Ironic indeed that you were worried that a series about canal travel wouldn't appeal to viewers of a sailing channel, whenithe uniqueness of this voyage, along with your wonderful videos and narration, was exactly what made it so fascinating to so many of us. Thank you for sharing this voyage with your loyal viewers!

Maya, you videos are not just about sailing, they are about culture, about music, about the beauty of this planet. Please keep doing what you are doing and don’t worry about theme of the channel.
    And more music please.

Thank you sooo much for taking us along with you on your journey, we didn't like it - we loved it ! The two of us (my wife and I) are not particularly 'boaty' people, but being on your boat for this journey has been quite special . We are two Brits who live in France and enjoy travelling (in France and elsewhere) with our (towed) caravan, but now we also enjoy travelling with Magic Carpet. Thanks Maya. Thanks Aladino.

This was an awesome series! Not only because it brought back memories to my life in Germany, but because of the way you showed your experience
Aladino's comment "The challenges made it adventurous" reminded me of a phrase by famous western author Louis L'Armour in his self written autobiographie: "Adventure is nothing but a romantic word for trouble".

20 years ago, a PBS special series called "Barging through Europe" , about a man that rode a barge through many canals - it caught my imagination way back then. Your beautiful series going North rekindled that excitement and went way beyond that series in so many ways. Your filming, storytelling & music have been a total joy to behold. Best wishes on your next adventure.

Thank you for allowing Me to follow your Adventures through this terrible time, Being a 66 yr old "Landlubber" who can't and never has been able to swim ( because of a bad experience as a child) nor have I been into sailing because of that I was totally amazed how much I was enthralled, totally drawn to binge watch your complete Adventure from the beginning , so not being able to Travel and see for myself I have enjoyed every episode and look forward to your next Adventures. Take care, Stay healthy and Keep safe.

I'm 72 and have been following your jurneys and adventures since the 2nd episode when beautiful MC left the boatyard and I feel like I know you since many years, appreciating your approach and way of life. I wish to congratulate for the excellent filming and artistic editing that make transpire a deep sense for adventure and cultural curiosity..... (a modern Odyssey), either sailing in the Med or going across Europe through waterways, despite Covid lockdowns.... You are a lovely salty young couple and I hope our routes will cross someday in the eastern Med (There -away from tourist places- you can still find an incredible hospitality and pristine coves and villages, full of history: very poetic.... Besides, winters are mild...) Buon Vento!

I really enjoyed watching your travels north through the continent! What a wonderful thing for us to watch during the pandemic. With many people stuck at home, socially isolating, a little ‘vacation’ in the form of your weekly video was just what was needed. Thank you for that! Looking forward to the next chapter in your adventure!
I just realized I hadn’t subscribed yet. I wait for the videos to come out each week so I didn’t realize that I wasn’t subscribed. Also I tend to watch on the tv so I don’t see if I’m subscribed and I don’t see the option for clicking the thumbs up.
Safe travels and keep up the videos, it’s great for those of us who currently don’t have the opportunity to get out there.

We already started planning and saving for a trip from Rotterdam to Constanta - in the Black Sea. Until then, with the boat we have we will make a test run on the lower part of the Danube this summer, and see how it works out.
    Thank you so much!!!

An excellent series, Maya and Aladino! You wondered why it became so popular? Well I, for one, was happy to have a break from beautiful people having a beautiful time among the palm trees, beaches, wind and waves. There are plenty of channels doing that, which is fine, of course. But they aren't as varied or well crafted as yours. You show us new things, you ask new questions, and you go outside your comfort zones. Lastly, your lovable personalities compliment each other: artistic and logical (we know who's who!). Keep doing what you do.

I really enjoyed you trip across Europe, and especially sailing the ancient ship replica in the Netherlands. My Dutch ancestors came, in 1624, to the New Amsterdam and New Jersey Colonies, leaving from Winkel, North Holland, to a nearby port and traveling back and forth until much of the Wallich/Van Winkle family had arrived. I am 14th generation from the netherlands.

I have thoroughly enjoyed your river sequences. I lived in France for two years, a portion in Switzerland. I have always wondered what the canal system between Lyon and Switzerland to the Rhine would be like.
A friend of mine who lived in Alsace Lorraine in her youth, started following your videos when I told her about your trip up the canals. She mentioned that she remembered her grandfather fishing in the canal that you guys traveled over. You made a trip that I always wanted to do and thanks to you, I know what it looks like now. Cool information. I love the diesel calculations. It's one of the big reason's I bought my 27' Erikson is because I can move about efficiently and stay right on the boat etc. I am so looking forward to next summer getting to know it. I will have to install my auto-tiller before my big trip, but I have to sail it 380 miles along the West coast of Michigan up and around the tip of the "mitten" through the straights of mackinaw and then down the eastern side to my slip in Bay City. I may hang out at Beaver Island and Drummond island also for a few days in the middle to take a break. I have friends with places on both islands. I've always wanted to have a chance to see them.

Thank you so much for undertaking this journey and producing the videos. The quality of your work and presentation would impress professionals. I like sailing and videos about sailing but there are only so many sea ports and lots of people filming them, so this did provide a refreshing change. I can't say I would have been so entertained by a video about a boat on a truck, but who knows. You certainly have inspired us and we are now receiving emails from a boat brokerage you passed at Saint Jean de Losne. It's a bit further for those of us in Australia, but some day our country will open and it may happen.

What an incredible experience. I can only wonder about the outcome should MC get beam on to the flowing current. It had to have taken a lot of concentration. Well done. Looking forward to your next adventure.

Nicely done guys. Just a suggestion, you'd talked about the canals of Belgium and Holland. Maybe in the spring of a coming year, you rent a nice canal barge and go exploring and sharing your experience's there. I think it would make a great series.

Since winter is setting in, I suggest that you spend it in England since the weather is a bit more moderate there. When spring arrives, you can tour Scandinavia all summer.

1st time watching I have been following Uma for quite some time now and your journey is also very cool. I can relate with the folks who questioned the lack of Sailing but poo poo to them you do what you have to do keep it up. I'm 69 now and was a Navy Photographer in the 70s so I love your photography and your editing which is a lot of work. In my younger days I owned a 23ft sailboat Venture with a swing keel. Back then I dreamed of doing what you and others have done but money was always the issue and a wife that really didn't care for that adventuring life. We have been married since 1978 and now I'm trying to convince her to travel across our great land in a little Class C RV from Winnebago since sailing is out of the question. So wish me luck in that department I may have to let her stay home. Enough of me I will look up your journey and watch them it's better than anything else on TV. A little tip here how about what its like when you have a good old fashioned argument let video role.

I found your channel a few months ago and have totally enjoyed watching all of your videos of your trip north through the continent! All the videos have been brilliantly edited and I find you to be a totally engaging couple to watch and listen to. I have never been on a sailboat but I am anxiously waiting to see what adventures you have planned for your next series!
