You are so precious to so many of us. Your adventures are bringing much sunlight to our rainy days. Keep on sharing with the world places many would not think of visiting, regions worth exploring. I’m born in Alsace so I can share your enthusiasm. Thank you 🙏🏽
You are living proof that life is about the journey, not the destination. Slow food, slow traveling by land or water, to a violin serenade is delightfully old school.
You pronounce Bacharach perfectly. Thank you for taking me back to 1960 when Andy, Whigs and I hiked from Koblenz to Mainz .Andy and I were studying at Westminster Technical Hotel School in London. Later he and I spent the winter working as waiters in the luxury Munich Hotel Bayerischerhof.
Another wonderful video, thanks guys. I also want thank you for that reminder from the Pope to protect and care for one another. To know and be silent is to be complicit. Be safe Take care 👍😎🐺🐾
Troopers, it doesn’t get any better than this video. You could easily make a travelogue and sell it, it would be much better than others. Your videos are marvelous. Outstanding troopers. Much love, Old Ron
Its so sweet to see you being that excited about the castles and monuments of the middle Rhine valley. I grew up in Bingen and for me its just the every days view I had for 20 years :) Very wise you've chosen the left side for your bicycle tour, there is the better infrastructure and more little towns down the river.
Was in Hostel Burg Stahleck Bacharach back in April 1980 for a week. It was for the German-American high school student orchestra and chorus. At the end of the week, we gave a free concert for the public in town. We lived in the upper rooms. They closed the castle gates at 10 pm, so good luck trying to get in after curfew. Amazing views from the terrace.
We did that same cycle ride to Bacharach August 2018. One of the best rides we have done. We were staying in the campsite in Rudesheim by the marina. It was 22 miles there and back. Loved the video brought back many happy memories.
I used to live not a stones throw away from where you are now. I came from England to work in Stuttgart in 1980 as an aeronautical consultant on a 6 months contract and stayed for 23 years. Lovely to see the area again.
We lived in Germany for seventeen years and visited the Rhein and Mosel river valley's often. The birds I hear in the background of your video take me right back to our former home. Thank you so much. Glad you are enjoying the region, too.
I have been following you since your first video, still some catch up to do, but sincerely love each one of them. The shots, the music, the history behind all the places you visit. Wish you both the best. Keep alive that love between you both alive.
Amazing architecture and everything kept in such good condition (which must cost a fortune).I can't even imagine how long it took to build those amazing castles especially so many years ago. Thanks for sharing your videos are awesome!...take care and stay safe Aladino and Mia !
This is the Utah mountain man and wow! This video is amazingly produced, photographed, narrated and I am convinced you have found your best selves as film makers.
That was a lovely excursion by bicycles as you ventured into the enchantment of the castles and surrounding villages. Thanks so much for providing an escape from the crazy world! Jenny
I am at a loss to express myself. I did not know places like these still existed. I remember seeing similar scenes like these in comic books like Disney, etc., as a child and never thought they actually existed. Thank you indeed for allowing me to see these fantastic sights!
It always takes me twice as long to watch your videos as their running times because I'm always pausing, rewinding, pausing again to absorb all the little details in a lot of the scenes!
We just started watching your beautifully produced videos and love them! We cruised from England through the French canals down to Spain in 2010, stayed there for eight years, moved to France in 2012 and now have our Broom 395 in Mâcon. We live overlooking the Saône at Villefranche-sur-Saône so we might have seen you go by! We cruised up to Dole this August and loved it as well. We look forward to working our way through your entire series. I recommend that you join the Facebook page Women on Barges; it is not just for barges and is very international. Bon voyage ❤️🛶⛵️🚤🛥❤️😁
Good NZ morning Maya and Aladino. Love the bicycle tour. One day when this madness is over,....sigh. Aaah yes we all have our own personal dreams. In the meantime the Magic Carpet crew can show us those destinations that might very well be part of our dreams. Thankyou for everything. By the way Maya...your smile on camera is a great tonic to help start my day down here in Nz. Thankyou. Take care and stay safe.
Hi Maya, your pronunciation of 'Bacharach' is just perfect! This also holds true for your English narration which is ear candy for non native speakers. I don't know about your plans for 2021, going around the Baltic Sea (taking four month if you take your time) is a must when being in Northern Europe anyway. Take care and stay safe.
That Werner Chapel is identical in architecture and look to the old Coventry cathedral in England, so much so that I think that here must be a connection. Ironically Coventry's beautiful cathedral was one of the first destroyed by the German bombs and there is an iconic photograph of Churchill stood in it ruins. Those are really very beautiful words by the Pope on the monument there. Best wishes for the coming journey north.
So happy you got to enjoy the surrounding region and really take a load off mentally. It's got to be hard to feel like you always need to be making progress and moving forward. I can tell you definitely enjoyed yourself in the moment this episode :) Great vid as usual!
The town Bacharach reminded me of the Alsace region , Colmar, Kaysersberg, Oberhergheim, i could go on , we spend a lot of time in the Black Forest so next visit on our way up to the north must be the Rhine region , thank you both so much for sharing with us , we never miss a episode. Thank you
Yesterday we had a scary experience going up the Rhône when our engine died. We were in a dangerous section with a Mistral blowing and high waves. We somehow made it to shore and the pompiers had to come tow us to safety. I was feeling defeated and wondering if we’d even try again. Your words were spookily timely and made me feel better. Thank you.
More Rüdesheim am Rhein! I'm not sure how far behind your videos are from where you are currently, but I hope you got a chance to visit Mainz, as well! Thanks for bringing up all these memories for me!
Thank you Maya (and Aladino of course). This presentation was so very much appreciated. I believe that if not already someone soon will offer you a wonderful job to do this professionally. You have real talent. Please stay safe.
Very sad for these places with the lack of tourists because of the Covid, but for your sightseeing with so few others about it must be superb. A lovely episode again, Thank you both for inviting us along on your adventures.
5:30 I love the use of the high security motion sensor in the castle because the massive walls and the fact that it's a castle must make it easy for criminals to break into.
The sailing, the boat and beautiful narratives brought me to Magic Carpet. Your continuing travel keeps me here for each week’s episode. Once again....Bravo!
As with your vlogs I'm in awe of how well you capture not only the views but the feelings of an area. Impressive is to trite of a statement when it comes to your work. Again 2 thumbs up.
This was one of your *star* videos! It was lovely to see genuine joy on Maya's face while looking at what was around her. It is so good to see a young person taking pleasure in the world! This was such a 'grown up' video. You are becoming a very attractive channel. Be well, be happy, be free from suffering, and be safe, both of you!
Plans are are not needed, when you have so much to see and do just slow down and enjoy the moment....there is no rush! 'Yet another beautiful presentation by two wonderful young people enjoying life as they should. Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures...enjoy!
Nice views! 3:14, 18:29 One of my random pleasures is to ride a ferry on the Rhine, even if I might get around it, saving time and money. It's a short rest while feeling the heaving - you come in physical contact with the river, if only for a few minutes.
I was so hoping and pulling for you to have stayed at the world-famous youth hostel in Bacharach... a place so very dear to my heart wherein 1956 my whole class got to spend a week learning firsthand about the region. But then I'll never be able to have the adventure you guys are having living and traveling on your boat. The way your eyes are smiling from ear to ear reminds me of little children at Christmas. Thanks for sharing
I have CC on (Closed Captions). Too funny, Rubber Knights not robber. The most beautiful place, I want to come there with you but you make us feel we are there.
Dear Maya and Aladino, I am facinated by the quality of the stories you tell, the music, the scenery and your positive energy towards life. As a sailor and a musician, I share your feelings of adventure and appreciation for beauty. Sometimes, I dream about my travels in a way that follows your own stories. I can hear the Mistral in the Mediterranean and discover old castles in the Rhine and wonder about the lost ecos in the ancient stone walls of the old cities. Journeys are nothing more than paths to our own souls. Thank you!
Just found your channel, watched the video and subscribed immediatly. You have a lovely voice Maya, perfect for what you are doing. Looking forward to your next episode. Love from the north of Scotland.
Once again a wonderful vid & lovely comment. also great accompanying music. Appreciate you can"t visit all towns along the Rhine but most have a great deal to offer & as PPPpink said you have missed a treat in Mainz. Hopefully the best is yet to come. Koblenz is a nice town & if you can turn down the Mosel there are more treats to see. Berncastle Kues is lovely but as a non sailor unsure if it is navigable that far up. even if you get to Cochem you will love it. Enjoy ! Eric.
I suggest you take a side trip when you get to the Mosel River. Visit the town of Zell. My favorite wine...Zeller Schwarze Katz lives there. Find the hotel right on the river in the city and ask the owner if she remembers the woman who fell on her face. Bacharach is easy to pronounce...think of Burt.
I've watched magic carpet youtube from the beginning , videos are improving from episode to episode . Someday Maya and Aladino might become brilliant documentary producers . 😄
Outstanding video. Thanks for sharing your life and times with us that watch your electrifying channel. Absolutely beautiful views of Germany. You have made today a journey in happiness for us that watch your informative channel.
Maya nand Aladino thanks for the videos - cool episode. Reminds me of the train ride I took through that area decades ago. You need to get some foldup bikes for Magic Carpet. Best
Having a voice like honey and cream teas helps the narration! I am hoping that you guys catch up with Torsten at Sirius yachts at Plön on your way north, I reckon he would love to show you round his amazing 36DS and 40DS boats, and I sure would love to watch your video on it! Happy sailing.....
Gorgeous scenery and commentary. I say this all the time! But your work is superb, so I have to keep mentioning it! Thank you for sharing your lovely journey.
You really are gifted in your use of language. Their is a soft allure and sing song quality to your dialogue that is both soothing and addictive. Your weekly dialogue is a fix that I have come to rely upon. I know exactly what you mean about sailors as I have just journeyed by 33 foot ketch from Scotland to England with much drama along the way . Your recognition of the almost spiritual renewal of boat life speaks to my soul in a special way. You are indeed an inspirational couple. Thank you for what you do. Paul - Ketch "Caradon" Glasson Dock -Lancashire -England

Unfortunately due to all the Covid restrictions I have not done them as planned, but watching this is definitely a good second best to actually going, which hopefully I will still do next year.
Thanks for taking this old man with you. I appreciate using your boundless energy to show me things I would never see if not for your generosity.
So well said Thomas! So well said. You have many peers...
You are so precious to so many of us. Your adventures are bringing much sunlight to our rainy days. Keep on sharing with the world places many would not think of visiting, regions worth exploring. I’m born in Alsace so I can share your enthusiasm. Thank you 🙏🏽

Love the story about grandma's lens! The upper Rhine is beautiful!
You are getting closer to the city I grew up: Cologne. I now live in the very North of Düsseldorf! Keep up the good spirit!
Hi Maya, your pronunciation of 'Bacharach' is just perfect! This also holds true for your English narration which is ear candy for non native speakers. Really enjoyed this video. Then again, I really enjoy all your adventures. You two are just too cute and free spirited.
You guys make me really want to spend a year in France away from all typical tourist destinations.
You guys did more in a day than most people do in 3 days. Wow!!!

5:30 I love the use of the high security motion sensor in the castle because the massive walls and the fact that it's a castle must make it easy for criminals to break into.

I guess the massive walls are good against robbing knights and security sensors against drunk teenagers :D
