Hi we have a series 1 ve calais and have purchased a pfk-ves1g3 along with ilx-650e but the unit isn't powering up.. we had 650e in before and worked with aerpro unit we have..any help much appreciated
What I wanna know how come the gear change is for auto and not Manuel, if I'm paying 3 grand I'd want everything to work properly, that's my only concern
The VE S2 does not have data for manual gear change on the GMLAN bus. If it was present the kit could pick it up. Solutions start from $2298 thefittingbay.com.au/?s=ve+series+2&post_type=product
If your factory gauges still work then yes the Sports features including Rev gauge, Acc % should still function as this information is all taken from the GMLan. The vehicle model information displayed on the HVAC is gathered from the VIN. The engine type displayed would still be the original.
This dash kit upgrades the outdated factory IQ2 system to a widescreen unit with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto the most wanted feature currently in car audio. The A/C touch screen controls are lightning fast, provide extra info about your vehicle and have fully customisable colours to suit a Luxury or Sports feel
The factory IQ2 is also complete rubbish, I use it every single day and hate it. The Bluetooth audio is complete rubbish and the system is buggy although I do agree that manual knobs are better than a touchscreen the amount you adjust the A/C shouldn’t really be too much of an issue.
@@tobyspence3621 caprice ppv is based on the Holden Statesman/Holden Caprice which have a different dash shape It will plug in if it is 2011 onward but want actually fit unless you put a G8(VE) dash in with the VE series 2 fittings but that is a big job
do you have this set up to fit the WM Caprice as well as the VE Commodore?

@@thefittingbayau can I manually enter the VIN from the car in which the engine was taken?
@@bellarinatom Sorry the VIN is obtained from the data bus information.
Does this work for a 2011 caprice?
It is possible by changing over some dash pieces, contact@thefittingbay.com.au for more info
Will this work on a series 1 calais?
We also have Series 1 kits available: thefittingbay.com.au/?s=VE+Series+1&post_type=product
too much touch screen ... not easy to use while driving
Its nice, but a factory IQ2 is way cheaper, and the touchscreen controls for the aircon, screw it up
