks so much!
Should the gyro be set to max? Or leave in the middle between positive & negative?
Mine is on 50% (default) as for positive and negative you need to test on your servo and see if it's correct or not.
TechTronic9000 mine is as well, but was wondering if u turn that screw all the way up would it make it more sensitive.
I haven't tried to adjust it yet as on first test it was doing a good job, now my bison is half apart and waiting front differential oil and greasing along with wheel bearings check and motor cooling upgrade :)
hi..can you please explain how to use 3rd channel ?
