Please explain why and how a system is suppose to work. Not all subscribers are auto mechanics and have no clue what fuel trims are or how engineers designed these systems to function. I like the way you do this in your video's. New subsciber, thanks.
+gary smith Thanks, Gary! Yeah my goal is to have a mix of "how it works" theory vids and in-the-field "real-time" case studies like ScannerDanner. Thanks for watching!
These people who live it areas where they don't throw salt on the roads just have it so easy, so I am guessing your living in the salt belt just like Scotland. Good video :)
Donald Bain Yeah I'd say over HALF of all vehicle repairs here in the US Northeast are due to excessive corrosion from the salt. The amount of money and parts that are spent on this every year is astounding! I think it would be cheaper and safer for everyone to buy mandatory snow tires and learn to drive properly :)
motoYam82 Yes it same over here every thing you try to remove usually snaps off just to make your day lol. I fully agree snow tires and slow down and learn to drive properly would save us a fortune. :)
Scary looking rotor you showed there. I sincerely hope you spoke to the owner and convinced him/her to have the front brake rotors and pads renewed before you released the vehicle. And yet again an interesting video. Thanks man.
+Peter Riis Absolutely! I wouldn't feel right putting those hunks of rust back on lol..surprisingly there was no brake pulsations at all with those scary rotors!
Been watching your vids for a while now. I was a mechanic for a dealership ten yeas ago. Now i just work in my own cars. You are an awesome mechanic and are the best at diagnosing! I wish i had those fancy scanners you and eric o have lol. Best on youtube! Keep up the good work!
I live in the rust belt too (rhode island). The corrosion issues i fully understand. Cant keep a ehicle on the road (safely at least) for more than ten years. Theres usually No frame left.
Thanks for the kind words! Yes the salt-induced corrosion is very sad. Can you imagine how much money is wasted every year on keeping otherwise good vehicles on the road?
tip for the future dude, if the sleeve stays in there like that, clean the rust, throw down some paint, fill it full of wheel bearing grease and bolt the sensor back down, i've done this to 3-4 family members cars and yet to have an issue, as for customers its touchy but as a last resort it works
Great job Ivan. I'm glad I subscribed. Oh..And where were your safety stands. Even Eric O is showing his viewers how to work on cars safely as well as his own personal safety.
One of my friends was crushed and killed when his truck fell off the stands. If he had just put the tires under the car or used safety stands, he would still be alive and his two kids wouldn't be growing up without their father. SHIT HAPPENS and one careless moment can cost you your life. But, go ahead, keep ignoring your safety.
bimmerman3 Good catch! Obviously I would never get under a vehicle relying on just the jack, especially under the control arm, but I do usually slide a jackstand under the frame rail for extra security. Actually surprised that I didn't do that here...Safety First!
I had a 2002 Chevy Impala. The traction control light comes and it always struggled to move. After a while it will be fine. It seems to me it's a known common issue in GM cars
Definitely looked like the front rotors are ready for the scrap pile. Time for a complete brake job it appears. Sad to see all of these "rust belt" auto's get destroyed due to cheap road freeze preventative measures.
on that Autel scanner u use sometimes, is that equilvalent to a snap on modis or solus I know snap ons probably a more expensive, but just wanted to get ur feed back on it, thanks, good video.
That's crazy... All that activation and not enough to throw a TC MIL...Just imagine the issues you'll be getting in 10 years when the automatic braking systems to avoid rear end collisions start glitching and acting up! Let's hope not!
+motoYam82 pretty close, it's a Taurus in the roof of a house, hahaha! I love it... someone hit the gas in reverse and flew off a parking garage a few towns away.

+Peter Riis And tires ... those tires are ballllllllld

Never had any luck just changing the sensor and cleaning up surface. Just replace hub.
Awesome video, my first time on your channel.
I like no drama.
I like you don't waste my time showing me the simple tasks, like taking off the tire...
Nice work Ivan!

+Kevin Rogers Hmmm not bad thanks for the tip!
Thank you,
Mostly the same issue,
But in truck, even when traction is bypassed, I th is much better but I still feel traction not letting it move

+wysetech2000 pfft, not like he crawled under there. christ, do ppl watch just to see where they can insert their dumbass 2 cents?
+Um No Yeah...I just read one.
... so yeah! fucking youtube reviewers

I would always put the jack under the frame. It can slide under the control arm.

Your welcome, its amazing how fast things come down if it slips off lol
When I test drive to verify the complaint for situations like this I graph the abs pids and combine graphs to easily see differences in wheel speed.
nice diagnostics and fix
mighty fine looking rotor . soak it in vinegar. rough it up with sand paper ..... good as new
LOL

Well done 👍
And all the rust on top is now in the bearing so also a great way to get customers to come back.
Unfortunately that "rust in the bearing" trick didn't work...truck is still rolling smooth as butter :(
That is a good thing

Just where the heck u live? Seems like paradise! Is there anything else u do besides fixing cars? Btw, liked the video!
always plenty to do on the farm...but I'd rather fix cars than mow the lawn lol
motoYam82 well you're blessed my friend!
on that Autel scanner u use sometimes, is that equilvalent to a snap on modis or solus I know snap ons probably a more expensive, but just wanted to get ur feed back on it, thanks, good video.
+hunkydude322 I have used both, and I would personally take the Autel since it covers more makes and models.
Great educational video

That's why I have the ABS disabled on my own vehicle...don't trust the "smart" electronics :)
Is that a Ford Taurus falling through the driveway in your pic??
I'd imagine a glitchy auto braking system could actually cause a rear ender if someone pulls into traffic and the brakes falsely trigger.
+motoYam82 pretty close, it's a Taurus in the roof of a house, hahaha! I love it... someone hit the gas in reverse and flew off a parking garage a few towns away.
Thank you 🙏
When are you gonna do a fix on the red s10?
Does that issue cause transmission to go bad?
Pink steering wheel cover... that's a weird way to come out
I would imagine you could have repaired the sensor with Heat Shrink Tubing as long as the coil was still good.
+Upallnight Just got this truck in the shop this evening! Just here for inspection; the fix shown in this video is holding up quite well :)
Yukon with Euro taillights.. whyyyyyyy
I would have just pulled a fuze for this fix.
Awesome!
Never seen so much rust in my life😂 that must be horrible thank god I live in California
You mean commifornia? Lol. I'll admit that Northern California is nice.. If you stay in the mountains away from people.
no rust in the gunshine sorry sunshine
interesting stuff. Where do you get that spray grease?
+DrivingDan Courtesy of Eric O. at South Main Auto Repair! I don't know the original source...will have to ask when I run out lol
Cool
My last wife had a no crank no start.
dont even piss around w/ changing the wss, replace the whole hub assy.
is one bolt typical for abs sensors?
On the GM trucks it is
I've never seen a 2-bolt design...
LOL power was never a problem for those gm ls based motors.
livalittle100 too bad everything else IS.
could be the transmission
Luckily in this case it wasn't :)
maybe the cat converter is clogged up !
+Lloyd Dailey Not a chance lol
I hate traction control.
What’s up with the ending wtf
Wo
