Appreciate this. Was hard to find someone doing a walkthrough of Rode Central with the Duo. +++
Thanks for stopping by i appreciate you
Great video, very extreme low dB audio. I also have the PodMic USB at 60dB and still add +4 or +6 dB on post.
Thank for the video
Great walkthrough! Thanks! I am considering buying a Rodecaster Duo for a dual PC setup since the GOXLR doesn't get support anymore.
You should take a look at my video on the goxlr not being dead
Im thinking about getting the Pro 2 version, and seeing that this eliminates using a USB sound card and a laptop for making the mixer work, this is absolutely amazing.
Thank you for a great video! Can you tell me about the background you are using, is it software?
Thank you which background are you speaking about the server room, or the 3 blocked background
@@G.E.T The server room or the software that generated the room?
That was just a free license image, i think it was from adobes cc images
@@G.E.T Thank you, again.
Thanks a lot for your deep dive. Presonal question, since the GoXLR drama... Do you think it can be a reliable replacement for the GoXLR?
Best regards!
Ok soo i have a video coming about this tomorrow, watch if you would like,......but yes it would be a good replacement but it does something different than the goxlr
@@G.E.T The most common question I think many people have is about the audio routing, since the GoXLR did a really good and intuitive job on displaying it in the software. Great, looking forward to see your video! All the best!
I have a podmic and the duo and I am trying to get everything tuned in the way I want but I am having trouble. First question would be does this need a cloudlifter? All marketing from Rode says no but I am not sure. Second is I am having trouble understanding gain settings while also trying to minimize sounds from my keyboard/mouse. How do content creators not have keyboard/mouse sounds present, is that a noise suppressor or is the podmic just really bad at this? (No I am not talking about the noise gate, I mean if I am talking and using the keyboard/mouse in the background)
First welcome to the channel and thanks for stopping by, to your first question no you do not need a cloud lifter the duo is specifically made for rode mics and has mor than enough to power the mic,….that being said to get the most out of your mic you’ll have your mic fader most of the way up if not using a cloud lifter. So it comes down to personal preference most mic settings are set and forget but you can use one if it is needed and you think you need a bit more overhead on the gain. The second question your keyboard clicks,…..most of the time this is done through the noise gate but can also be done in obs through the noise suppression filter or through some of nvidia voice tools from your gpu if you have one. Hope this helps
Sorry if this is a dumb question or if I missed it at some point of the video but does this have live mic monitoring. I live to be able to hear myself real time line the goxlr did
Yes it does
I am unable to hear my guest on streamyard. i can't seem to hear any audio from my pc as well when i have my duo on. I can only hear myself and not anything from my guest or pc. Anyone can help?
That is just a routing issue
now i was told that this does not work with elgato mics does it hurt too try i seen people use audio technica and other usb mics that dont work . i use a elgato wave 3 i might upgrade too the xlr mic
Well let me plug the wave 3 in and check,…..rode did add a feature with their newer firmware that allowed for the use if usb microphones
The only ones compatible right now are rode usb microphones the elgato wave 3 does not work
How many soundcards you get when you plug it into your pc? I mean is it like the GoXLR that you get four different outputs? And can you also store different routing settings?
Well this works a bit different than the goxlr as this has 2 usb ports,…and you can use rode central to route different audio sources,….but it has 4 faders for out puts plus 3 virtual that you can assign,……if thats what you mean by soundcards? Just as an fyi i have 2 pcs, 2 headphones, an xlr mic and 2 wireless go 2 microphones and a playstation 5 all audio routed through this,
@@G.E.T Hey thanks for the fast answer. I mean Virtual Outputs at all .. sorry.. So like the GoXLR has System / Chat / Music and the Broadcast where you can Route all your Virtual Soundcards over. I use that function to route all Soundsettings to a second PC which is Responsible for the Stream.
Regards, Rene
Yes it has the same thing only done on the actual device and also through rode central,......
@@G.E.T Thank You :) Great!
No problem thanks for stopping by
is there a place where we can download more sound samples /fx effects?
You can get samples and fx from anywhere you want as and assign them i have a video coming about fx and midi stuff
Do you have a time. To. Help me on my audio set. Up. I cont get it running right. I will pay you time.
Sure,….what seems to be the issue? You can go to the discord for more real time chat
@@G.E.T yes. What u discord.
@@1Wayfix it’s in the description in the video
I'm getting very annoyed because I can't make the sound pads music to be recorded by obs..
Elaborate please?
This is the closest thing that I’ve gotten, to useable information, in all of the videos that people have posted. My only question is, how to integrate this, into my workflow (as I have a MacBook Pro M2 and use zoom). This thing has literally been sitting on my ottoman, unopened, for two weeks, because I can’t find a decent answer and might have to return it.
I have the macbook pro with an m1 what would you like to know??? As far as zoom is concerned it work with all software like teams and zoom, well that i have tested
@@G.E.T so, do I save, to the Duo or to the Mac? The Duo, is just saving the audio, right? Not the video? Should I just use it, as a mixer and to take remote calls? Will it accept canned audio, so I can just play pre-recordings of segment announcements, etc.? I also have Buzzsprout, for hosting, if that helps. Thank you, in advance, for any advice.
@@miguelcabral1836 you can save to either, your preference, no it does not do video if you want video you would need to use the streamerx, you can use it as a mixer and take remote calls at the same time, via bluetooth, wireless, or line in. If you mean canned audio as in sound bites yes you can do that via the soundboard
@@G.E.T how long can the sound bites be? Also, do I take my call in guests, from the front line in or are the 3.5 mms in the rear also capable of that, because my cohost, is remote.
@@miguelcabral1836 1/4 line in the back if you want ot bluetooth, or a couple other ways, the internal storage of the duo is about 4gb so how much evet sound you can get into that space
Question: When powering down your connected PC, do you happen to know how to also power down the Rodecaster Duo?
There is a red button on the back of the roadcaster duo that you'll want to press. Once you press that youll get a prompt on the screen asking for you to confirm powering down just touch that button and it will power down
@@G.E.T OMG, duuuh. 😂 Well that was easy. Thanks for your quick response!
@mynusten i looked at your name and photo and then the question and was like this has got to be some sort of joke lol but ill answer it anyway and see where this goes cause,.....well curiosity lol but glad i could help appreciate you stopping by the channel 😁
I had mine 30 minutes and there was a bang and now it doesn’t work.
That’s horrible,….rode is usually good at fixing issues,….sorry to hear about that
My meters only show for my mic, I’m unable to update the firmware so I can’t use my computer to do anything and my audio on streamyard is normal for my guest but super low for me..whew sorry for so much
did you do any routing setup when you initially purchased the device? As I have previously stated most of the issues with this device come down to the routing table, your mixes, and submits. As far as the firmware update are you trying to updated it over a wifi connect or rode central
@@G.E.T no to the routing…I was able to update the firmware tho
Ok, more than likely youll need to get your mixes right and things will start to show up properly,......most issues with audio and the duo come down to that routing table and what your audio defaults are inside of windows
@@G.E.T any video tutorial recommendations?
@IntellectuallyPettyRadio on routing
the audio is so painfully low
Apologies the low audio was foxed after upload
@@G.E.T It's still very low...
How to would someone connect a Nintendo switch on it
That’s a good question havent tried with the switch, let me test and ill get back to you on this
@@G.E.T definitely. Thank you. I’ll really appreciate it.
Soooo tired usb c on the switch, headphone jack on the front to the duo to switch, and all usb ports on the doc,…..only way to get audio that i could find was to pair the audio with the duo bluetooth,….which works great so you would just have to add the bluetooth to your routing
@@G.E.T how do you connect it through Bluetooth
Go into the duos bluetooth to make it discoverable and then search for it on the switch once you find it just connect
ur audio ruined your video. i didn't go through cus of poor sound quality
Thanks for the heads up, the podmic need a bit of a boost since this video I’ve added a cloud lifter and adjust audio
